She had accepted, her schedule being free on Thursday. Hinny of the Hills would only be played once in Ponyville, and few tickets were sold. SodaPop escorted Creampuff to the theater, minutes before the play would begin. The two sat next to each other, three-rows back on the left side. “So, Creampuff,” Soda began, “Have you read any good books recently?” “No!” She answered, “Umm… no.” The curtains opened, the play began. SodaPop put his hoof around Creampuff, and she began to blush. She was hesitant to look at him, but when she did; her face was close enough to Sodas that they could touch. Creampuff turned; face forward, her face burning red. Soda leans closer, touching his cheek to Creampuffs. Time passes, the play enters act II, neither pony makes a move. Then, Soda touches Creampuffs hoof with his. As she calms down, she leans against SodaPop. Soda turns, touching his lips to hers. It takes Creampuff by surprise at first, but she is quickly lulled into the kiss. Applause fills the room, shocking both ponies as act II ends, and the intermission takes place. “Uh... I’ll go get us a drink.” SodaPop says blushing awkwardly, and leaves. Creampuff sits alone; her face is a bright red. Other pony’s converse around her, she’s left with her thoughts. “W-We just kissed…!” She murmurs. She’s wet, trapped within a nervous sweat. When SodaPop gets back, will he notice that she’s aroused? “Hey.” Creampuff jumps at the sound of Soda’s voice. “I got us a large splite to share.” He grins. He knows it’s her favorite kind of soda. When they first met, Creampuff had bought a splite soda from SodaPop, telling him it was her favorite. She came back the next day, requesting the same kind of soda. Soon after, Soda began to chat with her. Each day Creampuff visited SodaPop’s soda pop stand, she would purchase the same soda, and the two would converse. Soda even gave Creampuff free splites so she would return. Until one day, Soda asked Creampuff “I have two tickets to see Hinny of the Hills, you want one?” She blushed and answered shyly “S-Sure.” The curtains opened as act III began. Soda and Creampuff drink from the large cup of splite. Her face burns red as she thinks about her kiss with SodaPop, and her mind wanders from there. Soda pays no attention to the play. Instead, he casually watches Creampuff, planning his next move. The play transitions to the final act. Creampuff can’t stop thinking about Soda’s lips; she denies her desire for more. Soda notices that she’s blushing, and he gains an idea. He holds Creampuffs hoof, and feels how sweaty she is. “Are you hot?” Soda asks. “No!” Creampuff answers louder than she should have. “I mean… no.” Soda shrugs, and as he’s about to speak, the room bursts into applause. Soda and Creampuff are silent. “I-I had a great time.” Creampuff tells SodaPop, the two having just left the theater. “Yeah. Me too.” SodaPop blushes. Creampuff rubs her hoof nervously. “Would you like to get some coffee this Saturday?” SodaPop asks her. “Umm, no.” She says, “I’m busy Saturday.” “Oh… I guess I’ll see you around then.” SodaPop says sadly. Before Creampuff can respond, he leaves. Chapter 3: Memories“It-It wasn’t a date.” She keeps telling herself. Creampuff had arranged to meet her boyfriend, Novel, at the Cocoa Bean on Saturday. She entered the small coffee shop, and found that Novel had been waiting for her. She sat next to him at the petite table. “Hey.” Novel greeted her dully. And she replied “Hey.” The atmosphere was quiet, aside from the bit of jazz music playing in the background. The barista pony brewed coffee with reticence. “How’s the book coming along?” Creampuff asked. “Writers block.” Novel said, emotionless. Any hope of further conversation seemed severed. The two sat there awkwardly, while Novel drank his cocoa. Creampuff nudges Novel’s hoof, but he shrugs it off. Unsure of what to do next, she swiftly kisses him on the cheek. He’s shocked by this pitiful act of affection. Now, having captured Novel’s attention, Creampuff asks “Why are you so sad?” Novel’s hesitant to answer. He bites down on his tongue, flips through his thoughts like pages. He rests his head on Creampuff’s shoulder and sighs, “I-I don’t know.” He says, “I don’t know how to say it.” Tears began to roll down his cheeks. “There, there.” Creampuff consoles him. She can only imagine what he could have gone through to end up like this. He sniffled, “I watched… so many of my friends… die.” His face was wet with tears as he began to list off names, “IsaacSpires, Dewdrop, CrushRock, Davideth, BlueNugget, SpellCaster…” As Novel continued to list off names, his voice fell quieter and quieter until he just stopped… Creampuff stroked Novels mane as he took deep breaths. Then, he spoke in a trembling voice, “MagTremor… he had saved me, countless times. And when he needed me most…” Novel fell silent, unable to continue. Creampuff sighs, “Novel… just forget about the past and look forward to the future.” Novel looked up at her. “You should focus on your friends you have right now, on the ponies that are living. It’s okay to mourn the loss of your comrades, but now’s not the time for that.” Creampuff’s words rang in Novel’s ears like the voice of an angel. He sniffled, “You’re right. You’re absolutely right.” He said unenthusiastically. “Good.” Creampuff smiled, she kissed him softly. For once, he began to smile, breaking through the seal on his emotions. The two nuzzled up against each other in happiness. The door suddenly flew open, “Hey everypony, sorry I’m late!” SodaPop said excitedly. However, he gasped when he noticed his boyfriend, Novel, with his girlfriend, Creampuff. Chapter 4: RevelationsShocked and barely able to comprehend what’s going on before him, Soda begins a drunken rant. “You two have been fuckin’ behind my back, in my house, in front of my pet dumbass, and haven’t you!?” Novel groans, SodaPop has clearly been drinking again. “Soda, calm down, you’re drunk.” Novel tried to take control of the situation. “You know this pony…?” Creampuff whispered to Novel. Novel sighed and, was about to explain, but SodaPop interrupted him… “Novel, what are you doing with my girlfriend!?” “It wasn’t a date!” Creampuff screamed in a panic. Novel attempted to take control again. “Can everypony just calm down?” he asked, and then realized what Creampuff said. “Wait, you’ve been dating him?” he asked her. “I-It wasn’t a date!” her face began to turn a bright red. “Yeah, we fucked and everything.” SodaPop grinned. Creampuff shouted “Nothing happened!!” Novel grew very irritated, and shouted at the top of his lungs, “Would you both just SHUT UP!?!” It quickly became very quiet, everypony was staring at Novel. When he calmed down, he spoke, “Creampuff, what exactly happened?” She spoke with a nervous tone, “Well, SodaPop had invited me to see Hinny of the Hills with him. I-I didn’t know it was a date…” After a brief silence, she asked Novel “What about you?” Author's Note The story stops there. One of the two friends who inspired me to write this later revealed that she wasn't into clop. Seeing as I've been off and on with writing this, and I've lost half of the meaning to writing it in the first place, I left the story here. If you would like to read more, please notify me in the comments, and I'm hoping that in doing so, inspiration will strike me again. Chapter 1: Cold CocoaThe marketplace was busy; ponies were everywhere, going about their daily businesses, conversing, trading, and traveling. Novel, the writer pony, traveled to a small coffee-shop in the Ponyville marketplace, called the Cocoa Bean. He came here to meet his boyfriend, SodaPop. SodaPop was a Pegasus pony with sky-blue skin. “What took you so long?” Soda teased, “I’ve been waiting for you all afternoon.” Novel spoke with a dull, monotonous tone, “I’ve been working on a new book recently, you know that.” Soda laughed, “I was joking. You don’t have to take everything so seriously.” He sipped the last of his coffee. “Thank you.” Novel took a sip of his hot-cocoa, which had gone cold while Soda was waiting for him. “So, what’s this book about?” Soda asked, carrying their conversation. Novel groaned, “I don’t let anyone read my books before they are finished.” “I know! I know.” Soda said innocently, “I just want to know what it’s about.” “You’ll find out when it’s finished.” Novel growled. The two sat in silence for awhile, Novel drank his cold-cocoa. Soda, sitting next to Novel, put his hoof around him. “I have two tickets to see Hinny of the Hills.” Soda offers, “Would you like to come see it with me?” Novel sighs, “As much as I like the theatrical arts, I’m busy with my book.” He sips his cold-cocoa. “Oh… I guess I’ll have to see it by myself.” Soda says disappointedly. Novel finishes his cocoa, “If you want, I’m available on Saturday. We can meet eachother here again.” “Sure thing.” Soda grins. He kisses Novels cheek and takes off. Blushing, Novel muttered “I-Idiot.”
