Knight Artorias The Abysswalker was once a proud knight. Known for both his will of unbendable steel and skills with a greatsword all over Lordran. But, beside his skills in combat he is also known because of his pure heart . His people loved him, and he loved his people.

He never fails a mission given to him, and completes them with a deadly efficiency. One of his most recognized acts was when he stopped the spread of the Abyss in Lordran by making a covenant with the beasts there, thus destroying them from within and earning him the title "Sir Artorias The Abysswalker". The city of Anor Londo, also awarded Artorias with a silver pendant that allows him to repel dark sorceries because of this act.

His glory, however, will come to an end. When the neighboring kingdom of Oolacile called for his aid Manus, Father Of The Abyss had begun to destroy Oolacile . Artorias brought his battle-hardened great grey wolf companion, Sif to help him in his mission.

Artorias and Sif , stormed Oolacile. Eliminating many foes easily due to their past battle experiences with much more powerful foes , and when they got to Manus Artorias expected this to be another quick fight.

He was very wrong.

Manus defeated Artorias and corrupting him with the Abyss' dark powers, and simply incapacitating Sif. As a last resort, Artorias used the power of his greatshield to protect Sif from the darkness of the Abyss before falling into corruption.

Soon, Artorias would meet his end by the hands of the Chosen Undead...or so we thought.
