The Elements of Family: Chapter 1: Hearth's Warming Horror

Story Summary: When Queen Chrysalis returns and tries to suck all the love out of Equestria during Hearth's Warming, there are only five fillies who can save the day. They must unleash the power of the elements. The Elements of Family. Join the Cutie Mark Crusaders and their new friend Jasmine Changeling on a quest to save Equestria.

Chapter Summary: All the love is being sucked out of the world, causing all but the Cutie Mark Crusaders to become very weak. Jasmine, who can't stand just watching their world die anymore, uses a transportation spell to appear in front of the girls and tells offers to help them.

Everything and everypony was turning grey except for them. Nopony else at the party was feeling happy anymore. That's all the Cutie Mark Crusaders knew.

They had just been in the cellar for a second getting firewood. Ok, so maybe they had an argument as well.

Suddenly Apple Jack fell to the floor closely followed by Rarity.

"AJ!" Apple Bloom panicked as she ran to where her sister fell.

"Rarity!" sounded Sweetie Belle as she did the same with her sister.

AJ was too weak to even give any form of acknowledgment, as was Rarity. Both were breathing, though it was very shallow. It wasn't getting better or worse, though. Scootaloo and Emerald had already led Fluttershy over to a booth but she fainted the second her flank hit the seating. She was in the same condition. At this point the four young fillies were the only ones who had not left consciousness.

"I can't watch anymore! This isn't right!" Jasmine cried out in frustration with the situation.

That country didn't deserve this!

She then focused hard as a brownish aura surrounded her. A bright flash filled the room she was in and she was gone.

The four crusaders were temporarily blinded by a bright flash. When their vision returned to normal they saw a changeling filly their age approaching them. Scootaloo immediately jumped on the defensive as her idol would.

"Stay away, changeling!" she ordered.

Her fellow crusaders still had fresh memories from the changeling invasion and took the same position.

"Please! Just hear me out!" the changeling pleaded.

"Why should we?" Apple Bloom asked her voice reeking with anger.

"I'm sorry about, well, EVERYTHING the changelings did but if you want to save your home you need to listen to me." the foreign filly cried.

The four fillies looked at each other, their families and then back at the changeling.

"You've got our attention." Sweetie said flatly.

The young changeling took a breath and released

“The queen is evil. I’m sure you all know that. Every-changeling listens to her only because they are starving and she is really good at getting it. I developed a way to be fed without hurting other ponies by feeling good about having friends and feeling loved for who I am, that’s why I don’t listen to her. She was really angry about the wedding and the changelings are only getting hungrier. She is sucking all the love out of Equestria, town-by-town, to get revenge and feed her subjects. She already came here so I think we’re safe for now.” the holey filly explained, “I’m Jasmine, by the way.”

She held out her hoof in friendship.

“Emy,” the emerald unicorn said, accepting Jasmine’s hoof shake, “Now answer this question for me. What do we need to do in order to save our friends?”

“We need to get to the beloved-stone. It’s the thing that allows my way of feeding to exist.” Jasmine told the girls, “It’s in my homeland of Morpha.”

"Let's go." Scootaloo said calmly and with that the group of five were off.
