"Six months and twenty three days," the large stallion said as he paced around her. "You know the minute you stepped hoof into this regiment I knew there was something off about you. Well, now I know I was right. Still, that's a hell of a long time to gather information. What did ya find? Just curious."

She kept her mouth shut and continued to watch the stallion whom she had come to know as her Captain, not able to do anything else since she was chained to the ceiling by her front hooves, given enough space so that only one of her hind hooves touched the ground. The uncomfortable position left her arms strained and her joints tired.

The one light bulb attached to a wire on the roof was the only light source in the cement room, she guessed they were probably underground. The young mare had woken up from unconsciousness to the unfamiliar room and had waited there, terrified and confused, before the Captain showed up. At first she was relieved, somewhat, to see him, knowing that he was an excellent leader as well as a strong soldier, and that he had come to rescue her from whatever predicament she had gotten herself into. However, when she saw the flaring of his nostrils and the red in his eyes, which were both directed at her, she knew that this situation was not going to end well, it gave her something new to be frightened of. She didn't know when, why, or how they found out about her defecting for the Germanes, but they did. She shouldn't really blame herself though, it was her first mission.

Okay, she thought to herself, this was in basic training. In the event where one is compromised... yadayadayada... deny. "Please, sir," she began. "I–I don't know what you're talking abou—" she didn't have time to finish as a large hoof collided with her cheek, knocking her head sideways with an expression of surprise on her face, the pain bringing tears to her eyes. After a few dazed moments, she looked up hesitantly, tasting blood, expecting to see the angry Captain, but instead found empty air.

Confused and relieved at the same time, she looked around and found that he was at the metal door muttering words to an unknown pony on the other side, though she couldn't really hear, she managed to make out some words, "proceed" and "necessary" being ones that stood out. Her ears perked up and her breath hitched when he proceeded to give a salute with the words "Understood, your highness." It was when the pony turned around and slowly trotted away that she was able to make out the distinctive dark blue coloring  of her coat and the flowing ethereal mane.

"Princess! Princess Luna! Help me! Please! It-It wasn't me, I swear!"
