It's Been So Long, But the Show Must Go On.
"But, the night shift is dangerous!"
"If you want something else, I can supply another job, maybe in janitorial, but this is the highest paying job available. You said you needed money to buy food for your friends? This will pay enough for all of you for months on end." Mr. Faz replied. Mr. Faz was a large stallion with a brown coat, and his mane was black, but was starting to go gray. His eyes were a light blue. Gadget had heard that he was a nice enough stallion, and he was not wrong.
Gadget was a wrought-iron gray, with a quartz white mane, although years on the street had turned it an ashy gray. It was ragged and uneven, seeing as he cut it with a knife. His eyes were a dark turquoise. He, along with his close friends Gear Shift and Peck, who also lived on the streets. Gadget himself had lived his whole life not knowing who his parents were. Gear Shift's parents had died when she was only a few years old, and Peck had run away from home. Gadget loved them like sisters, but he suspected that they both liked him more. Money was hard to come by as it was, but lately, it had been getting more difficult to find bits on the street, so Gadget had taken up a job at the local pizzeria in Manehatten, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Gadget had been offered the night shift, to keep an eye on the animatronics that sang for the customers. Gadget, Gear Shift, and Peck had all gathered around the window to watch them sing and play. Gadget for one, had found them creepy, especially the Puppet. It had no endoskeleton, and Gadget was unsettled on how it could move.
Although he would never admit it, he found Chica very pretty. Maybe it was because he was into winged creatures, but she seemed so sweet and caring, and wasn't too extreme, like Bonnie and Freddy. But what Gadget found scary, was that when they were talking, something, out of context, slipped out. Words like "It's me." or "Get out of here while you still can.", but the scariest "SAVE THEM.", and he always heard "you can't.". Gadget suspected that it was more than a malfunction. Once, he had glanced into an open room labeled 'Parts and Service". In it, he'd seen the old animatronics, and that night, he couldn't sleep. Bonnie was missing his upper face, his bottom jaw barred. His right arm was a mass of wires. Freddy was covered in tears and rips. Chica was terrifying. Her beak was more like a chicken than duck, and her bottom jaw stuck all the way down, multiple teeth sticking out a odd angles. Foxy the Pirate was demonic looking. His eyes glowed in the dark, and his costume was shredded in multiple areas, and his hook was razor sharp. He'd glimpsed something gold, but he couldn't tell what it was. But the worse was something out of the stuff of nightmares. It looked like Bonnie, but it was brown, and in a worse state than himself. Its eyes glowed a ghostly white. It was an abomination. Gadget couldn't go to sleep for days after he'd seen it. Peck and Gear had begged him not to go alone. Rumors had gone around about what happened to some of the night watchmen. Freddy Fazbear costumes with eyes hanging out of the sockets. But Gadget couldn't take them into the restaurant. And Gadget knew they could hear, and he could bluff his way to being a landlord. And, he had a sonic screwdriver, while it was a toy, it was an advanced one. If he picked it up, it turned on. It reacted to his touch. He could make the animatronics think that he could fry their circuits with the press of a button.
Gadget sighed. It would be tiring, but his friends needed the food. And his friends meant more to him then anything.
"Fine, I'll take the job." Gadget said.
"Excellent! You will start tonight at midnight. One of the company's workers will be leaving you messages every night, giving you advice. You need nothing to fear from my children. They shouldn't be able to harm you." Mr. Faz exclaimed.
Gadget unlocked the door, Gear Shift behind him. Gadget walked throughout the pizzeria, finding his way to his office. When he entered, Gear Shift gasped.
"Blimey, this place is bigger than the alleyway we sleep in!" She exclaimed. Gear shift was a tiny filly. She was half Gadget's height, and Gadget wasn't that tall. She had a gunmetal gray coat, and a silvery mane, like the moon. Her eyes were a vivid pink. Her cutie mark depicted a wrench and a gear. Gear Shift was probably the most physical. On nights when Peck wasn't around, she would cuddle with him and would sing him to sleep. Gadget knew that she'd had a crush on him for quite awhile. One night, when Gear thought Gadget was asleep, she'd confessed that she really liked him. Gadget pretended that it had never happened, but he never forgot. Gadget looked around. They had walked in through the large, framed doorway that made of the majority of the front office. Children's drawings littered the walls. A large desk with monitors stacked on the edge, and a fan. Wadded up pieces of paper were scattered among the front of the desk. Monitor tablet was on the center of the desk, and on the chair was a mask of Freddy Fazbear. Strangely enough, the mask itself was gold. An exact replica of the new Freddy Fazbear, but gold. A recording device was on the right wall. Two air vents with lights to view them were on either side of the office. Gadget moved the mask off of the chair, and pulled Gear on top of it. Gadget clambered on top, and the recording device rang
"Hello? Hello, hello! Uh, well if you're hearing this, then chances are, you've made a very poor career choice..
It was soon interrupted by a different voice.
"Hello? Sorry about that, the guy who worked there before you wasn't exactly....stable. Well, Mr. Faz told me about you taking the night watch, just so your friends could get something to eat! You must really care for them, not many ponies would do a thing like that if they couldn't get something to eat for themselves. Uh, welcome to your new job at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Now, I don't know if you've heard about the old place, it was kinda left to rot. So, tonight, you'll be watching the animatronics, to make sure they don't damage themselves. So, Mr. Faz informed me that you know of the old animatronics. They're just used for repairs, since there was this glitch in their system, where if they saw a pony after hours, the pony wouldn't be recognized as a pony, but an endoskeleton without the costume on, and that is strictly against the rules here, so they would forcefully stuff night guards into suits, which would kill the guards, but we are not affiliated with the old company. So, that glitch may have passed on to the others, but they might see you as a new member of the band, and then notice your skin.
"For that, the previous guard requested a Freddy Fazbear head to be made, but a different color, since he believed that they would think he was fake. Something like that happened at the first location. So, as I'm sure you've noticed, the head is gold, kind of a remake of one of the old, discontinued models. If you put that on, anybody who gets in, should wonder out. We were going to provide you with a flashlight, but the previous guard took it, and we heard you have your own, and it should work just as well. If you go to Camera 11, you'll see an option to wind up a music box. It keeps that Puppet at bay. Do not let it go down all the way. That head won't work against it. I know your friends want to check the place out, but there is only one head, and you'll be putting them in danger. I'll talk to you tomorrow. Good night."
