Stolen
Load Full StoryI stared off in the distance, trying to come up with a reason of any kind that would convince myself to run away. No such luck there.
I did this often, climb to the hill and look out in the distance to think. I’ve been to this hill so much that I might as well call it my home. If the rock I was sitting on could talk then it would be able to tell you my life story.
I sighed and leaned forward, still unsuccessful in my attempts to find a reason to leave everything behind.
It might seem like a drastic measure to take, but I might as well. My life was going downhill fast, and there were no signs of it slowing down anywhere in sight. It all started when I was 4, the day my grandmother died. It hit me like a sledgehammer, I stopped eating, drinking, sleeping, eventually my mom and dad had to resort to force feeding me.
Eventually I decided to try and get my head up high by going out to try and find some friends, only for me to be abandoned by everyone I tried to be friends with. I then decided to just push everyone out, thinking that it’s better to be alone than with people who make me feel alone.
I looked down at the ground, watching the grass. I sat like that for a while before looking up, seeing the setting sun. I got up and began walking home to prepare for another day at school.
“Okay Twilight, you can do this.” Spike said.
Today was a big day for Twilight and her friends. Many weeks ago Princess Celestia entrusted Twilight with a spell that Celestia had found. Twilight took this with honor and tried for weeks without sleep to try and cast the spell, to no success so far. The spell was supposed to bring in a visitor from another world. Of course everypony decided that it would be wonderful for some otherworldly creature to arrive in Equestria.
She tried as hard as she could but could never get it. She had almost accomplished it the night before, but had lost her concentration when a certain purple dragon slammed the door to ask how she was doing.
“I know I can.” Twilight said in an effort to reassure Spike, and herself.
She thought she could do it, but the though of Princess Celestia knowing that she failed was just too terrifying for Twilight to imagine.
Princess Celestia was due to arrive at Twilight’s new castle later in the day, but Twilight couldn’t help but feel like she’d arrive in the next second. Twilight’s friends tried to calm her down, but the new princess couldn’t.
“Twilight!” Rarity said. “It’s alright darling. Just take a breath in and let it out.”
“Nothing is alright!” Twilight said, her mane going crazy like it did when she missed her weekly friendship report to Celestia. “I don’t have the spell ready! I need it ready now!”
“Well at least take in a breath!” Applejack said. “Just take a deep breath, and let it out to relax.”
Twilight rolled her eyes and did as her friend said. As Twilight took a breath out she could feel herself relaxing, just like Applejack had said.
“Better?” Rainbow Dash said.
“Yes.” Twilight said, repeating the process a few more times, feeling herself relaxing with each breath out. “Alright. I’m going to try one more time.”
Her friends nodded and went behind her, giving her room in the front to cast her spell.
Twilight’s horn lit up, getting brighter and brighter. Eventually it got so bright her friends had to cover their eyes to keep from going blind.
When the light dimmed away the six ponies and Spike opened their eyes, seeing a tall silhouette in the light. It looked around as if it were in a complete daze and confused about it’s surroundings.
“Twilight?” Applejack asked. “What’s that?”
Twilight didn’t answer, her eyes just went wide at the realization that she finally succeeded.
The creature turned around and looked at the seven, jumping back a bit at their sight.
The creature was finally visible now, and Twilight took a while to take notes on it’s appearance.
It had navy blue clothing on the top half of it that had a hood on the back of it, with blue jeans on the bottom half of it. It’s way bottom, which Twilight guessed were it’s feet, had what looked like a black shell protecting them.
The creature looked at them with a face of pure confusion. It opened it’s mouth but didn’t say anything. It’s words seemed to be caught in it’s throat at the sight of the seven as it couldn’t find what to say.
Twilight took time to look at the creature, thinking about how great this would be to tell Celestia. The creature just stared at her in complete confusion and fear.
I kicked a rock on my way down, thinking about what my mom would make for dinner tonight.
I saw something shiny next to my face coming up from my feet. I looked down and saw I was slowly disappearing from the bottom up. I didn’t know what to do, so I just stood there like an idiot, looking around trying to find nothing. I didn’t know what I was going to do, I didn’t know what was going on, but I couldn’t stop it.
I stared at the seven creatures in front of me, my face probably showing complete and utter shock and fear.
The purple one stared at me with a face that I could only guess is one of complete awe. I looked around at the strange room I was in and noticed it was made of what I guessed was crystals.
“Um, hello.” I heard a voice say.
I turned to where I heard it from and saw the creatures staring at me, the purple one repeating itself.
“Hi! Um, I’m Twilight Sparkle and, uh, wow.” The purple creature took a step towards me and I backed up, causing it to stop and step back.
“Yo!” The rainbow haired one said. “Can you understand us?”
I stood still and stared at them, thinking about what I was going to do next.
Then, the idea hit me, I knew what to do.
I turned around and ran to the door that, thankfully, was behind me.
I kicked the door and it swung open, revealing the outside world. I ran out the door and found myself running into a town where I was surrounded by more of the small horse looking creatures.
I stood still, watching them as they watched me back.
“Hello there.” I heard a voice say from behind me.
I turned around and held my fists up, ready to strike if needed. I saw one of the creatures that was almost as tall as me with a colorful mane staring right at me.
“I see that you’re already running around to get a nice view of this place.” The creature said. It’s voice made me think it was female. “Now, If you’ll please come with me then I shall explain everything.” The creature moved to the right and I saw there was a chariot behind her with two other horse creatures with wings there.
I thought about it for a while and nodded.
“My name is Princess Celestia.” She said. “What is yours?”
I looked at her for a while, debating whether I should say anything at all to her.
I finally gulped and told her my name. “Brendan….. My name’s Brendan.” I said.
“Well Brendan, welcome to Equestria.” She said.
