It was midnight in the crystal empire the cobble stone streets where old and crumbled under her hooves. The cold wind went by as if a ghost went past. The baby started to cry. The mare tried to hush the colt but to no avail. No pony could know she was there. She put the baby colt on a door step. She was not able to care for him in her current state so this would have to do. But before she left she wrote on a piece of parchment a word the most important word in equestrian history. The word was hope.
Living in the crystal empire was ruff for the colt. He was not a crystal pony. in fact he was quite the opposite his grey and black body was deranged of color. The only hint of color was in his eyes witch where as blue a sparkling lake. The other fillies and colts made fun of him calling him a freak and evil. The crystal empire’s orphanage called him sombra which means shadow. His orphanage’s caretaker hated him she always made him do the hard things and treated him like a personal slave. The way he was treated you’d think he was as cold and biter he looked. But he was the nicest pony you’d meet. He used to be sad but the queen felt sorry for sombra so she treated him like a son. She told him he was wonder full and if they didn't see that than they were fools. The queen was the only pony sombra loved in a long time
and this is where his story starts
