Night One

Three fillies were lured into the back room of family-friendly café, ‘Pink Amenia’s Café’ during late hours and murdered on July 15th. The surveillance cameras have identified the murderer and was tracked down and arrested. However, the bodies of the children were never found.

Police believe the pony had dressed as a mascot of Pink Amenia’s Café and earned the filly’s trust.

The sounds of rain slowly pattered on rocks right outside a small café. Movement came from the front door and employees walked out, their uniforms hiding for shelter under their jackets. My blue coat stood on end, for I had no jacket and the manager said my uniform was inside hanging in my office.

The key jingled in my mouth as I walked inside the café and I saw three pony animatronics standing on the stage. Twilight the alicorn, Fluttershy the Pegasus, and Pinkie the earth pony stood, all smiling at the wall. I trotted pass a curtain that had an ‘Out of Order’ sign in front of it. I quickly galloped through the west hallway. The animatronics stood still, but I still felt as if they would come alive like they did when I was younger.

I stood in front of a small chair, and saw a tablet in front of me. On it a note said, “Use hooves/feathers/magic to go from camera to camera.” I picked it up, and it started to flick on. I saw a small map at the bottom, and realized I was in camera 1A. Twilight, Pinkie, and Fluttershy were standing on their little stage, all still smiling off into the distance. I took my feathers and flicked to the next one, 1B. I jumped when the phone started to ring. I let it go until it came on and I heard a voice.

“Hello?” it asked, and it cleared its throat. ‘It’ was obviously a ‘she’ by the voice, but it was still fuzzy, so I was not very certain. “Uh, hi, I just wanted to record a message for you so you can get through your first night.” I kept flicking through the cameras, and looked at the clock. Still twelve o’clock. I could tell right then and there it was going to be a long night. “So, I actually worked in that office before you, as a matter o’ fact. I’m finishing up my first night tonight actually.

As she talked I kept flicking through cameras. The animatronics were still staring, the curtain was still closed, and I was still bored. I click the light on the left side of me, showing the muddy prints I would have to clean when I was done. I sighed and turned it off, soon turning to the other one to click it on. There was of course nothing there, so I turned it off.

“So, as I said, uh, I wanted to record a message for you to get past your first night. Uh, first I have to read this introductory; it’s kind of a legal thing. Uh, ‘Welcome to Pink Amenia’s Café, a restaurant where magic is alive everywhere you go. This is a filly and family restaurant, for any age and any pony. Ameniapie Entertainment is not responsible to any damage to body or property.” I froze as he said that and looked at the phone.

“What?” I said to myself, and kept listening. I put the tablet down and heard her voice go on.

She started to cough, but soon went on with her message. “So, apparently, the animatronic ponies, uh, don’t see you as a . . . living pony. They see you as an endoskeleton outside its animatronic suit. Since that’s against the rules here at Pink Amenia’s Café, uh, they’re going to try to stuff you forcefully into a Pink Amenapie’s suit. They wouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t have crossbeams and wires, especially around the facial area. You could see how that could cause discomfort . . . a-and death. ” My heart stopped and I stared at the door. I clicked on the light, and turned it off when I saw only the flickering light-bulb on the ceiling. “Now I know that sounds bad, but maybe they won’t come. D-don’t count on it, though. The animatronics used to be able to move around. Then there was the ‘Buck of 87’. It’s amazing that a filly can live after such a forceful kick.” She paused, but quickly went on. “Especially with all that brain damage . . .”

I checked the cameras, and stared in horror when I saw that Twilight was gone. I flicked to camera 1B and I saw her standing there, smiling at the hall-way next to the curtains. “Now, remember, these animatronics hold many fillies and mare’s hearts, and they’re very . . . kind, I guess. Um, yeah, if they do find you though, just, umm, just stay calm, okay?” I looked through the cameras, and saw Twilight still standing, staring at the hallway. “Alright, well . . . oh, umm check the lights in the halls. They stand there, and remember to close the doors unless absolutely necessary. Gotta conserve power, you know. Alright, uh, good night.”

I hear the phone click, and I sigh. I look at the clock, seeing two fifty a.m. sitting on it. I flick up the tablet, and start to look through the cameras. I see Pinkie and Fluttershy sitting on the stage, but Twilight was no where to be found. I put down the tablet, and turn to the door. I shakily push my hoof towards the light switch and it clicks on. My eyes shrink when I see Twilight staring at me through the door. She smiled and I quickly pressed the door button. I heard it fall to the floor, and I breathed hard as I clicked the table up again.

Fluttershy and Pinkie stood on the stage, but when I turned to Rainbow’s Cove, I saw a magenta eye peeking out at the camera. I stepped back and turned to the light button on my left. I clicked it and saw the shadow of Twilight on the wall.

I turn back to the tablet, still flicking through cameras until I got to the bathroom. Fluttershy stood there, staring out and I sighed. I suddenly saw the camera black-out and I set it down. When I picked it up, Fluttershy was gone. I checked both lights, and opened the door after seeing that Twilight was gone. I turned on the tablet and saw Fluttershy right outside my door, staring at the camera. She smiled maliciously, and I put it down again. The clock luckily said four o’clock. Two more hours, I said to myself. I kept flicking through cameras, and saw Pinkie staring at me.

The clock read five-o-three. I started to gently close my eyes when I started to hear a small laughter from outside the door. I pressed the light button and saw Fluttershy staring at me through the window. I punched my hoof onto the door button. It slammed down and I turned out the light. I started to shake, and closed my eyes once more. When I opened them, I saw that Fluttershy was gone, and I started to flick through cameras once more.

The magenta eye that was in Rainbow’s Cove still stayed there, staring at the camera. I shivered and flicked to the backstage room, seeing Twilight staring at the camera. Her eyes burned into my pelt, so I quickly set down the tablet.

I looked at the clock, then at my power, it was still at twenty percent. The time was five fifty-three. I was going to leave in seven minutes. I took off my hat, showing my blonde hair that was colored with rainbow tips, and I set it on the hook behind me. I looked at the power again and saw it was at thirteen percent. I turned to the clock, seeing five fifty-eight.

I stood still until the clock slowly turned to six o’clock and I saw light starting to leak into the room beside me. I sighed, and walked outside, seeing Twilight, Pinkie, Fluttershy once again staring at the wall, and the magenta eye gone behind the curtain.
