Spike is a young, lively stallion and a proud knight. Over his almost thirty years of life he had lived through more terrors than anypony he knew, thanks to having been raised by a dragon; the only dragon welcome in his kingdom's territory. But lately his views on life have been depressing and not even his friends or the plethora of mares all over town could ease his mind.

One day he is given a mission to slay a rogue dragon that had taken over an abandoned gold mine not far from his home in the side of a mountain. Of his own accord, he accepts the mission. Nopony could have prepared him for how much it was going to change his life.

The story is going to be slow at first, because I'm working out quite a bit of detail for this new character setup, so don't downvote if the first chapter is bad or anything.)
