The Real Story Of Scootaloo
The Only Chapter
It was a nice day in the town of Canterlot. Everyone was talking on their phones, cars always passed by, and three friends were sitting at the most quiet place in the city. The Park.
"Well, I gotta go back to ma house. Applejack doesn't like it when I don't do my chores." Applebloom said, looking at her watch.
"Me too. Rarity's designing this new dress for a famous popstar, and I gotta be there so she can fit it on me," Sweetie Belle said, getting up from the bench.
"Can I come with? I have nothing else to do," Scootaloo asked.
"Sorry, Scoots. Rarity doesn't want anyone else to see it until her next concert," Sweetie Belle replied.
"PLEASE Sweetie Belle?! I can't go home yet!" Scootaloo begged.
"Why not?" Applebloom asked, curious of her friend's actions.
"Because it's not six o'clock yet," Scootaloo said,"and I can't come home till six."
"And why can't you come home earlier?" Sweetie Belle asked.
"Because it isn't time," she responded in a whisper.
"What was that?" Applebloom asked, puzzled.
"I mean, it's not time to go home! It's only five! The moon isn't up yet," Scootaloo said, hoping that her friends would believe her lie.
"Um, okay," Sweetie Belle shrugged the response off. What she really needed to do now was go home before Rarity gets mad at her for being late.
"Well, I gotta get to my sister, so I'll see y'all tomorrow," Applebloom said as she skipped home.
"Mine too. See ya later Scoots!" Sweetie Belle said, hugging her friend then walking in the opposite direction.
Scootaloo sat back down on the bench and took something out of her pocket. It was a piece of a photo that her dad tore up. It used to be a photo of her whole family before the tragedy. Scootaloo shed one tear from her eye, and it dropped on the photo. It was the only thing that she owned that had sentimental value.
"At least you guys have someone who truly loves you," she said, and then put the torn photo back in her pocket. She sighed as she lifted herself up from the bench and took the slow journey home.
It was 5:45 when Scootaloo finally arrived to her destination. She decided to eat the food she bought on the way outside, since it wasn't time yet. Before taking the first bite of the sandwich, she thought about it and threw the food into the bush beside her home. She would eat it later. She looked at her watch again. 5:46. She sighed as she hid behind the house, waiting for time to pass.
What she didn't know was that there were two girls hidden in the bushes across the street, watching her every move.
"Why won't she just go in there?" Applebloom asked, curious.
"I don't know. Maybe her dad doesn't come home till six," Sweetie Belle responded, unsure herself.
The girls have been planning this for a week. Why Scootaloo doesn't go inside her house until six o'clock. Why she never spoke of her family. Why she was so secret. And why she always threw her food in that same bush! It drove Applebloom crazy.
"All that good food, gone to waste," Appleloom said shaking her head," what time is it?"
Sweetie Belle took her phone out."5:53. What do you think she's waiting for?"
"Ah don't know. A surprise?" Applebloom said, her hands making the sign of confusion.
Several minutes had passed, and the two girls were anxious to see what would happen at six.
"5:58." Sweetie Belle checked her phone again. They both then saw Scootaloo starting to move. They both looked through the bush to see her walking up the stairs to her house.
"Here we go," Applebloom said.
It was 30 seconds until six. All three kids were anxious about what was behind that door. The clock stroke six.
The door opened.
Rainbow Dash was sitting in her room, listening to music while playing with a soccer ball on her feet.
"So..bored," Rainbow Dash sighed. There was just nothing to do now since there was nothing good going on in her life. She has been hanging out with her friend a lot lately, but it was starting to get a little boring. She had just got home from soccer practice, which ended at 5:45, when she heard a knock on her door. She put the soccer ball down and got up from the bed. As she walked towards the door, she heard the call of her name.
"RAINBOW DASH!"
"Alright I'm coming I'm coming," Rainbow Dash groaned. She opened the door to two girls, nearly to tears.
"What's wrong guys?" Rainbow said, a little of worry in her voice.
"It's Scootaloo!" They said in unison. Rainbow Dash's eyes went wide.
"W-what about her?" She asked nervously.
The door opened.
Scootaloo was pulled inside by a man, possibly her dad. The two girls looked at each other and ran towards the house, looking in the window.
There stood Scootaloo, waiting for her fate to be revealed.
"I got a call from your school today. You and your friends dyed Miss Cheerilee's hair GREEN! What the heck is wrong with you?!" The man shouted.
"I'm sorry daddy! We didn't mean to! It was a school project, I swear!" Scootaloo whimpered.
"I don't give a crap about school! You don't dump green dye on a teacher!" A slap to the face is what the girls saw.
"Dad please!" Scootaloo pleaded," don't do this!"
"If this is the only way you'll learn, so be it!" The man took his belt off, whipping it at a screaming Scootaloo. But the girls didn't hear them. The windows were replaced with soundproof ones to drown out the poor child's sorrows.
Bu even though they didn't hear them, they knew she was screaming for help.
"Even Applejack ain't that harsh!" Applebloom said, shocked at her friend's abuse.
The whippings stopped, but it wasn't over yet. The father used his bare hands to punch his daughter wherever he could. She was in tears, which only made him punch harder.
The photo dropped to the ground from Scootaloo's pocket. The punching stopped. Scootaloo was covered in bruises, a few spots were red. Her eyes were bloodshot.
"You think this photo means any thing?!" He said. "YOU THINK THIS WILL MAKE EVERYTHING BETTER?! OH YOH REALLY DONE IT NOW!"
He threw the photo into the burning fireplace.
"NOOO!" Scootaloo shouted to the top of her lungs.
The girls didn't want I see what would happen next. They both raced towards the one friend that wasn't afraid to stand for someone.
Rainbow Dash.
Rainbow Dash was furious now. "We have to call the cops!"
"There's no time!" Sweetie Belle shouted,"By the time they show up, she gonna be dead! We gotta get there now before her dad does something really bad to her!"
"I'll get Twilight. I know she has something we can use to stop this. You guys go back there and stop this mess before it's too late," Rainbow Dash said, running out the house as fast as the pony Pegasus.
"C'mon Applebloom! Let's go!" Sweetie Belle said, and they both ran back to the house.
They were finally there.
"We gotta he in there. Now," Applebloom said in a serious tone. She walked back to the sidewalk. "Move out the way."
Sweetie Belle moved, and Applebloom ran as fast as she could, kicking the door wide open. They both went into the living room.
"Leave my friend alone!" Sweetie Belle yelled.
The man stood up from where he was and walked to the two girls. They had horrified looks on their faces.
"Y-yeah! Ya can't just hurt an innocent child!" Applebloom said, her confidence building back up. Her sass taking on a new level.
"Innocent?!" The man said irritatedly,"Oh you must have the wrong child. SHES the reason why her mother's dead!" The man yelled, pointing at his half-dead daughter.
"BUT HURTIN SOMEONE ELSE AINT GONNA BRING HER BACK!" She shouted back. His eyes became angry.
"Don't you DARE RAISE YOUR VOICE AT ME!" He shouted, a loud SMACK was heard throughout the neighborhood.
Applebloom felt her cheek forming a bruise. Sweetie Belle looked terrified.
"YOU WANNA SAY SOMETHING?!" He said. Sweetie Belle was hiding behind Applebloom.
"N-no sir," Sweetie Belle said, shaking. She glanced at Scootaloo, her eyes filled with hope and fear as she looked at her back. Sweetie then realized he had to stand up for her friend.
"YOU SIR ARE OF NO CLASS! TREATING YOUR DAUGHTER LIKE SOME CRIMINAL! YOU ARE THE CRIMINAL SIR! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF! YOU MIGHT HAVE LOST A WIFE, BUT SHE HAS LOST A MOTHER! DO YOU EVEN REALIZE THAT THIS IS THE LITTLE GIRL YOU USED TO LOVE?!" Sweetie yelled.
The man had an irritated look on his face. He literally kicked both of the girls out of there and shut the door behind him.
"AND HOW DARE YOU TRY TO KEEP THAT PICTURE!" He screamed, kicking Scootaloo once more.
SOMEONE HELP ME!!" Scootaloo shouted, but the pain kept coming.
"MOMMY!" The little girl shouted before a gunshot was heard. But before it could be made, Scootaloo had one last blow to the stomach, making her throw up.
Rainbow Dash lowered the gun with a shocked look on her face. She was panting, and so was Scootaloo. All eyes widened as Rainbow dropped the gun and ran to Scootaloo, who was almost unconscious.
"Shh. It's okay. Rainbow's here," Rainbow Dash calmed Scootaloo down. She was ballistic.
She gave in one last breath with the words,
"Thank you."
Rainbow Dash could hear the ambulance from a mile away. Sweetie Belle came into the house.
"WHERE DID YOU GET A GUN FROM?!"
"Twilight said it's her parents'. They use it for protection."
"Ah called 911," Applebloom said, standing beside a frightened Sweetie Belle.
"Oh Rainbow, why did you shoot him?" Twilight asked, fixing her black glasses.
"I-I..HE WAS HURTING HER!!! You gave me the gun."
"FOR SELF DEFENSE!"
I gotta get Scootaloo outta here," Rainbowsaid, picking her up and going out of the house. The ambulance arrived and took Scootaloo away. Rainbow sat on the sidewalk, putting her hands on her face.
"Um, excjse me miss," a police officer said, "we need to ask you a few questions."
"Here we go," Rainbow said.
Scootaloo woke up from a hospital bed. A needle was stuck in her arm, and she had a mask on.
"Huh?" She said.
Rainbow Dash was sitting beside her asleep. She turned around to see her snoring. She smiled
"Rainbow," she said, shaking her a little so he could wake up.
"Squirt?" Rainbow asked, scratching her head. "SQUIRT!" She yelled. She hugged her tight.
"Room..getting..darker," Scootaloo joked. Rainbow kissed her on the cheek.
"I'm so glad you're okay!" You've been out for about a week. Sorry I killed your dad," Rainbow said.
"It's alright. I knew he only did this out of grief for my mom. After all, I'm the reason why she's dead," she sighed.
"No you're not," Rainbow said, trying to cheer her up, "she wanted to give you life. Stuff like that happens all the time with childbirth."
"It's no one fault."
