Chapter 1: Delete
“COME ON!!! GET GOING!!!” A light grey pegasus stallion with a neon blue mane was shouting as fire erupted from the withered ground. “Help me!!! My leg!!! It’s broken.” a pink pegasus cried out. “We must move, quickly!” A stone-colored pegasus yelled as he picked the pink pegasus up frantically. A green burst of light blasted the ground, causing a violent explosion. “Delete. Delete. Delete.” a cold, monotone voice spoke the infernal words. “Let’s go Mindgames!” the blue maned pony screamed. “I’ve got to save Krystal!” shouted the stone colored stallion. “Delete the rebellion. Delete. Delete.” Another blast screamed through the air, causing another explosion. “We... must get outta here…” Krystal panted heavily. “Delete.” The blast nearly hit both Mindgames and Krystal, only missing by a hair. “Can you fly Krystal?” Mindgames began sweating bullets from worry. “I-I-I think so boss…” the pink pony was gasping. “Aquaflare! We have to get away by flight!” Mindgames shouted running as he unfolded his wings, tossing Krystal into the air as she took flight hesitantly. “Right on!” Aquaflare ran at his fastest, flying in an S-trail. “Delete. Delete. Delete.” Two silver machines shot at the three Pegasi. The three pegasi travelled many miles, avoiding these blasts, worrying each time that one would hit them. “M-M-Mindgames... I’m tired…” Krystal began losing consciousness due to exhaustion, losing altitude she began falling. “NO!!! Krystal!” Mindgames flew quickly to catch the pink pegasus, succeeding, he lowered to the ground gently. “What the hell guys? We’re on the run! We don’t have time for this!” Aquaflare shouted. “Relax Aqua... they retreated….” Aqua heard Mindgames’s words and flew towards him gently making a landing. “Sooo... what now brain boy?” Mindgames put on his Sonic Goggles and with his T-ray vision, he saw something of interest. “I see a bunker a small distance away… underground... we can rest there...” Mindgames panted from exhaustion due to excessive flying. The two stallions picked up their friend and walked towards the entrance. “Allow me Aqua.” Mindgames scanned the lock with his goggles, opening it with relative ease. “Heh... These past ponies weren’t so clever with these locks…” Aquaflare was the first to enter the bunker, he managed to find a light switch, and was surprised to find that this place had working electricity. “I think this place was ran by the military, Mindgames.” He walked toward a cabinet and began digging inside it, finding some hay and began eating it. “There’s no way this coulda been public. It has electricity and even food in here.” Mindgames was walking around the room, inspecting several things such as cabinets and drawers. Mindgames then opened a tight steel door. “Aqua, it seems this is where the beds are… I’m going to lay Krystal down. Then we can eat together. Understood?” Mindgames stated to his assistant. “Fine boss. Just be quick about it, I’m starved!” Aqua said with his stomach grumbling. “Very well Aquaflare…” Mindgames trotted to the room and picked up some hay as well. He sniffed the crop, enjoying the smell of food. “After I eat, I’m going to bed Aqua, I advise you to do the same.” Aqua sighed. “Finally I can get some sleep in my life…” Aqua trotted off to bed quickly. Mindgames stared at his last bit of hay, wondering about his father, the stallion his mother always talked about. “Who was he?” He muttered to himself as he took the last bite and headed off to his own bed, falling asleep almost instantly from exhaustion...
…
“Mommy look at me fly! Look at me fly!” An adorable stone grey colt started rising through the warm air and tall oak trees slowly and clumsily, Derpy smiling at him “Don’t go too far Mindgames or you might just fall!” She giggled and flew with her son slowly and gently, making sure the colt was safe. “Careful Mindgames! Don’t fly too fast!” Derpy hollered as her colt began to start to struggle through the air, losing altitude slowly. “Wh-wh-whoa! Help me mommy!” Mindgames scuttled through the air, flapping faster and faster as he began to fall. “GOTCHA! My poor baby!” The soft grey colored mare held Mindgames with her front hooves and carried slowly down to the forest floor. Mindgames smiled at his mother warmly as did she. This is the forest my mother and I always play in, I think it’s called… The Everfree forest! Her name is Derpy Hooves. My mommy is so beautiful, her eye is special and her mane is so bright like a sun! I love her so much! She always seems to save me no matter what! “I love you Mommy!” The colt gave his mother a peck on the cheek as his mother said “I will always love you Mindgames!” the mare nuzzled her baby on the forest floor as some spring leaves flowed through the air and the sun shimmered a warm yellow. Suddenly, the clouds began to go black as coal. It seemed like the trees and grass were losing every inch of their color. It was as if everything was turning to stone, heavy trots were heard as Mindgames was as the ground shook. There they stood, the silver menace, the cold wretched things that made them live in The Everfree forest to begin with. His mother saw them, quickly picking the colt up as quickly as she could as they commanded something that sounded too familiar to Mindgames, “Delete. Delete. Delete.” Trees began catching on fire as they shot at us. The energy they shot set the trees ablaze, branches of fire falling towards the two pegasi. Derpy snatched her colt and began flying at great speeds, trying to avoid the burning branches. “M-m-mother! What are those things?! I’m scared!” I whimpered with fear as I saw the silver metal ponies marching throughout the forest, our home. “Shh… Mommy’s here for her colt! We’ll get- AHHHHHH!!!!!” Before I knew it, Derpy was hit by a falling tree branch, both screaming as she was losing control of her flight. We were knocked out of the sky, my mother crashing with me. Derpy’s left wing was injured, but we managed to break our fall in a nearby patch of leaves, though my mother’s leg was broken. “M-m-mother, what’s happening?!” I began tearing up, seeing my home destroyed. My mom whimpered from her pain, her metal anklet glowing a yellow light. “Those are The Cyberponies, Mindgames. You gotta get out of here!” Derpy yanked her anklet off of her leg, hurriedly putting it on her colt as metallic hoofsteps were being heard. “This is my emergency teleportation machine, slam the yellow screen when I say to son! NOW!” “Delete.” a blast fire hitting Derpy clean in the neck, electrocuting her to death. Mindgames could only watch as his mother dropped dead, her eyes looked as if they were turning to glass, and her posture went limp. “DELETE. DELETE. DELETE.”
