The New Equestrian Mystery: A Christmas Tale
Her name? Crafted Dusk. She is a 16-year-old mare who dwells in Ponyville as an artist. Her past? None of your business. She sat by the river, one hoof in the water. She loved the sound of water. That's why she lived by the river. It was a rainy day. Drip...Drop...Rain splashed into the lake. She closed her eyes and drifted. She thought of the days that had passed and the days that were to come. Will she die young? Will she get married? Will she have children? These questions seemed to drift in her mind forever.
A familiar voice called her name. "Crafty! Hey Crafty! Craaaaaftyyyy! Watchya doin' lying on the middle of the street?" Jelly Jam yelled in her ear. She sat up and wiped my hoof clear of water. "Oh, um, nothing..." She said, looking out into the river. "Were you doing that thing again where you just sit there and say nothing for like, 10 bajillion hours?" She chirped.
"I was there for 15 minutes." She said, rolling her eyes.
"Well, it seemed like 10 bajillion hours!" She said, trying to be silly. She stood up and grabbed my sketchbook. It had a beautiful sketch of a river on it. She levitated it into my bag and took off, with Jelly Jam prancing back to her jelly stand.
She opened the door to her house and took off her scarf. It was winter, and it was odd that half of Ponyville was drenched in snow while the other has not a single snowflake. Crafted Dusk's house was nestled peacefully between a restaurant and a post office. She liked it that way. It gave her more quiet for her to draw. She checked the clock and realized she needed to go somewhere soon. A meeting with her best friends. She laid on her bed and drifted again. An image came in her mind. A world full of hate and danger emerged from her brain, a world where nopony cares about anypony else, and evil lerks around every corner. She shivered at the thought of a world like that. The clock struck 10 and it was time for her to leave for the meeting. She grabbed her scarf and pulled it tightly to her neck. She cut off the lights and set off into the black of night.
Crafted Dusk trotted to the Town Hall, where they were meeting. All of her friends stood there, Blue Star, Jelly Jam, Circular Flames, Taffy Gum, but only one was missing. Diamond Jewel. She is ALWAYS late. They waited a few minutes for her to arrive.
"Let's just start!" Blue Star yelled. "First come first serve, am I right, girls?"
"Calm down, she'll arrive soon." Crafted Dusk said, pulling the cyan pegasus down to the ground.
"But we've been waiting, like, FOREVER!" Whined Jelly Jam. Crafted Dusk rolled her eyes. Diamond Jewel burst through the doors, bringing in cold air and a suitcase.
"What's that for?" Asked Crafted Dusk.
"Oh, you'll see. I got it from Princess Sky Heart while visiting the Crystal Empire. It is the encasement for one of the most largest and expensive crystals in Equestria. Mined fresh from the Crystal Mountains!" Bragged Diamond Jewel
"Sounds nice. But last I heard, the company you worked for, Hoofentire I think, got bankrupt. How did you afford it?" Asked Circular Flames.
Diamond Jewel hugged the suitcase and turned away "None of your business, Ms. Nosy!"
"Well, that was a failure" Crafted Dusk thought the next morning. She got up from bed to get to work. She ate breakfast and put on her scarf. She then trotted outside. It was even colder than all the years before. The pink, flaming heart lying above the towns Christmas tree was growing smaller, but Crafted Dusk didn't know what to do. She pandiculated and shivered. A letter from Princess Blu Portal fell on her head. She levitated it and unrolled the scroll, revealing a letter.
Dear Crafted Dusk, it has come to my attention that lots of hatred has spread recently and the friendship heart is growing weaker. I will need you and your friends to go to the Frozen North and retreive an Emeraldic Diamond. Sincerely, Princess Blu Portal.
Crafted Dusk galloped to her friends houses and gathered them at the train station, where they boarded for The Crystal Empire. The girls talked on about the Crystal Empire and how beautiful it was to the eye. "Did you hear that Princess Sky Heart was the first pegasus that was turned into an alicorn?" Asked Crafted Dusk
"No way!" Said Diamond Jewel "I thought she was born an alicorn! But it does make a lot of sense that she was originally a pegasus. It's amazing. How did she do it?"
"By spreading lots of love, she got turned into one by Princess Flame Alicorn!" Said Crafted Dusk. She smiled and yawned "Time to get to sleep, I guess." She said.
Author's Note
I created this story based off of me and my best friends and what we would do in reaction to certain events in the Equestrian world. It will be on hold until someone suggests I continue with it. Just as a note, all of these ponies are the new mane six, the old mane six are dead, there is a whole new generation including new princesses, blah blah blah, you get the point.

The six lively ponies arrived at their stop. They stepped off the train and looked around. "Wow, look at this scenery!" Exclaimed Taffy Gum. She inhaled the fresh air and picked up her bag with her mouth. "So, we're staying here for three nights, right?" Asked Circular Flames.
"Correct, and we need to remember to stay focused while hunting for that gem." Said Crafted Dusk.
"EEEEEE! Crystal everything! Don't you know how absolutley BEAUTIFUL my mane would look in crystal form?" Fangirled Diamond Jewel.
"Focus, Diamond." Said Crafted Dusk "We need to get to our hotel. The Gemerald Cortez is what they call it."
"OOOH! I BET THEY HAVE TONS OF CRYSTAL FOOD! AND CRYSTAL CANDY!" Said Jelly Jam, joyfully. Crafted Dusk rolled her eyes. They ponies chatted and walked until they reached the hotel. They went inside and Crafted Dusk paid for rooms. She paid for two, since every room could only fit three ponies. The first room had Jelly Jam, Blue Star, and Crafted Dusk. The other room had Circular Flames, Diamond Jewel, and Taffy Gum.
It was night, and in room 512, Blue Star, Jelly Jam, and Crafted Dusk were having fun. They were gossiping, talking about books, and having pillow fights, just like normal mares. Suddenly, a rumble came from outside. The Crystal Heart was getting unstable, and it looked like it was about to fall out of it's socket. But it wasn't the heart that was causing the rumble. A giant storm rushed over the Crystal Empire. Ponies on the streets ran inside to savor their baskets of food and animals ran into the shelter of the trees. A daisy from somepony's garden hit the window. The ponies got worried, for they had never seen a storm like this in all of their lives living in Equestria. "We'd better get to bed." Said Crafted Dusk, rubbing her eyes and accepting the fact that she is tired. "It'll clear up tomorrow." The other ponies nodded and got in bed.
The next morning, it was a sunny day. A few trees had been knocked down and the train station wouldn't be active until tonight. Circular Flames yawned and got out of bed. Everypony else was still asleep, so she thought she'd better prepare to go hiking. Still, the other ponies would take a lot longer if she did this, so she woke everypony else up. They all got prepared and stood in front of the hotel door.
"So, we need to set off into Mauler Cave, where the Emeraldic Diamond should be found." Said Crafted Dusk, checking her map. "But there should be a lot of unknown creatures in there, too, so I brought my spell book. Did everypony else bring a weapon?" The ponies looked around. Crafted Dusk rolled her eyes "Well, it's too late now. Let's head to the mountains"
The ponies were hiking in the Frozen North. "It's so cold up here! Why couldn't the gem have been at a cave by the beach?" Complained Diamond Jewel.
"We're cold too, but we need to find this crystal!" Said Blue Star.
"Well, I NEED to go home!" Exclaimed Diamond Jewel. The ponies sighed and stopped in front of a cave.
"This should be it." Said Crafted Dusk, looking up from the map. The ponies entered with Crafted Dusk and Diamond Jewel's horns lighting the way. A small animal hissed at the ponies. Diamond Jewel screamed and tried to run away, but Blue Star grabbed her tail before she could escape. Crafted Dusk took out her spell book and used a lightning spell on the small creature. The animal collapsed and dropped a few coins from it's mouth. It screeched and died with a completely burnt body.
"Ew!" Yelled Diamond Jewel. A few bats flew over their heads, yet they braved on. They fought monsters, and near the end of the cave, there was the Emeraldic Diamond! But, there was something behind it...It was a huge, white, green-eyed, wyvern! It roared at the ponies.
Blue Star made a war face and screamed "BRING IT, WIMP!" She flew at the wyvern and kicked it in the face. She flew around it, distracting it. "GO!" She yelled at the girls. Circular Flames took out her emergency lighter and light the wyvern's tail on fire. It roared in pain. Jelly Jam threw rocks at it that did hardly anything, but Crafted Dusk used lightning and paralysis spells on him. The dragon fled with the gem in his claws.
