The Magician and Musician
Chapter 1: The Ever-Changing World
It was a blistering hot summer day, the sun shown down, the sky cloudless. along a nicely kept road our story starts with a light blue pony, her purple hat shading her eyes from the glaring light. We fall upon Trixie Lulamoon, pulling her carriage, stage and home to her next gig, a planned show in Fillydalphia which was supposed to get her name out there in the world again after her last Problematic trip to Ponyville.
"Well," started Trixie, exasperated "it could be worse, and I think I see the city. Just a few more minutes of walking." she was sweating heavily, sighing she wiped her brow and moved along. She couldn't tell if she really wanted this gig but she knew that it had been set up for a while now, just a few months and the world would forget her if she didn't do this.
Trixie walked up to the city, a new venue with a new feel and a fresh audience, she couldn't wait for tonight, her show was going to rock the globe this time. She had been working this routine for a few years now; she had just perfected it, a show made to get the highest ratings and entertain all ages with no tricks. The carriage she had been pulling was starting to feel heavier for some reason, Trixie just thought she was getting tired. She smelled something sweet, it was familiar to her, yet she couldn't quite put her hoof on it. Turning the corner she decided to try and find the source of the smell, maybe wherever it was coming from would have some affordable food.
"Hey, what are you looking for ma'am?" a stranger approached, he was a lavender unicorn stallion with black and purple mane, his basic style was a top hat and a shirt with the collar unbuttoned. He looked at Trixie softly and spoke the same, his tone made her spine tingle and her hair stand, but not in a bad way. He pulled his glasses up his nose with his magic as she stood there with her mouth half open trying to find the words to explain.
"ah... but... ah..." she cleared her throat, "I'm sorry, i'm looking for an affordable cafe or restaurant nearby, would you be able to help me?" she blushed, other stallions never made her feel this way.
"For sure" he responded kindly, "may i ask though, what's your name? i can't exactly just call you ma'am, it's too formal, and while i can be," he looked around, "I don't see a ballroom around us."
"Just call me Trixie." she said, "what's your name?"
"Chrome, " The stalion replied, "Chrome Blade, and a man of my word." he looked behind himself and pointed with his hoof, "Over there is a cafe I frequent, it has some very good food and is reasonably affordable, i don't make much but i can always go there for a quick drink or some muffins." He rambled on a bit awkwardly and looked back, she was staring at him her eyes mesmerized, entranced with him, she tensed up and thanked him, offering to buy him a drink. declining he said that he was just leaving there when he noticed her. "I guess this is goodbye for now Trixie, but don't worry. I have the feeling we'll be seeing each other again soon enough." he winked and walked away, pulling out his hookah pen and taking a long drag.
Trixie stared as he walked away saying his name under her breath she wandered into the cafe, where had she heard that before? But more important, she finally recognized the smell, chocolate and java, the entire cafe smelled like it. "Chrome Blade, where have i heard that?" she walked up to the counter and asked for a latte, four sugar lumps, two hits of cream and a chocolate chip muffin.
"Something on your mind?" the barista pony asked.
"What does the name Chrome Blade mean to you?" Trixie asked, staring off into the distance, her question didn't have an exact answer but she knew that whatever answer is was she wanted it more than being left in the dark.
"Chrome Blade?" the barista looked at Trixie with the drink in her hand, "well he's a regular, has three special talents somehow all in one cutie mark, and is a famous musician pony who lives nearby in this city. Why do you ask?"
"No real reason." Trixie paid for her food, walking out of the cafe she found her carriage out front, finishing her food and heading to the town hall, the person she was supposed to meet was there, a younger man who had asked for her to perform. When she was writing letters to him before, it was when she was calling herself the Great and Powerful Trixie, a time which she was happy to pass after a while. Her title was probably more of a stage name in all honesty, and when she reached town hall she was ready to talk business instead of dwell on the past.
She walked in and approached the service desk, asking the secretary which room her meeting was in, she said trixie and the mare immediately pointed to the room just right of the desk.
"You're later than expected." the man said at the other end of the table, he had his back turned to her and looking out of the third floor window, the room faced almost nothing but taller and taller buildings, she wondered what he was looking out at.
"I know, i had to get some food since i was exhausted walking here." Trixie was annoyed, she just wanted to get this all over with and get her pay. "so when should the show start today? I was thinking just around sundown, or maybe dinner?"
"There will be no show, i sold your slot."
"Oh ok... wait, WHAT?!"

Chapter 2: The Design of Angered Love
"What do you mean you sold off my time-slot?!" Trixie exclaimed angrily.
"Pay is pay, checks talk more than people, and money talks more than anything. Your little game show isn't worth anything in this economy doll face." The producer explained annoyed, "With this world, you must have seen this coming."
"How could I see this coming, we had this planned out for almost half a year!" she screamed, ready to kill him, she breathed deeply, "At least tell me, who bought out my time slot?"
"I think his name was... Clone Blast? Well, it was something like that."
"Well whoever it is they're going to hear from me!" Trixie, red with anger, stormed out of the room, grabbing her carriage and trotting through town. She wanted somewhere to stay, a hotel, a friends house, even a small stable or tent. She thought of if she should use her normal mobile home, but she decided that it would be a waste, not enough space to think. Soon she was trying to remember the name of anyone she knew in the area, but only one came to mind, Chrome Blade. She just met him, but she knew she could trust him. Her only problem, Where the hell does he live?
Trixie wandered town for a few hours, checking out the stores, trying to find Chrome, and just asking around for if anyone had seen him. After a while she was just starting to get bored, she decided just to go back to the coffee house and see if they knew.
"Well, if it isn't Miss Mysterious." a calm and familiar voice called, Trixie turned around and looked around for the black; purple mane, it didn't take her long to find him, he was leaning against the building about ten feet away, his face a kind smile. With a naturally seductive glance he made her blush more than a foal on Hearts and Hooves Day.
"Umm... Uhhh... oh! Heh heh, hey. Sorry I was a bit distracted."
"It's okay. What is it you want to ask me,? I mean you went to all the trouble to find to me, there has to be something?"
"Oh yeah! I was hoping for a place to stay for a while, I don't exactly know anyone from around this area and i thought you wouldn't mind much."
"While I don't mind, I'll be at the event tonight. Maybe we could go together? I... I mean it's all up to you and I don't mind you saying no, it's up to you." Chrome stuttered out.
"Yeah, I was planning on going to that anyway, and it would make me feel better if i knew someone there." Chrome didn't seem very surprised at the fact that she was going, but what was it that made her feel worried.
"Let's head to my place and get ready for tonight, i'm sure you'll want to get changed and have me get your ticket." He started walking, once again smoking his Hookah pen, breathing deeply and relaxing. When they made it to his house Trixie was amazed, it seemed like a small mansion! Trixie walked right in, as Chrome opened the door, the tile floor clicked under her hooves, quietly echoing taps. on either side of the foyer was a set of armor which had been custom made; the weapons they were holding seemed well designed and as new as yesterday showing some wear-and-tear.
"You can have your choice of rooms if you want doll, but there isn't much furniture in any rooms other than mine and my living space."
"Well... where are the bedrooms? I'll just put my stuff in there and get ready."
"They're upstairs, turn right and keep going until you find the second door on your right. that's a bedroom." chrome paused to think, "If you want to use my bedroom since there's a personal bathroom in there it's up the stairs same path the first room on the left." Chrome smiled.
"Um... I'll use your room, and maybe we could share it tonight? I don't usually spend time in others houses and I'm interested in talking after the show."
"That makes sense." chrome leads the way and and stops before the door to his room, "It's usually a small place but I cleaned up a bit since I thought a guest might be coming over, plus I needed to get ready myself." Chrome opened the door, showing the dark burgundy room with a large window that leads out to a balcony. the room was furnished in darker colors than the rest of the home, with more deep reds, blacks, and some nice grey highlights. the rug was soft under Trixie's feet as she walked in and halted her wagon, it seemed like she may not need much from inside it tonight.
"I forgot to ask what type of show is it tonight?" Trixie turned around to look into her closet, opening up to a plethora of dresses, gowns, and other clothing.
"It's a small show, not rock or anything, just some classical guitar and vocals, accoustics. I don't think i know anypony who will wear anything as fancy as a gown, but i'd dress nice." Chrome pointed to a simple dress in Trixies closet "Maybe that red one."
"Wow, I didn't think that one would work. It's not normally my style." Trixie turned her head blushing into the darkness of the room, the near disappearance of Trixie's face was hint enough. Chrome backed away.
"I'll leave you to get ready, I'll use the other room since I keep what I need in there."
"Ok," Trixie replied, her face cooling down from the sudden rush of blood. "I'll see you downstairs when i'm ready." Chrome bowed in her direction leaving the room.
"I look forward to seeing you."

Sorry this took me so long to put out guys, my computer has been overridden with viruses and my mouse stopped working, I'll try to update from school more often. See you later.
