Chapter 1
A Wish Fulfilled
After splitting up with my previous girlfriend I decided to lay low, I guess that was my first mistake. There had been several before her, some that I don’t want to name, others that I simply can’t. None of them lasted very long, a month or two at most, all of them ending bitterly. Currently, I am wandering around my flat, packing all of my possessions into cardboard boxes. I shoot a glimpse at the TV, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Season 3 Episode 13 - ‘Magical Mystery Cure’ is on. My ex liked watching MLP with me, it was one of those things she really got into. She would art-proof for me, help me with proportions and occasionally inspire or finish some of my drawings.
That was before we broke up. Afterwards, she became moody, and would make snide sarcastic quips that almost sounded satirical or ironic, they were all about ways that I could improve. Some of these were obvious others were just minute details such as ‘only fold your shirts three times’ to paraphrase. My general attitude towards this kind of thing happening has slowly turned into a deadpanned response to life in general. When I discovered the fandom, I had been browsing the internet and found fimfiction.net, one of the less unnerving websites. Granted there are certain…unique users that prefer to view the ponies in a more adult manner, I wasn’t one of them.
As a race humans are slightly perverted, we created ‘The Rules of the Internet’ for fuck’s sake. We also have a really enlarged ego, for example, we see ourselves as a superior species to other animals, and as such, eat the ones that we find appetizing. But that’s beside the point. As I was saying before I went off on a tangent, I found fimfiction.net and began to peruse some of the more child friendly stories, my favourites included ‘I’ll Always Be There for you’, ‘A Circle Has No End’, and ‘My Little Heartbreak’. They all had aspects I could relate to, IABTFY had an isolated pony adopted by Twilight and Rainbow Dash, ACHNE had headstrong characters that would do things without thinking them through thoroughly beforehand. My Little Heartbreak, I guess was the weak link, I couldn’t really relate to Heartbreak, besides the slightly ridiculous amount of ‘bitter ends’ and overuse of references, the ‘sad’ thing was, I actually got the references.
After making sure I have everything packed, I flop onto my bed, roll over and fall asleep. I wake up, my vision hazy, and in a room that I don’t recognise. The walls seem to be made from what I can only imagine as once white tiles, the roof has several large vines hanging down and the floor appears to be eroding away. I hear a faint hissing sound, as a peculiar scent fills the room and pass out. I awaken yet again to find myself in some kind of cryogenics level stasis chamber. I panic slightly before a small grid of screens appears, I look at the screens. They seem to be arranged haphazardly, the faces on them are familiar yet different. All of them seem to be female anthropomorphic dogs or cats that have a humanoid form. “Let me guess, you are nine of the Fae…” I ask, a deadpanned look adorning my face. “Actually, no, we aren’t.” replies a familiar voice, I can’t place my finger on it, but It’s definitely somebody that I used to know. “We are similar creatures but different. We do still have to power to do what they can though.” Fuck….This can’t be good. “Unfortunately we have decided that you must be banished from this reality, to one you know well.” Another voice I recognise says.
Oh god, this can only end badly. I try to struggle, to break free of this chamber, to do…something, but all in vain. The only thing that I manage to do is hurt my wrist. “Before you banish me, answer me one thing” I say, desperately trying to prolong my time in this universe. “What do you want?” the first voice asks angrily. “If you aren’t the fae, who are you?” I ask innocently. “We are the aef and you my dear friend have hurt all nine of us, and the Council of the Nine came to the unanimous decision to banish you.” The Nine ‘Aef’ say simultaneously. I look to the side briefly, as if looking at an audience, before looking back and replying “Aef? Council of the Nine? The first part seems Improvised and the second is remarkably familiar.” Actually, thinking about it, that sounds kinda cocky. “Alright you caught us, we are part of the Fae, and two of us lent a hoof in banishing Heartbreak.” Says one of the Fae, a red-headed one with a stereotypical country accent. Fuck, that’s where I know them from.

DAMMIT! The My Little Heartbreak – Heartbroken story is playing in my head. “Let me guess, you’ll strip me of my very being, identity, etc., leave me with only my memories and then to top it off steal my name…” I say rolling my eyes at the cliché. “I’d ask how you know all this but I already know all about you.” A regal looking Fae says, her arms crossed, her brow half-furrowed. “Hi Queen Tatiana” I say quasi-smugly. “Good day” Tatiana replies, deadpanned. Tatiana…..That isn’t the name she went by as a human, I wonder where I remember it from. “So let me guess, you have ‘Doug’ in the back, just waiting for your order to send me to some random universe.” I remark. “It truly is remarkable how level-headed you are being, you certainly weren’t like that before you hurt me.” The redhead snaps.
“Huh, that is interesting” I think to myself “You know people change right?” The redhead looks at me angrily, “Then again, I did say that in a condescending way”. “Anyway back to banishment, are you going to wipe any evidence of me existing off the face of the earth?” I ask a smug look adorning my face. “Wow I really am I know-it-all” I think as realisation dawns in my brain. I probably shouldn’t be this way to them, it will only make them angrier. “We hadn’t thought about that” Queen Tatiana replies her voice dripping with sarcasm “Of course we are going to wipe you off the planet completely, what do you think we are, idiots?”
“Nope, just wondering.” I reply bluntly. “It has been decreed that you are to be banished from this universe, and all evidence of you wiped from existence.” The Nine reply simultaneously. The capsule containing me is surrounded in a field of colour and propelled forward, causing me to become light headed. When the feeling subsides I look about my surroundings, it is nothing but a void. “We could do this slowly, but we won’t have enough time, you know how it goes. The one thing we will do is rename you” A female sounding voice says. “P-H-A-N-T-A-S-M-A-E-E-R-I-A” Nine voices erupting from nowhere shout in unison. “Phantasma Eeria. The first part because you were nought but a ghost, with an illusion of romance when you existed on Earth, and Eeria because you’re obsession with a little girl’s TV show is creepy.” Tatiana says
I see what appears to be a wall ahead of me. “Wait, the universe is seemingly endless, is that the wall joining this reality and the next” The rational part of me says. “Whatever it is, it’s coming towards us. FAST” the less rational part replies. I flinch as the brilliant white of the wall shatters when the capsule containing me hits it. With a jolt, I am ejected from the capsule and hear the noise of a distant explosion. I open my eyes and regret it almost instantly, a flood of rainbow spills over me, and sends my senses into overdrive. I hear orange, see red, feel blue and taste violet.
The assault on my brain from all the impulses from my senses is soon over as I am propelled out of the rainbow fluid. I look at the floor and think that it might hurt. I flail at the ground as if trying to fly. When I come into contact with the floor, I manage to get a few paces through it before falling straight through it. “How does anything stay up on tha-“ The sight of what the floor leads to becomes evident. A sheer drop. I recognise the scene below me but can’t think of where from. Suddenly the opening sequence from MLP FiM plays in my head. “Oh look I’m in Equestria” I think aloud. “Wait a minute, isn’t that Twilight’s castle?”

“Erm, right, about to die, what do I want my last thought to be?” Little help brain?
