Passing the entrance Exam

This was it, the final race which determined who became a Wonderbolt and who went home. Soarin was confident, being the contestant with the highest amounts of points. This, he had envisioned and dreamed about since he was a colt and he was so close to tasting victory of his long life aspiration. The starter pony entered off the side of the starting line and counted down.

“Three… two… one,” - the pony’s starter gun shot, signaling the start of the race “go!”

Soaring exploded out of the start, covering his opponents behind in clouds that blew off from his ebullient take off. He raced through the obstacles and nearly hit some as he neared super sonic speeds. He quite frankly left his competition in the dust, well almost all of them. A grey stallion rocketed behind Soarin, gaining on him as he weaved in and out of rings and bridges. He and Soarin were neck and neck and the last obstacle was in sight, unfortunately for the two only one could fit at a time and after this obstacle was the finish. Soarin huffed a deep breath to accommodate the extra speed he needed to get in front of his competitor. His attempt proved successful as the challenger was forced to slam into the obstacle and nearly. He flew to the finish with nearly enough speed required to cause a sonic rainboom. He was greeted at the finish line by his competitor and a recognizable yellow mare.

“ Wow, rookie, you nearly became the second most recent pony to perform a sonic rainboom,” She exclaimed “ and I might include a new academy record! I’ve been waiting for a stallion of your ability to join my ranks. Oh yeah, if you don’t already recognize me already, I’m Spitfire, how’s about you?”

“Soarin and it’s an honor to meet you. Am I correct that Captain Windgale is resigning soon, leaving you to be captain?”

“ Yes, the rumors are true. It’s both sad and exciting for us all. Anyway who’s your rival, Soarin?”

“ Fleetfoot’s the name and racing’s my game,” Fleetfoot exclaimed proudly.

“ Yeah and crashing into the last obstacle is too,” Spitfired quipped “ You need a bit of work with control. And I should add you and your buddy are on the team!”

“Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh,” Soarin shouted like a school fillie in the presence of their pop idol.

“ Well somepony’s excited,” remarked Spitfire “ Let’s eat while talking about each other in the mess hall and discuss your schedule and rules and what not.”

So the three members entered into the mess hall and luckily they had first pick of meals since they finished first. The food was warm and fresh, perfect meal to have after an anguishing try outs.

“ So where are you two from and how did you become interested in joining the wonderbolts,” inquired Spitfire.

Soarin answered first,” I’m from Cloudsdale and I become interested in becoming a wonderbolt since my uncle was the wonderbolts talent scout. One day he invited me and my family to attend a race and I accidently said I wanted to race. My parents were excited to have a superstar son so they pressured me to enter junior speedsters race league. I didn’t want to race at first and only did it to avoid disappointing my parents. I then started racing and the naturally begun to warm up to it. Ever since then I’ve been trying to join the Bolts.”

Next was for Fleetfoot,” I’m from Ponyville, surprising considering most pegasuses are born in Cloudsdale. When I was eight I moved to Cloudsdale and saw my first race. Not only was I wanting to race because it seemed naturally pleasing, but also since my father was a Wonderbolt in that race. Ever since then I’ve been trying to carry on my new-formed family tradition.”

The three continued to discuss Wonderbolts procedure and policy. After that they got to know each other better. Fleetfoot started to become bored with conversation and left the two to go talk to the other new members. The two finished their meals and then continued their conversation.

“You know, Soarin, even though I’ve only known you for about twenty minutes, you’re quite an interesting stallion. Hey, since the captain and I aren’t going to share the same room anymore, how’s about you live with me,” Spitfire remarked then continued in a seductive voice,” You know you can be my assistant captain if you earn it,” she winked with a taunting grin.

Soarin was trying to half believing that she was offering. It wasn’t because he didn’t understand what was going on, rather he was half pretending to make it out a different way. Yes, he had a crush on her since she joined the bolts but he had only known her for twenty minutes. The thing was though it felt like they knew each other for years, must be since they have a lot in common. The prospect of immediately becoming assistant captain and his first ride was irresistible on the other end. In the end these two promises were almost too good to be true and decide for it.

“ Soarin, hello, hello,” asked Spitfire, breaking Soarin out of his contemplative state.

“ Oh, sorry, I was considering it and I decided on yes but the only thing is this would be my first time, is that ok?”
“Yeah it’s okay, but a looker like you should have mares mobbing you all the time, I don’t understand.”

“I did have my fair share of competition between me, though I was always too nervous to talk straight to them, let alone ask them for sex.”

Spitfire motioned toward the direction of their room,” Hey, how’s about you and I go to somewhere more private and I can help you learn.”

The two then headed to their room to start their night.
