Starry was looking at videos on the internet. Tears were rolling off of her eyes. She was trying to get something out of her mind, But those cuts on her wrist wern't making it any easier. She grabbed her jacket, and wrapped it around her. She sighed. Music came out of the speaker on her computer.
"she's only seventeen,
her whole life's ahead of her,
She hates school 'cause the pepole that discreted her,
her boyfriend tries to show her it's not as it seams,
with every day she jus get lowerd by her self esteam,
he lets her know that every night will have a brighter day,
she even tried to over dose and take her life away,
she's feeling hopeless there just sitting there beside her bed,
and then he takes his hand and places it beside her head,
He tries to hold her but with every touchshe still resists,
then he sees the scars that bury deep within her wrist,
she's feeling numb he tries to beg and plead and ask her why,
she says this way she has control of what she feels inside,
he's asking her how long since she felt this way, because
you got me here feeling s damn helpless,
She says its been a while I guess I just needed better luck,
and then he screams at her and tells her..."
"Baby, never cut."Starry heard a voice. She quickly paused her music.
"Dream Maker! I thought you had to work today."She got up and hugged him.
He returned the hug. "I got off early." He caught a glimpse of her uncovered wrist. He stopped hugging her and grabbed her wrist. "How...?" tears started rolling from his eyes. Starry pulled her arm back. "Why?"
Starry didn't awnser. Instead she ran out of the room.
Her mom stood in the hallway holding a basket of laundry. she stared at Starrry's arm. She collapsed with tears streaming down her face. Starry ran out of the house and ran to the cafe.
She walked in quietly and sat down at an empty table. Her arms were now covered but tears were still rolling down her face. Mrs. Cake walked over to her with Pound Cake in her arms. "You ok?'' she asked. Starry looked up wiping a few tears from her face. She nodded. Mrs. Cake just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. she held her head on her crossed arms on the table.
The door slamed open. Starrry looked up and saw a crying boy. It was Dream Maker. He looked around until he saw her. He walked over to her and sat down on the chair next to her. All he could manage was to stare. She tried to avoid looking at him. Starry was shocked when he grabbed her wrist gently. He pulled her sleeve up to look at her arm. He gently touched the cuts. "why? '' he whispered barely audible. She pulled her arm back and pulled down her sleeve. he took his hand and wiped away her tears. "Please, promise me you wont do this ever agian." he said with fear in his eyes.
Starry sighed and placed one of her hands in her lap an dcrossed her fingers. "I promise."
Starry walked in her room and closed the door. She fell on her bed. ''Darling, Im taking you to the doctor tommorow. Ok" Her mom said.
"Ok! " she replied.
She looked over at a long box by her window. She walked toward it and opened it. She grabbed a knife out of it and walked back to her bed. She sighed and stared at it. She lowered it to her wrist and started to cut. One cut. two cuts. Three cuts. Her blood started dripping onto her jeans. She put the knife down beside of her. She stared at the celling untill she passed out.
The next day she woke to the sound of her alarm clock. She grabbed her hoodie and phone. "mom. I'm ready.'' She called.
"Ok. Come to the car when your ready to leave. Ok.'' She called.
"This isn't the way to the Doctor." Starry said remembering the childrens and teens doctor office was in the opposite direction.
Her mom sighed and said "Were not going to the doctor were going to the hospital."
Starry started to panick.
"Calm down darling."
"No, no."
They arrived at the hospital and her mom dropped her off at the hospital entrance so she could park the car. She took a deep breath and walked in unkowing of what would happen. She took a seat and waited for her mom. She whispered "Why did I do this?"
Her mom came in about fifteen minutes later and told Starry to come and sighn in. The Nurse at the front desk asked what she was here for. Her mom started to ell a long story but Starry interupted her and said "Attemted self harm." She said. The nurse told her ''Ok.'' and gave her a wrist band with all of her information on it. She stared at it. It read:

She sighed. The nurse said "Come this way and go to room 4." She did as told. She took a seat and waited for the next nurse.
Severel hours passed and she had seen psyciatrists, doctors, nurses, theripists and counselers. A social worker was the last to visit. She asked her so many questions. She finally asked a question that scared her. "Do you Belive that your condition is so bad that you need to go to a rehab possibly." Starrys Eyes were filled with fear. then she said "I'll give you time to think about it."
When She came back Starry awnsred Saying, "I don't feel like I'm strong enough. She Said.
