"No, no this can't be true!" I mutter to myself. Why would they do this? What did we do to them? "Som, dinners ready" my mother calls. "Coming" I grumble. I take a seat down at the table. I eat my food slowly and my father seems to notice. "Something bothering you Som?" he asks. I just shake my head, finish my last leaf of salad and walk upstairs into my room and lock the door. Now I can't even bear to talk or even LOOK at my parents anymore. I try to sleep, but nightmares hunt me over and over again. Some nights I wore my armor because I was so afraid. My REAL mother screaming, my REAL father getting blasted to smithereens, and the rest my tribe's village being burnt down by... "Crystal Ponies" I growl. Why do I live here if i'm a shadow? Is that why kids at school are always looking at me that way? The more questions I ask myself the more angry I become. "Why should be alive AT ALL?! If i'm a DREADED SHADOW PONY?!?!" I scream as loud as I can. Every time I thought about my about my real parents and my tribe I cry, but one day something unusual happened. When I cried my tear was purple and it turned into steam. I tried to wash it off, but it made more steam. Soon, there was a bunch of purple steam flowing out of my eyes. "AHHHH!" I scream. I look at the mirror and notice that my eyes are green. GREEN! I think I was hallucinating, but I wasn't sure. Suddenly, I was zoomed into my green eyes and I saw my nightmare all over again. I scream and run out of the bathroom and into the kitchen. "MOOOOM!!!" I scream. She looks at me and backs away, suddenly her eyes are green too. I'm zoomed into her eyes and see.. a vision? A dream? No, a fear! It shows Princess Celestia finding out that my mother was hiding a shadow pony. "Som, go to your room" she screams. Then I say something I didn't think I would say. "No!" I shout and sprint out the door. When I run out crystal guards see that I have dark magic and chase me. "STOP!!! SHADOW PONY!" one guard shouts. "GET HIM!!!" the other one commands. I'm chased into the mountains when I finally had enough. I shot a gray crystal into one of crystal ponies, impaling him. "That's for my father!" I yell as I run away into the tundra. I run into a cave and stay in there for a few days. Over those days I thought real hard about what was happening. A. Now I have a power to look into ponies fears. B. Now there is purple smoke coming out of my eyes. C. My eyes turn green as well as the pony I'm staring at when doing the fear looking. And D. I found out that I am a shadow pony, one of the most feared ponies in all the land. My shiny armor is losing it's glow and is starting to look dull. I look out at the field of snow where I fought the two guards. The one I had killed was still there and his was wearing a red cape. I took it and wrapped around myself. I decided that I was going to avenge all the shadow ponies. By destroying the crystal ponies. Which meant, I could keep the name Som I had. It was from a crystal pony. Well, I was in the tundra.. My name was Som.. Somtun? No. Somdra? Close, but what if I changed the d to a b. Then, the name comes to me. Sombra. //-------------------------------------------------------// King Sombra has Arisen //-------------------------------------------------------// King Sombra has Arisen I walked into the Crystal Empire like I always did. Except, today I was on a mission. I wear a cloak over my head so nopony can see me. There it was. The Crystal Tower, where the Crystal Heart is hidden. The Crystal Heart powers up with love, but that won't happen. "Crystal Ponies don't feel love" I mutter under my breath. I walk up to the gates. "Halt! Who goes there?" asks one of the guards. I try to think of a story, then I find one. "I wish to see the Crystal Heart because my heart is full of sorrow" I whimper in a fake elder voice. The to guards look at each other and let me in. I walk around the castle looking for the room that might hold the Crystal Heart. I find it in a room guarded by crystals. I blow up the crystals and get to the Heart. "Now Crystal Ponies, you caused me pain... YOU'LL FEEL PAIN!" I triumphantly scream. I shoot the heart with my dark magic and the heart turns dark. It soon glows and black smoke goes into my body. Suddenly, I'm steam with just my head floating. "Mwahahahahaha!" I laugh evilly. I look outside the window and the Crystal Empire is destroyed. Suddenly, a voice comes from behind me. " Som, is that you?" the voice asks. "Luna!" I gasp astonished. The princess of the night walks up to me. "What are you thinking this isn't going to bring the Shadow ponies back" she tells me. I have to admit I was blushing, but I snapped out of it and growled, "These ponies caused me pain Luna! You were there on that night!' "Yes, I was and I'm sorry. My sister saw you as a threat" she explains. "But, we were not a threat!" I snap back. Luna dips her head for she is guilty for that war on that night. I raise up her chin. "I promise you they won't get away with this" I whisper. Then Luna backs away. "No! I won't let you hurt them!" Luna growls and get a sword and slams me with it. She about to takes another hit. But, I use the most powerful spell of all. It's the Hatelus curse. It causes a place to be forgotten for many years and the citizens also forget. They only remember the one who cast the spell. "No! Som why?!" Luna screams and starts to cry. "Why? Why?! Luna, do you no what these ponies did to me and my kind?!" I shout. "And we had a right to do it" a voice behind proclaims. It's Princess Celestia. With a beam ready. "NOOOO!" I scream. Celestia aims her horn. Luna is crying, but seems to know it's for the better. I see the light as it shines and I finally kiss my life goodbye. I fall into the ice and Celestia closes the crack, but I know one day.... I'll rise back again. //-------------------------------------------------------// In the Beginning //-------------------------------------------------------// In the Beginning It's a bright sunny morning in the Crystal Empire. I'm wearing my armor and patrolling the town. "It's a beautiful day in the Crystal Empire!" I whisper to myself. "Hi, Som" shouts a passerby. "Hi!" I wave back as I trot to the library. I was asked by my mother to pick up a book on creating crystals. So I set down my spear and walked into the library. When I climbed onto the ladder to start looking for the book, another book caught my eye. It glistened in the shadows. I thought to myself, "How can a book glisten in the SHADOWS?". I took the book from the shelf and started reading. It read of ponies called Shadow Ponies, ponies who could control darkness and shadows. The more I read the interested I became. I came to a blank page that didn't seem to have anything on it. I used my light magic, but it didn't work. All of a sudden, I heard an eerie voice in my ear. "Dark magic. Use the dark magic from the book!" It hisses. I nervously flip the pages back to the page with a dark magic spell written on it. I preformed the spell, but nothing happened. All of a sudden, gray crystals shot out of the book and cut my horn. My horn was now red with blood. I tried a healing spell, but it did nothing. I ran out of the library, not knowing that I left the book open. Dark steam rose out of the book and followed me down the street. I was in my bedroom, when some of my friends asked me to play. "Hey, Som! Wanna play catch the doll?" My friend Zaco asked. "Sure, just let me take off my armor" I reply. Zaco's brothers Roku and Kent were also in the yard. We started playing, and after a few minutes I felt my horn stinging. It stung so badly I had to drop out of the game. "Are you okay?" Kent asks "I'm fine!" I manage to hiss when tears are streaming down my eyes. I gallop away in my bedroom, and put my horn under the sink. I lay down on my bed to relax my still aching horn. "Why be their friend, if they were your tribe's end" I hear the same eerie voice from the library. I start to panic. "W-Who's there?" I stammer. My room is suddenly clouded with darkness and the eerie voice speaks. "Are they friend or are they foe?' The eerie voice creaks. I try to find the door, but it is too dark. "Leave me alone" I sternly stammer through tears. I suddenly feel a hoof on my shoulder. "Oh Som, there is so much you do not know" The eerie voice croaks. What do I not know? Why does this shadow want me? Suddenly, a book falls from the nowhere. It is the same dark book from the library. "Read it and your answer will be told, but some of the answers may not be what you foretold" the eerie voice echos. Then, the darkness is removed and the voice has faded away. I take a look at the suspiciously, but that book might have answers. Answers that I've wanted for years! I pad over to the book and look in. And with no sudden warning.... I am sucked into the book. //-------------------------------------------------------// A Horrible Past //-------------------------------------------------------// A Horrible Past I wake up and find myself on a battle field. Except, I'm not a soldier I'm a baby. I look up and see my real parents. My mother picks me up and runs with some angry crystal ponies behind her. I see my father fight off some ponies with dark magic, until I am pulled into the undergrowth. That was the last I would ever see from my father. I look up and see Princess Luna (or at this time Nightmare Moon.) fighting Princess Celestia. Why was Princess Celestia do this? Then everything the eerie voice told me makes sense. "Why be their friend if they were your tribes end" the eerie voice had told me. Why were the crystal ponies doing this? I am suddenly thrown up and into a ditch. I hear a mare scream and I can only guess that it's my mother. A bunch of crystal ponies circle my ditch. "There's still one more, that last one was holding a filly FIND IT!" I hear a crystal commander shout. One finds me and I quiver in fear, what do they do to Shadow ponies? The commander comes and aims his horn me and it light up. I close my eyes waiting for the pain when suddenly... "NOOO!" I hear someone scream. It's my father. He's a little beaten up, but he found me. He shoots the commander with a gray crystal, impaling him. "Commander! In honor of Commander Shimmer, I order you to destroy that Shadow pony" yells the commander's private. All of a sudden a bunch of magic beams are being shot back and forth. Gary crystals wounding or impaling ponies and shiny crystals missing my father with every shot. Finally there are only to more ponies. My father and the private. "You shadow ponies make me sick! All you do is bring darkness and sadness to the land of the New Empire! No one would want to live in a gloomy place like this!" the private curses. "I'm telling you, Nightmare Moon makes us do this. She's the one who provides us with shelter and food." my father explains. "Come on you know you could just leave and come live in the New Empire" the private suggests. "We Shadow ponies know better than to mess with Nightmare Moon" my father snaps back. Suddenly, a light beam slams my father in the back of the head and knocks him down. I look over and see the private bowing. Princess Celestia was standing over my father with triumph. "There are no more shadow ponies!" she shouts along with cheers from all the crystal ponies. A light beam comes from her horn and she aims it at my father. My father cries one tear...... Before he is blasted to smithereens.
