Hang on a sec...Emeralds aren't purple!
Hmm..." Discord floated around the old, dusty, dilapidated castle. Oh sure, Twilight and her friends had spruced up the place a bit, but it had been a while since then.
He was bored. Twilight had told Discord to leave her new castle because they were setting up everything. Oh sure, the kindly magic had included the thrones (not one for Discord, which he thought was completely preposterous), it hadn't included anything else. Even though Discord had proven his loyalty, he DID have a tendency to make things worse.
So Discord left and decided to explore the Castle of the Two Sisters. He was searching the library in it. Books had never really interested him until he had met Twilight. There were plenty of books about magic, but almost none about chaos magic. He supposed since the older castle was founded by the two princesses there MUST be something there...
"Hmm." Discord's uneven eyes searched the "C" section in the magic category. His large, goat ears pricked as he finally spotted the topic he was looking for--Chaos Power.
Granted, power and magic could be different, but it was very similar; it would do for Discord. He pulled the book out of the shelf and sifted through it.
"Hmm, that's interesting." Discord stopped at a section that had a picture of seven emeralds - red, white, green, light blue, purple, dark blue, and yellow.
"Called the 'Chaos Emeralds,' these jewels are a source of great yet unpredictable power, so-called 'Chaos Energy,'" Discord read aloud. "They are all controlled by the Master Emerald, which gives the power to whomever it chooses. These can be summoned with the command of 'Chaos Control.'"
Discord scanned a few more pages, but nothng really interesting. Something about a blue hedgehog...and red echidna... 'Whatever.'
Discord summoned the magic necessary to gather the Chaos Emeralds. It took a lot, but Discord's magic was nearly unlimited, so it didn't matter.
"All right! This oughta be fun," the draconequis chuckled. "Chaos..."

"CONTROL!!!!" A flash, and a black hedgehog suddenly appeared in a forest. He looked bruised and battered, but he didn't appear too drastically injured.
He had black stripes on the tops of his quills and on the sides of his arms and legs. He wore white gloves with black cuffs and red tongues, connected by a golden bracelet-like ring. His socks were exactly the same, having overtop white rocket sneakers.
He stood straight and looked at the emerald he held in his hand, his fur tingling. There was a strange disturbance in the Chaos Energy he was connected to, and he didn't like it. At all.
"Shadow, do you copy?" A voice came from his glove. The hedgehog lifted his hand and used two fingers to pull up the cuff of his glove, revealing a small communicator. "Yes, Rouge."
"Do you have the chaos emerald?"
"Yes, it was successfully retrieved. I will bring it soon."
"Soon? Shadow, the Commander wants it NOW."
"He'll have to wait." Before Rouge could answer, Shadow cut off the connection. Then he felt a shiver crawl up his spine. Something was very wrong with the Chaos Energy...very wrong.
He glanced at the chaos emerald in his hand--but it was glowing without his command. It was teleporting seemingly with a will of it's own. All this flashed through Shadow's mind in a split second, and he gripped tightly as the emerald warped away--taking him with it.

"Would you like some more tea, miss Amy?" A light yellow rabbit asked kindly, blinking her brown eyes as she offered a teapot.
"Why thank you, miss Cream," her partner, a pink hedgehog with jade eyes and short hair replied, reaching out her teacup, a dainty pinky finger raised.
The young rabbit poured the tea and carefully lowered it back down onto the small table. She wore a short orange dress with a white collar and a blue tie. Her sneakers were also orange with yellow tongues. Her gloves were simple and white, with a smll yellow button on each one. Around her floated a small, blue fairy-like being, except it was bigger and wasn't magic.
"I daresay, miss Cream, I do believe this is the best tea party we've had in quite some time," Amy said, crossing her legs. She wore a short, backless, bright red dress with white lining at the edges. Her boots were bright red as well with white cuffs and a white stripe running down the middle. Her gloves were white with golden bracelets around her wrists. To complete the outfit she wore a red headband behind her ears, allowing her bangs to stand out on her forehead.
Cream smiled. "Why thank you, miss Amy. It's always a pleasure having you here. How are things going between you and Sonic?"
"Same as always," Amy sighed. "He's said hi to me now and then, but nothing else."
"I'm sure he'll come around," Cream smiled.
"Thanks, sweetie," Amy giggled. She took a sip of the tea she held. "Lovely tea," she added. "I'm going to have to ask your mother for the recipie."
No reply.
"Er...Cream?" The pink hedgehog glanced at her 6-year-old friendo.
Cream was staring. "Miss Amy?" She finally asked. "Do you have a Chaos Emerald in your pocket?"
"Why, yes," Amy said, "how did you find out..?"
"It's glowing," Cream replied, reaching out. She fished the yellow Emerald out of Amy's pocket and gripped it in her small hands.
Amy gasped as it glowed brighter, realizing what was happening. She grabbed Cream's wrist and screamed for her to let it go before they both disappeared.

A lavender cat and a silver-colored hedgehog walked side by side, each holding a chaos emerald of their fur color in their hand.
The hedgehog tossed the jewel up and down in his hand, his golden eyes following its path. "That was a breeze, wasn't it, Blaze?" He smiled. On his white gloves, the palm had a small, light blue circle on it. with golden bracelets having a the smae color pattern engraved into them. It was basically a stripe across the entire ring with a little indent at the top, where the palm of the hand was. His boots had the same pattern on the cuffs, except where the indent was a red jewel was attached to the boot. The boots themselves were blue with a white stripe running down the middle.
"Hm...I suppose, Silver." Blaze, the cat, had her amber eyes on her own emerald. She had a bright red jewel embedded into her forehead, her hair pulled up into a ponytail by a red band. She wore a dark purple coat with a pink hemline, and had white tights underneath. Her socks and gloves were white, the cuffs feathery and fluffy. Her shoes were dark pink and high-heeled with a white strap across it. "I'm just hoping it wasn't TOO easy.."
"Don't worry, Blaze," Silver amiably said, looking over at his friend.
"But, still! Two Chaos Emeralds in one place...you'd think Dr. Eggman would have had better defenses." Blaze sighed.
"But there are two of us! Maybe I was doing all of the work for you," Silver joked, pretendig to flex his muscles.
Blaze rolled her eyes, but smiled unwillfully. Suddenly her smile vanished and she stopped, her cat ears pricked. "I knew it," she whispered, looking around warily.
"What is it?" Silver asked, taking a fighting stance.
"There's something coming our way. Something BIG. We'll need to-"
"Blaze!"
She swerved to look at her partner.
"Blaze, the emeralds! They're glowing," Silver yelped.
Blaze glanced at Silver's emerald then hers. He was right; both of them were glowing.
Now Blaze was no Chaos Emerald expert. But the Sol Emeralds worked very similar to them, and Blaze was pretty sure this meant the Emeralds were doing something.
"They're teleporting us," Silver exclaimed. "This is what they do when Shadow warps somewhere!"
"But we don't contro-" Blaze was cut off as they were unwillingly warped away.

Tails was in his workshop, working on a machine. He glanced over at his window, a small plant growing in a pot on the shelf. "It's almost ready, Cosmo!" The yellow fox smiled, seemingly talking to the plant. His blue eyes twinkled as he went back to his invention, grinning widely.
After a few minutes, he took a light blue emerald out of his pocket and put it into the invention. The invention was large and looked sort of like an oven, except taller and it had many wires connected to numerous outlets. In the middle was an indent covered with glass. Next to it was a touch screen, glowing with many buttons next to it. Inside of the indent were wires, meant to hold something -- and that something was the Chaos Emerald Tails was holding. He put the Emerald into the indent and closed the screen, beginning to tap on the touch screen. He then pressed a button.
Readings popped up on the touch screen, but they seemed erratic and high.
"Woah," Tails exclaimed. "These are off the charts! What's happening?" He looked at the readings more closely, tapping the touch screen rapidly. "There must be some sort of outside source tampering with it!"
Suddenly, the invention started to spark. Tails' large ears pricked and he sniffed as smoke began to pour out of the indents. He yelped as the chaos emerald began to glow.
He forced open the window and jerked out the chaos emerald -- just as it disappeared in a flash, taking Tails with it.

Sonic was, surprisingly, just sitting. Not doing nothing, of course! He was having himself a nice chili dog. He savored the taste, which meant eating it in about 10 seconds.
Sonic was a bright blue hedgehog with emerald green eyes that always had that mischevious twinkle in them. His gloves and socks were plain and white, and his shoes were bright red with a white strap across the middle, held down by a golden buckle.
"Delicious. Simply marvelous." He said in a fake British accent, yet he pinched his fingers together and shook them like an Italian. He then left a ring on the table for a tip and shot off like a rocket.
Sonic was only running for about a minute or so when he felt a strange tingling in his spine.
Now, most people wouldn't connect Sonic with Chaos Energy. Sure, he used the Chaos Emeralds often, but no one thought he had a direct link to it like Shadow or Knuckles did. But they were wrong.
Over his runs, he had collected so many rings and used the Chaos Emeralds so many times he actually did now have a connection with them. They were a part of him, which was sometimes a blessing and a curse.
Whatever the case, he knew something was of. He screeched to a halt and pulled out his dark blue Chaos Emerald. His green eyes peered at it as he cocked an eye ridge, wondering what was happening. He felt something similar to when he had teleported that one time, except it felt like a different force was using it.
Then the Chaos Emerald began to glow.
