She opened her curtain and grumbled. "I hate this holiday." She grumbled as she closed the curtain. "Harmonic! Where's my scarf?" yelled a green filly with light yellow and light violet hair. "Not now Lightning Orchid!" Harmonic yelled back to her sister. "Fine! I'll just ask mom." Lightning Orchid said as she flew to her mom's room. "Yea you go do that." Harmonic said as she wrote down a few more words. Harmonic Brush was struggling to write a new story. She hated Hearths-warming eve. All the couples, all the love, all the mistletoe, she hated it. Harmonic enjoyed staying in her room writing stories. She heard bells ringing from the 4:00 pm Hearths-warming play. "Mom!" Harmonic yelled angrily. "Yes?" Rainy Wind replied. "Can we soundproof my room?" Harmonic asked with an angry tone. "No." Rainy replied as she put on her scarf. "Me and Lightning are going outside," "Ok," "Harmonic, you didn't let me finish. You're coming with us." Rainy replied as she put on her boots. "What!" "Yes." Harmonic grumbled and flew down the stairs. She put on her scarf and her boots. As she left her house she grumbled something under her breath. "I hate this holiday..." The ponyville clock tower chimed 4:45 pm. That meant it was time for the play. "C'mon, we don't wanna be late." Rainy said as her and Lightning took to the skies, slowly followed by Harmonic. "Hey sis," Lightning said while taking the tips Rainbow Dash had taught her. "Why do you hate Hearths-warming so much?" "Good question Lightning. Well, I've just never seen the spirit of the holiday." Harmonic said landing by the theatre. After an exciting play which was boring to Brush, they all had to sing a carol. "The fire of friendship lives in our hearts, as long as it burns we will not drift apart. Though quarrels arise, their numbers are few, Laughter and singing will see us through, will see us through. We are a circle of pony friends. A circle of friends we'll be to the very end." The crowd and the ponies on the stage sang. Everypony was walking or flying outside. Couples were kissing underneath mistletoe and fillies and colts were eating cookies. "Look Harmonic! This holiday's not so bad!" Lightning said trying to get her sister out of the dumps. "Meh." Harmonic said as she slouched. "There is so much to do and so much to see! C'mon Brush, get in the spirit! Have a cookie!" Lightning Orchid said offering her sister a cookie. Harmonic took the cookie and ate it while she still slouched. "I'm getting hot chocolate." Harmonic said as she went to a hot chocolate stand no longer slouching. As she walked with a grumpy look on her face towards the hot chocolate stand, she carried the bits in her hoof. "1 cup of hot chocolate please." Harmonic Brush said as she looked down. "Here." answered a male unicorn as he took the bits from her. "Merry Hearths-warming." "You too..Lunar Moonlight." Harmonic Brush said as she read his cart name. "Harmonic! I wanna go outside!" Lightning yelled as she knocked on her sister's bedroom door. Harmonic didn't answer, just wrote down more words. "HARMONIC!" "Be quiet Lightning!" Harmonic snapped at her sister. "Mom said when I want to go outside you have to take me! Plus I have something planned!" Orchid said opening her sister's door. "With who?" Harmonic said putting her notebook under her wing. "Friends..." "Fine. let's go." Harmonic said putting on her scarf and getting her pen. "Now." Orchid smiled and put on her scarf and boots. The sisters left their cloud house and flew into town square. Harmonic hated this part of town, too much mistletoe. She sat down and wrote stories in her notebook while her sister played with her friends. "Is it all set Daffodil?" Lightning said getting out a check-list. "It's a go Lightning!" Daffodil replied as Lightning checked out a square. "Annie? You know what to do?" "Yessery Orchid." Lightning checked another box. "Dancing?" "Your a go Lightning." Lightning put her check list down and smiled to her friends. She sent them off to do their tasks. Dancing would hold up the mistletoe over their heads with her wings because Lightning was in charge, and Daffodil and Annie will drag somepony underneath the mistletoe. When all her friends left, Lightning started whining to get her sister's attention. "Harmonic! Come with me!" "Fine Lightning." "Annie! Daffodil! What are you doing!" Lunar yelled as his cousin and her friend pulled him away from his home. "C'mon cousin!" Annie yelled as she stopped pulling on his tail. "Ok well let me get up and walk instead of being dragged." Lunar said as he wiped snow off his mane. Lightning saw Annie and Daffodil with Lunar Moonlight. Harmonic was still being pushed by her sister without realizing where she was going. She kept looking down and writing stories. It wasn't until she bumped into Lunar that she looked up and saw him on the ground. "Oops, sorry Lunar." Harmonic said putting away her notebook and offering a hoof to help him up. "No problem." Lunar replied as he took her hoof. They didn't get suspicious until all of the fillies left. "I am so sorry about this. I'm just not very into this holiday and my sister absolutely loves it so." Harmonic said rubbing her neck awkwardly. "It's ok." Lunar said turning around to walk away. "No you don't cousin!" Annie said turning him back around. A small blush came to Lunar's cheeks, followed by Harmonic. "Now." Lightning whispered to Dancing, who grabbed mistletoe from a store, and gave the pony some bits. She flew past her friends, and over Lunar's and Harmonic's head holding out the mistletoe. "SURPRISE!" shouted Lightning, Annie, Daffodil and Dancing Star. Harmonic and Lunar looked over their head to see Dancing and the mistletoe. The looked back at each other, and to the fillies and colts with a surprised and angry look on their faces. "Lightning Orchid!" Harmonic snapped at her sister. "What? You said you don't like this holiday, so me and my friends came up with a plan to get you to like it." Lightning said to her sister. "We found the only stallion in town who didn't have a love or a love interest in any pony." Lightning said, talking about Lunar. "Do we have to?" Lunar whined towards the fillies. "YES!" Lightning, Annie, Daffodil and Dancing yelled. "Fine." they both grumbled. "Could you go though," Harmonic said to her sister. "If we're kissing, I would like privacy." Lightning signalled her friends behind a bush as they peeked on Lunar and Harmonic. "So.." Harmonic said as her voice trailed off. "I guess we.." Lunar said before being interrupted. "OH SHUT UP AND KISS ALREADY!" Dancing yelled to the 2 ponies. "Fine." Harmonic closed her eyes and so did Lunar. They both leaned in and their lips touched. For the first 2 seconds, it was nothing. Then Harmonic opened her eyes in thrilled shocked and Lunar did as well. They both closed their eyes and deepened the kiss. When they pulled apart and Harmonic opened her eyes facing Lunar, her wings puffed open and she struggled to close them. When Lunar opened his eyes, he chuckled and blushed. Both him and Harmonic plopped on the floor laughing. "We got you guys good!" they said in unison as they hoof-bumped. "What do you mean?" Lightning questioned at their sudden outburst. Harmonic stopped her laughing to answer her sister's question. "We knew you guys were planning this all along. I've been pretending to hate Hearths-warming so you and your friends would do this. Me and Lunar have been friends for a long time and been together for a month or 2." Harmonic replied to her sister's question. "1 month and 15 days!" Lunar corrected. "Yea. That." "So you 2 knew we were planning this?" Daffodil questioned. "Yep." They both said in unison before returning to laughing, and were shortly joined by the fillies. Author's Note Yea! YAY!
