Princess Twilight Sparkle's POV
Episode: 1
We all know the elements from the class at school. Honesty, Loyalty, Generosity, Kindness, Laughter and Magic. Just as we do recall the ponies representing the elements; Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Twilight Sparkle. We also know the Princesses; Celestia, Luna, Cadence and Twilight Sparkle and what they represented in the realm; Sun, Moon, Love and leadership. This is what our teacher had told us. Yet, what if it wasn’t the whole truth?
Very few has actually seen the tree of Harmony. We don’t really know what it is or what it was actually good for in the first place. Maybe the question is mote?
Once we have counted the elements making up the Harmony, we know that these are very helpful in the daily life, we all need to have just a little of them present. We don’t need to personify or represent any of them. Yet, every once in a while, one Pony just so happen to be representing one or the other.
Was it fortunate that each of the elements was represented, or was it just chance? What if none of the events that required the use of the elements of harmony had come into play, had the Ponies not been gathered in Ponyville, or would it have done all the same?
Only this one day, the tree had chosen to branch out, growing two new branches. Enthusiasm and Wisdon, as it turned out. Who the Ponies to be representing these elements, none knew. Maybe partially, due to the fact that none had actually known they needed to be represented.
Knowing that all the Ponies representing the previous six elements are friends, which had been stipulated to be required. Did this hint as to who could have been available for the respective positions?
Both individuals live and work in or close to Ponyville, which would be highly convenient. Neither of the two would have to move in order for the unity to stay in effect. Enthusiasm is represented by the grey mare Pegasus Dizy Doo and the Wisdom is represented by the Zebra named Zecora.
Just as none of the original bearers of the elements had known of it, until the time they revealed themselves at the time Nightmare Moon had come before them, neither did either of the two new bearers know of it as the change to the tree occurred.
As luck had it, they were all to meet up in Princess Twilight Sparkles castle, just a week after the change had occurred. Just as when they met the first time, the spark had ignited, just as they gathered in the same room. Back then, they had gathered in order to oppose Nightmare Moon as she was bent on maintaining her night eternal. The challenges she had posed upon them, one at a time had brought them together, just in time for them to realise it, as they gathered up behind Twilight Sparkle, the element of Magic.
This time, there was no challenge posed upon the group, or any of the Ponies making up the group. The one thing that changed the deal this time, is the castle the tree had summoned from out of the ground, for Twilight to live in, in place of her old library that had so recently been destroyed, mere hours before.
Twilight had gathered her friends, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity and Pinkie Pie for a quiet get-together amongst old friends. Friends who just so happened to be the entire group of Ponies representing the elements of the Harmony who had given them the castle in which to gather.
The castle also doubled as the local Ponyvillian library since the only library in the village had been destroyed. Spike had been the one to shoulder the responsibility to care for the library since Twilight Sparkle had been ascended into Princesshood as the latest of the Equestrian Alicorns. Not that he minded the position or the responsibilities that came with it. Partialy due the fact that he had carried most of them already.
If it was merely luck, coincidence, or something had gathered the friends at the exact right moment could be debated, if any Pony cared enough. Now they had all gathered as Zecora trotted into the room, looking or Twilight in search for a book. She had heard the book would be available at the new castle and felt an urge to see it first hoof in order to read it. One never knew when or where the next useful tide bit could be found.
“Greetings. Surprise indeed, to one in need. hearing of a book in your possession, a book of my obsession!” she responded in a light tone.
Pinkie Pie tried to maintain a straight face but failed miserably, listening to the confusing, cryptic rhyme verse of her friend, the Zebra she had learned was named Zecora. An amused, muffled giggle soon spreading over the room.
“Mail for the Royal Highness, Princess Twilight Sparkle!” the Mail-Mare Ditzy Do exclaimed as she entered the room, just as Spike left her for his more pressing duties.
I just groaned at the silly in the high prose just spoken in honour of my new position. I had little to no interest in the honour that came with my situation here in the castle. I wanted to be a regular Pony, even as I had ascended to the position as a royal Princess and Alicorn. To just enjoy a day with my friends, even as I continued to perform my day to day duties, even if they were still changing in accordance with my new position.
“You heard that, Twilly? Apparently, some Pony sent you something. Sounds like fun!” Pinkie Pie pronounced.
“Strange. I had this strange tingling from the inside and out!” Ditzy exclaimed in surprise.
Zecora just stood there, mouth agape as she heard what Ditzy stated, recognising the sensations, such as proclaimed.
“I take it you felt exactly the same, Zecora!” Rarity enquired.
Zecora merely nodded in confirmation, still speechless.
“Why do I have the feeling we all felt that before? Even if our new friends weren’t there with us in the old castle of the two sisters as we opposed Nightmare Moon!” I pointed out.
The moment just after I had pointed out my observation, the strange thing did happen, the two new shares rose from the floor and our old semi circle reconfigured in order to allow for the two new Ponies as part of the little group of friends.
