Epilogue

“Your Highness, have you seen Princess Celestia and Princess Luna?” one of the royal guards that had accompanied the rulers of Equestria asked.

“No...why?” Twilight answered.

“It is time for them to lower the Moon and raise the Sun,” the guard informed.

“Oh...right. I’ll go wake them up, then,” Twilight said.

“Thank you, Your Highness,” the guardspony said and bowed. Twilight felt her cheeks heat; she never could get used to her new title.

Twilight reached Luna’s door and knocked on it. “Luna…?”

No answer.

Twilight knocked again, and then gently opened the door.

“Luna, it’s time to...urh…” she said and looked openmuzzled at her former mentor and her sister.

“Uhm...we...urh...decided to erh...have our own little sleepover…” Celestia tried, but all three ponies knew what Twilight could smell: the residual fragrance of the two alicorns in the room.

“I...urh...maybe I should handle the celestial bodies today?” Twilight said and turned even redder at her unintended pun.

“Urh...hehe...that might be a good idea…” Luna chimed in with a red face and an embarrassed smile. “I, personally, have handled enough 'celestial body' for one pony!”

Twilight and Luna laughed and Celestia coughed and turned puce.

“Alright,” Twilight said, “I’ll tell the others that you two have decided to sleep in and that I’ll handle...urh...the Moon and the Sun today…”

“Oh...sounds like she wants to join in…” Luna said and all three ponies laughed.

“The change of night and day, then!” Twilight said.

Celestia suddenly looked worried, but Twilight guessed what she was thinking and added, “and I won’t tell anypony.” To which Celestia (and Luna) gave a sigh of relief.

Twilight closed the door behind her, and took a deep breath. Oh-myyy...she thought and walked down the stairs with a snicker...
