Chapter One : Just a Pony
The sun was shining in Ponyville, when Crystal Note was walking around town, looking for some cherries for her Cherry Pie. She was making for desert for lunch. She saw tomatoes, apples, oranges, and strawberries, but no cherries. She then decided that she could just use strawberries instead, and make a Strawberry Pie. So, she bought the strawberries and went back home.
"I'm home, mom!" shouted Crystal Note when she got home.
"Okay, sweetheart. Did you get the cherries?" asked her mom.
"Well... No. I couldn't find any. I'll just make Strawberry Pie instead." said Crystal Note as she started brushing her mane.
"Well, that's okay. Oh, and did I tell you my old friend Cloudy Cotton is coming over with her son for lunch?" replied her mom.
"Uh, no. You didn't tell me. Well, at least now I know. I guess I should start cleaning my room..." said Crystal Note shyly as she put away her brush. "Oh, when is dad coming home again? You told me, but I forgot." she added.
"When we are finished eating lunch, he should be home in time for Cloudy Cotton and her son to meet him." replied mom.
"Okay." said Crystal Leaf as she started making the crust of the pie.
"Now, I'm going to have a shower, and get to work on that pie. We want it done in time." said mom as she closed the shower door.
'Someponie's coming over for lunch? Mom didn't tell me earlier... ' thought Crystal Note.
She shook her head then got to work on the pie, like mom had asked her to. First, she made the crust, then the filling. Then she put them all together. She put it in the oven and sat down. She wasn't the best baker, or cooker. Since somepony was coming over, she used her magic to do her makeup when she went into her bedroom.
'That's better. I should check on the pie now. ' thought Crystal Note.
Surprisingly, the Pie turned out okay. She slid out the pie, just as her mom walked into the room.
"Looks gorgeous." said her mom as she heard somepony knocking on the door. "Crystal Note, can you please let them in?" mom added.
"Sure." replied Crystal Note as she opened the door.
Standing outside were two ponies. Cloudy Cotton, and her son Painted Picture. When she saw Painted Picture she blushed a little. She stood there, frozen looking at this stallion.
"Uh... Can we please come in?" he asked with a soft voice.
"Of course you can..." replied Crystal Note dreamily as she let them in and shut the door behind them.
One Week Later...
"Mom? I'm going shopping, see you later!" said Crystal Note said to her mom who nodded and waved good bye.
In town, she ran into a young stallion running an Art Supply stand. She walked in, looking for some paints. She was surprised to see that one stallion who ran the stand looked like she had seen him before. It was Painted Picture.
"Oh, hi there Crystal Note." said Painted Picture blushing.
"Hello there..." she replied staring off into space.
"Are you looking for something? Paints? Canvas?" he asked looking her in the eye.
"No.. Wha-Yes! I'm looking for some paints.." she replied handing over some bits to pay for the paints.
"Good bye, have a nice day!!" he shouted as Crystal Note walked out.
'He's just a pony. He's just a pony. There are plenty of other ponies. He's just a pony. ' Crystal Note kept thinking as she left, heading towards home.
"Wait! Crystal Note, I-I-... never mind." shouted Painted Picture galloping towards her.
"Well if you're sure." Crystal Note replied becoming disappointed inside. Painted Picture just turned around and went back to his Art Supply stand.
Two Days Later...
"Hello? Anypony home?" asked Painted Picture at Crystal Note's door. "No?" he sighed. He took out a small sheet of paper, and wrote a note.
Dear Crystal Note,
I came here to tell you something, but you weren't home. So, I'll tell you on Sunday Meet me in my Art Supply stand on Sunday at 1:00.

"Whats this?" said Crystal Note to herself. "A Note?" she wondered out loud as she read it. "Painted Picture? He wants to meet me ?" she said once she finished reading the note. "I wonder... What he wants to tell me. I'm writing back to him." she said, as she went upstairs and sat in front of her mirror. She wrote as she said it out loud. "Dear Painted Picture, I think I know what you want to say, but yes i will still go. Also, yes I love you too. With Love, Crystal Note." she finished.
"Crystal Note? Who are you talking to?" shouted mom up the stairs.
"Ugh... Somepony is on the phone with me!" she lied to her mum.
"Okay, then." mom replied unsurely.
"Okay, I'm going out to deliver some mail, I'll be back soon!" she told her mom as she went out the front door.
She walked around the bell tower, through the park, and past the Sugarcube Corner. She decided she would send a little treat along with the letter, so she picked up two heart-shaped mini slices of cheese cake. One for him, and one for his mom. She told Pinkie to put them in a box, wrapped with Romantic gift wrapping. After that, she dropped it all off at the post office.
Two Days Later...
"Hello! I was waiting for you. Oh, and I got your message..." said Painted Picture as his voice trailed away. "That's not exactly what I was going to tell you... I was going to tell you that when you left my stand a while back you forgot your purchases..." Painted Picture made up on the spot.
"Oh." said Crystal Note, disappointed.
"But you know... I LOVE YOU TOO!" he shouted as he couldn't hold it in. He blushed.
"That's what I thought." said Crystal Note starting to giggle and blush. "Well... I was wondering... Maybe we could be like... A Thing? Like you, and me. Together." said Crystal Note releasing her thoughts to Painted Picture.
"Well... Back where I used to live, Las Pegasus, your mate was chosen... when I was a little filly. And, well, your not... Your not my destiny!" he replied as his ears drooped down. "I'm stuck with... Derpy." he said looking scared. "If we even get started, we will be sad, I'll have to break up and marry Derpy Hooves." he added.
"Oh. Then... then... Then I guess this is bye. Good bye." she said as her ears drooped down.
"Good bye." he replied slowly flying away, and not looking up.
When Crystal Note Got Home...
"Hi mom..." Crystal Note grumbled.
"Whats the matter, sweetie?" mom replied, surprised at the tone of her voice.
"NOTHING!" she shouted in reply as she sobbed and ran up the stairs into her room and slammed the door behind her. She sat there for the next day or two until...
*RING*RING*
"What is it now?" Crystal Note said to herself. *GASP* "It's Painted Picture!" she yelled in excitement as she picked up her phone.
"Hello? Painted Picture?" asked Crystal Note.
"Crystal Note! I missed you so much! I really love you, and care for you, it's just too much for me to handle! Just please, one date. Just a friendly dinner at a fancy restaurant! Please?" he begged on the phone.
"Of course! Tomorrow, see you there!" said Crystal Note as she hung up. She clapped her hooves in excitement. She was going on a date with Painted Picture.

Sorry the first two chapters are so incredibly short. My plan is, to have two 500 - 900 sized chapter, then have a 1000 - 2000 sized chapter. Then, I repeat the pattern.

Crystal Note was in her room, preparing for her date tonight. She was so exited; this was her first date with Painted Picture. She got her makeup ready, and went to the dress store to find a suitable dress.
"Hello, Crystal Note. Long time no see. Are you looking for something? A dress perhaps?" greeted Harmonic Brush as Crystal Note walked into the boutique.
"I'm looking for a dress for a date..." Crystal Note paused when she remembered that it was supposed to be a secret. "For a fancy dinner. Like a party dress." she said.
"Ahh... I see. A date you said?" asked Harmonic Brush curiously.
"Well, yeah. But I'm not supposed to tell anyone, if you tell a single pony, oh you don't know what I'll do. But yes, I'm going on a date - at a fancy restaurant to be exact." replied Crystal Note.
"Oh. I see... How about this dress?" said Harmonic Brush holding up a dress that looked like this.
"Yeah... That's perfect! I'll buy. How much?" asked Crystal Note
"250 bits, that is!" said Harmonic Brush as Crystal Note handed her the bits. "Bye!" she added.
"Bye, and thanks!" replied Crystal Note as she walked out holding the dress.
"Wow. This dress is really great. He'll love it!" Crystal Note whispered to herself.
Meanwhile...
"What to wear, what to wear...?" Painted Picture said to himself. "Blue? Red? Black?" he added as he filed through his closet. "Ah ha. This is perfect!" he said holding up the black tuxedo.
Later that day...
"Painted Picture? I'm here now. You can come out." Crystal Note said knocking at his door.
"Okay... I'm coming!" he said as he walked out the door. He gasped in surprise. "Y-you're gorgeous!" he said.
"Oh, why thank you! You look beautiful too." said Crystal Note blushing.
"So, what do you want to do? We still have some time. I reserved a first class seat for two. The reservation is at 6:00, it's only 4:45. Wnna go somewhere first?" he asked looking at his watch.
"Okay. Sounds good. Let's go to... Maybe the spa?" she asked.
"Sure. Let's go!" he replied as he spread his wings to fly. "I'll be there. You teleport to the ground. You wait there, I'm flying." he said remembering she was a unicorn, and therefore; had no wings.
"No way, silly filly! I'm teleporting you with me!" said Crystal Note giggling and teleporting them to the ground. "We walk the rest of the way." she added.
"Alright, alright." he replied, also starting to giggle.
"Hello. Welcome to the Ponyville Spa!" they were greeted by Lotus Blossom. (The one with the pink mane, and blue body.)
"What brings you here today?" finished Aloe. (The one with a blue mane, and pink body.)
"Hello. Can I have a mud bath please?" replied Crystal Note.
"Alright. For you, sir?" replied Lotus Blossom.
"Err... The same thing." replied Painted Brush.
"Okay. Follow me this way." said Aloe, leading them into the spa room.
"Thanks!" said Crystal Note smiling.
At 5:30...
"Oh, well look at the time! It's almost 6; we better start heading to the fancy restaurant." said Painted Picture, once again looking at his watch.
"Yeah, you're right. Let's go. We should walk, the spa was so relaxing, I need to stretch my hooves." said Crystal Note gesturing to go.
When they arrived at the restaurant, their table was all set to go.
"Welcome to the Hoof Stomp restaurant. So, it was reserved for Crystal Note, and Painted Picture, correct?" asked Fancy Dish, the pony who worked at the restaurant.
"Yes, correct." replied Painted Picture.
"Alright. Right this way." said Fancy Dish. "Here are your menus. This one for food, and this one for drinks. I'll be back soon to take you're orders. Enjoy you're stay!" he added handing them their menus.
"Thank you!" said Crystal Note and Painted Picture in unison. They both started giggling at their unison.
"We make a good couple." said Crystal Note in between giggles.
"I know, right! Okay, we should start choosing our meals." said Painted Picture looking the menu. "Hmm... I'm liking the sound of Mashed Potato and a small Hayburger... Yeah, for sure. That's what I'm getting..." said Painted Picture certainly.
"Um... Okay, sure. I'll get the same, but I'll have an Oatburger instead." replied Crystal Note.
"Alright, so two Mashed Potatoes, one Hayburger, and one Oatburger?" Crystal Note and Painted Picture jumped as Fancy Dish confirmed their orders. Crystal Note gave a slight nod in response. "Alright, I will be back when your food is ready." Fancy Dish added.
"So... Wanna talk?" said Painted Picture shyly pushing his mane out of his face.
"I've been thinking... Well, you're supposed to stay with Derpy, right? Well that was in Las Pegasus! We're here now. Don't you get it? We could stay here. Us. Together!" said Crystal Note said dreamily.
"Well... Maybe..." said Painted picture, falling asleep as he paused to think about it.
"Painted Picture! Painted Picture! Wake up!" said Crystal Note. "I know..." she paused. "We really want to be together, but if it's not aloud from Las Pegasus, then it just won't work. Even if we're in Ponyville..." said Crystal Note bringing herself together as she wiped the tears from her eyes.
"Wha... What happened?" asked Painted Picture opening his eyes.
"You fell asleep... Thinking about us... Don't worry. Only a couple minutes passed." said Crystal Note reassuringly.
"Well... Okay." replied Painted Picture blushing. He closed his eyes. They leaned together, both blushing.
"Your orders are ready. Here." said Fancy Dish appearing out of no where, causing Crystal Note and Painted Picture to lean back out. Fancy Dish handed them their meals.
"Thank you." they replied in unison. They both ate in silence.
