The Strange New World

One Year Later

"They are gone." Zeta said as he watch the team of Pokemon Rangers run towards Lumiose City.

"Good" Jack said as he grabbed five pokeballs, "Come on out everyone." after Jack received Amber from Nurse Joy he started to expand his team to include; one Shedinja, a Blastoise, and an Aerodactyl.

"Scept?" Slash asked in a worried tone.

"I'm sure they won't find us. There is a reason that Zeta is on lookout duty." Jack responded.

"Unless I decide to be mean." a feminine voice said from behind Jack.

Jack spun around to see who said the sudden comment directly behind him, "Arya! I thought you hated me?"

"Me, hate you? No, I was just a little butt hurt when you freaked out at the Pokemon Center in Hoenn last year." Arya smiled.

"Well you ran of so quickly I didn't get to do this." before Arya could speak Jack pulled her in for a kiss.

After a moment they pulled apart, "Well that solves one problem." Arya said trying to hide the blush on her face.

"You didn't give me a chance to respond other than my initial freak out last time." Jack said smiling at Arya not caring about the possible threat standing in front of him.

Arya walked over to one of the logs in the clearing and suddenly collapsed. Jack unsure of what just happened and what to do. He just stood there looking at his childhood friend's prone body, and suddenly he too collapsed.

“Rest now my children, for when you awake a whole new world shall be your home.” echoed threw the minds of all present pokemon and humans alike.

"Man, what happened?" Jack said as he stretched his front legs, "Where are my hands and why am I covered in fur?" he said looking at his legs that are now covered in goldish-brown fur.

"You're an Eevee. Now tell me were we are and why I can understand you" another Eevee said lying on the desert ground in front of Jack.

"You can understand me because you are an Eevee also." Jack respond as he looked over the female Eevee in front of him, "Why does her voice sound so much like Arya's?"

"What!" she shouted jumping up and looking at her legs in disbelief, "This can't be. I was just at my friends campsite outside of Lumiose City."

"Wait did you just say you were at a campsite outside of Lumiose City?" "Please. Oh, please Arceus let it be her."

Arceus shivered "Mortals."

"Yes, I did." after a moment of thought she said "Wait is that you Jack?" all he could do is nod before she tackled him, "Its me, Arya. I'm so glad we weren't separated."

"So am I, but we need to figure out were we are and hopefully why we are no longer human." Jack said trying to remove the clingy Eevee that has him in her grasp, "Arya if you let me go we can start to search for our teams and hopefully civilization because I don't know about you but I do not like being in a desert."

"Ma'am, I found some more of those weird animals!" a strange voice from above yelled causing the two once humans to look up and see a strange flying ponyta above them.

"Keep them in your sights, so that we can grab them and bring them to the boss!" a female voice yelled.

Jack and Arya looked around to try and see the source of the second voice, but only saw large amounts of sand. They then gave each other worried looks, "Think we should run?" Jack asked still under Arya.

"No, with that one," she pointed in the direction of the flying ponyta, "up there would never escape. If what ever it is was on the ground we might have been able to get away." Arya responded as she climbed off of Jack and sat next to him as he sat up, "So what do you think that ponyta meant when he said that he found more weird animals?"

"I don't know but it might not be good," Jack answered brushing some sand from his coat, "but since it would probably be worse if we ran, lets just do as they say so we won't get hurt."

Arya nodded, "Well I will cooperate so long as we can stay together."

"You two would be perfect for the boss's daughter. She just loves small fluffy pets." the same female voice from before said from behind them.

Almost in perfect sync the two ex-humans turned around to face the voices owner, who is a gray ponyta with a horn and black mane with electric blue streaks in it, "What type of ponyta are you?" Jack asked but all the mare heard was 'Ee eevee?'

"Don't worry little fella, me and my friend are going to bring you somewhere safe, and we will let you two stay together since you are obviously close." the mare smiled as she spoke to try and ease the minds of the two Eevee in front of her.

"I have an idea." Jack said as he started to draw in the sand.

"Jack what are you do-" Arya cut herself off as she read what he wrote in the sand.

'We can speak but it appears that you can't understand us.'

The mare's jaw dropped when she read what he wrote, "Give me a second and I can fix that problem if you will allow me to." Jack and Arya looked at each other and nodded, "OK just give me a second," the mares horn started to glow the same color as the streaks in her black mane. After a short moment the glow faded, "Try to talk now."

"Hi, my name is Arya and this is Jack." Arya said motioning to Jack.

"Good it worked," the mare sighed in relief, "My name is Lightning Storm, nice to meet both of you, but lets continue introductions at my camp so you two can meet my team."

"Well Ms. Storm, we will be happy to accompany you back to your camp." Jack said politely.

"Please just call me Storm or Lightning." Storm said as she turned and motioned for the two to follow.

"So.... Storm how many Pokemon have you captured?" Arya asked.

"Well I don't know what a Pokemon is but me and the rest of my team have captured quite a few strange animals."

"Those 'animals' are probably Pokemon like us." Jack corrected.

"So why do almost all of them look completely different if you are all Pokemon?"

"Well there are different species of Pokemon. For instance we are Eevees. Last time I checked there was seven hundred something different species total counting the numerous legendaries." Jack said calmly as he reached the top of the dune and look at the 'camp', "Storm is that your camp?"

"Yes and no. Yes it is were we have been spending the nights, but no it is not were we are operating from or where we are storing the Pokemon as you call them. I'll show you that place tomorrow as for now this is Dodge Junction. This little town is full of really nice ponies so don't worry none of them should be scared of you two." Storm responded obviously not happy to be staying here.

"Well it is starting to get late," Arya said looking at the sun as it slowly drifted downwards, "so lets get to the town so that we can get some rest."

"Agreed, it gets quite cold out here in the night." Storm turned to face the Eevees, "Race you there." is what she said as she took off full gallop towards Dodge Junction.

Both Jack and Arya groaned before they took off after her.
