Dashing to Soar

Chapter II : The Journey is Always Longer

We're back!  Anyway,  a lot of stuff happened last night.  Soarin flirted with me, so he should tell how the REST of the night went. Dash, come on, I thought we were friends. We are, but isn't that rushing things a bit? You have a point, Dashie.

         "That's a nice outfit you're wearing, Dash." I said, obviously trying to flirt with her. You see, I'm very awkward around ponies.  I know you're shocked, and I'm an idiot.  Of course,  Dash didn't know I was flirting with her.  "So.. uh Dash, you ready to go or not, I mean the trip won't get any shorter if we stay here longer." I  said matter-of-factly.

         "Fine... but stop flirting with me you big lug!" Rainbow responded.

         I felt a twinge of shock and realization, as Rainbow found out I was flirting with her.

            "Just wait a sec for me to get undressed." Rainbow said. "And don't get any ideas!" Rainbow yelled.

          "No ideas, got it." I smiled as I saw Rainbow getting undressed. That was one helluva flank, and a pretty fit one too.

                Rainbow looked at Soarin with a cocky look on her face. "I said no getting ideas, even if my flank is awesome. Bet you want that cutie mark?" Rainbow teased, as she held that smile. "I'm kidding, but seriously stop with the innapropriate ideas. This is business, remember?" Rainbow replied.

           "Yeah, business.." I replied. I remember I had a crush on her ever since I was a filly, but I was stuck in the friend zone. She was the little rainbow I had to protect and look out for. I've known her all my life, and I was afraid of her dying. She provided me comfort. The little rainbow of hope in my life was her, and only her. Sure a lot of mares liked me, but I always declined saying, "There's somepony I have my eye on, I'm just afraid to tell her."

             They flew over the Everfree, and to Canterlot, where Twilight was visiting a sick Celestia and Luna. I walked in the town center and saw a hospital.

               "Aha." I said as I opened the door and walked over to the waiting room receptionist.

               "Do you know where Princess Celestia is? She's expecting us." Rainbow said in her raspy, yet adorable voice.

                  "Of course, Room 22B, her sister's in 22A."The receptionist replied.

                     "Thank you."

                    "Wait, you're Soarin and Rainbow Dash right?" The receptionist asked

                 "I told you we were going to need disguises!" I replied.

                       "No.. but I heard you were dating.. and I wanted to ask if it was a thing or not." The receptionist replied.

                       "No, but we must get going to the Princess, this is urgent government matters of course." Rainbow responded,  sounding as professional as possible.

               "See you later!" I said.

               We walked in the long hallways, to room 22B, and I slightly opened the door to see Celestia and Twilight talking.

             "I'm going to miss you and Luna, I promise to be the best ruler I can, to carry on your legacy. "

               Celestia's horn glowed yellow, and Twilight's eyes did to. "May my knowledge and control assert dominance over your free will." Celestia said. "You are my reincarnation, my successor, therefore you must promote this kingdom better than I have. I now name thee Celestia, after my thine accord, and you will rule from now on."

            Twilight nodded slowly, like it was a forced nod. "Yes master, I will carry on your will and have a co-ruler as well. Rest in peace, thy master. I shall love thee more than anything, mother." Twilight said, the knowledge transfer and mind controlling spell, tightening their grip on her.

           Rainbow gasped in horror, and I did the same.

         "Nopony in Equestria is safe. Nopony is safe!" I said.

          "Yeah, we believed the lies." Rainbow whispered into my ears.

              I hugged Rainbow comfortingly.

             "I've got some for Rainbow." Twilight said.

            Rainbow walked back with Twilight, and I followed.

              "What you saw.. was a mind control and knowledge transfer spell. This is common when dying rulers are trying to get their successors. Anyway, since Celestia had Luna, Celestia noted I need a co-ruler." Twilight said, looking as cold and professional as Dash looked in the lobby. "And Rainbow Dash, that successor is you."

        "Me? Hay to the no! You're in a world full of lies. I want a world where I am told the truth, and nopony gets brainwashed or influenced by anypony." Rainbow replied. "I'm loyal to my friends, not just one of them, but all of them!" Rainbow yelled, getting ticked off.

          "You gave me no choice." The newly appointed successor said as she cast a spell stunning Rainbow  Dash. An aura of magenta and yellow magic knocked Rainbow out.

             "How do you mess with my mare?!" I yelled. "Buck you!" I said, getting really pissed. I picked up a chair and threw it at Twilight to get her distracted. I rushed around the hospital bed Celestia laid, dead  and cold. I picked up Rainbow Dash, and put her on my back, and I opened my wings. A little after a while, Rainbow woke up, confused as ever.

         "Rainbow, we're going out of Equestria. It's not safe here." I said.

          "I know." She said worriedly, and a slight smile appeared on her cyan face before she went back to sleep.

          "You'll be ok, my little Rainbow." I said.

        I carried Rainbow as far as I could, and was hoping there was some way that I could protect my little rainbow. I saw a purple figure behind me.

     "You fool!" Twilight said. "She is meant to be my co-ruler, and she must undergo the process of becoming so!" Twilight exclaimed.

       "Never!" I yelled. "She is much more than a trophy. You treat her like one, but you don't know her as much as Fluttershy and I do. You don't even deserve her as a friend! I don't even deserve to love her, but I do!" I replied. "You know, you could have had another way, but you fell for Celestia's lies! You should have seen the real world, and its struggles, but you have only been locked up in a castle, or at a house where the liar and her comrades protected you and told you everything is going to be fucking alright, when it's not!" I ranted.

    "Oh please, I had my own share of struggles! Have you seen me trying to save Equestria?" Twilight told him.

         "More like destroy it. You're under control, Twilight. You either become one and let it destroy you or you destroy it and become it on your own. You can't run away from your own demons, and believe it or not, but I wasn't rich growing up. I was poor, in fact I lived in a foster care home with Rainbow Dash. She's like a sister to me, along with Fluttershy. Rainbow, Fluttershy and I were abused by her father, Rainbow forced to become a servant in her own home until she turned of age. Once she did, she got her mother's trust fund and built and moved to that cloud house she has now!"

     "Some of us started from the bottom, Twilight, and that changed us. Celestia isn't the pony you should trust, because she is a tyrant, opportunistic, and she will use you Twilight. You must destroy her, and even if you regret it later, you will have done the right thing!"

      "No Soarin, you don't understand. I've been under her control since I can remember." Twilight started peeking out. "But Rainbow, must follow this, or I will destroy Equestria!" Twilight said, Celestia regaining control.

    This was when Rainbow woke up. "Twilight, why are you doing this? You could have anypony else, but not me. I was planning to do something with my friend/ brother for a long time, but you had to ruin it. Screw it, this time I'm staying loyal to my friend I made first!" Rainbow yelled. "My other friends will understand, and so will you, and I honestly hate to betray my friend, but I have to. You're never going to bring me down that low!" Rainbow said, nobly.

    Damn, I have never been that attracted to her.

              "I still love you as a sister, Twilight, but please don't become the bad guy. I love you too much, but I have to love my other friends too. Please, just think about what you're doing!" Rainbow replied, until she realized it was no use. "Soarin, let's go." Rainbow said, somberly.

         I agreed, and then I flew east to Prance. "We'll probably be safe here." I said.

         "Rarity would be so jealous right now!" Rainbow replied.

          "Would she be jealous if you got kissed by a Wonderbolt?" I slyly remarked, as I pulled Rainbow close to me and kissed her.
