Five months after Princess Twilight Sparkle defeated the villainous Lord Tirek and the Friendship Kingdom was established, strange things began to occur. In the middle of the night, a bright spectrum of lights burst into the sky; violet, lavender, white, all shaped into that of a starburst formation. Everypony goes to Princess Twilight for answers, but she's just as lost as they all are. She must venture out beyond her homeland to the Neverthere Islands, a land formation shrouded in mystery and chaos. In order to reach these discordian isles, she'll need the help of…… well, Discord or course. Together, they will piece together this conundrum and find out what lies beyond this plane of existence.
