Chapter Eleven: The Eternal Union

"Soo... Creator, right?" Brian asked with a slight grin, to which he simply replied.

"Oh, simply call me... I don't know, uhm, Bill?"

"Sure Bill, so... What's the purpose of your visit?" He sighed with another grin.

"You know, it's not the first time i set foot into Equestria. I'm nearly as old as the royal sisters, i knew Altair personally as well"  Brian nearly choked to death in his surprise, i had to slam him in the back many times, his armor only made it harder, what i followed with a question.

"Soo, just a friendly visit?"

"Oh, you have soo much more to learn..." Of course at that we swapped glances, i pulled out the Codex, before i could open it he continued. "Not from that, that's merely a fraction of the knowledge about Altair's legacy... As for you Brian, only Celestia can tell you about the Solar Knights"

"So you're here to... Teach us?" He chuckled.

"Finally you get the point" By the time he finished we already were over at Brian's doorstep, before we entered he asked us.

"Uhm, should we tell them the truth about Bill?" I shook my head in response.

"They'll know everything... In time" We opened the door, we were greeted by our beloved friends, as we looked around we saw everypony we knew.

"Welcome back guys!" They yelled in unison, all of them, Pinkie, Dash, Twilight, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy, Derpy, Lyra Heartstrings the unicorn Brian told me about, Cadence, Armor, Celestia and Luna, even Moonsinger, how did she get here before us? Come on, magic... Of course at the sight or Bill the princesses dropped their jaws, Celestia, Who else? of course started yelling at him.

"You?! You?! You get your miserable ass out of my domain!!" Bill replied calmly, he reminded me of myself for some reason...

"Come on Celestia, are you not happy to see me? The one who made sure you meet Altair?" I walked closer to her and whispered into her ears.

"Come on, don't ruin the surprise party, we'll talk about it afterwards, he's our guest anyway..." She nodded, the party was amazing, before we noticed it was already getting dark, the party was over and everypony left, except the royalty and Dash who was of course living there, after noticing Brian's armor and the sun on his chest we were all summoned outside.

"First things first, what happened?" Cadence asked, i expected Armor to be still here with her, but i guess he had duties to attend.

"Well, i suppose Celestia and Luna knows, you should as them instead" Bill replied still calm, Cadence turned her attention at the mentioned alicorn.

"Come on speak up, we must know"

"Come on, tell them, they deserve to know" Now we all were staring at her, she shighed and agreed to tell us but only in Canterlot.

"Ow come on, not fair... I wanted to know too!" Dash commented, i guess she was allowed to know as well, since she and i were the only family Brian had, so she came along. When we arrived the princesses told the guards to not let anypony in no matter who.

"So, where shall i begin?"

"The beginning" I was losing my patience...

"Actually, i think our friends should know about it as well, so if you would forgive me i'll send them a messeage to come here tomorrow, for now let us sleep once again" She turned her attention to her youger sister. "Shall we?" Luna nodded in response, their horns began glowing as the sun gave way to the moon...

The following morning we all gathered at the castle gates awaiting our friends, who arrived in the company of the Elite Royal Canterlot Guard, as they stopped the guards saluted to all of us, well... Except Dash... I nodded at the guards.

"Good to see you guys again" They nodded back with a grin. "Thank you for your services so far, follow us to the throne room and stand guard outside" One of them replied.

"Apologies sir but, you don't have authority to command us..." They all broke out in laughter, except for Luna and Celestia, Luna then cast a silencing spell to make them shut it, and spoke.

"I'm afraid yes, Warrant Officer John Miller does have the authority..." The guard grinned.

"Yes ma'am, my bad sir" On our way to the room i leaned in and whispered to Celestia.

"Hey, i know everything you're going to say, in my dreams Altair told me everything" When we got there the guards turned around and we closed the door, and stood into front of the 6 mares, Celestia, the tallest of us standing in the middle, Luna and Cadence on her sides, with me and Brian next to them, you can guess who i was next to... The mares bowed down to the princesses, mainly Celestia, who in response spoke up.

"Friends..." She looked at us at her sides, then back to them. "And faithful students..." We all grinned at Twilight, she blushed and chuckled in response, then i suddenly noticed something off.

"Hang on, where's Bill?"

"Up here, Celestia, you are meant to tell them about it right now, it's my duty to make sure everything happens as it's destined to" She sighed again.

"Fine fine, i'll do it... You just shut up, okay?" We all laughed, we tried to hold back but didn't work. "Now, i'm sure all of you know what the Elements of Harmony are..." Brian shook his head, i facepalmed, they facehoofed.

"What? You all knew? Why didn't you tell me?"

"Right, the Elements of Harmony are magical powers, meant to keep Equestria in peace and harmony, that are being resembled by our friends here, Fluttershy is kindness, Pinkie is laughter, Rainbow Dash is loyalty, Rarity is generousity, Applejack is honesty, and Twilight is magic. I'm sure you all know their purpose now, and what they are, but i haven't told you how they were made" Before she could continue, i commented.

"And since Bill came down to us, and we have to be here with Brian as well, i suppose it has something to do with Altair, correct?" She nodded.

"Indeed, John you are correct, in the meantime you two were away in... there... i and Luna talked about it and decided it's time for you to know it" Celestia was going to give us one of her history lessons, the other two alicorns and the mares sat down into a half circle in front of her on their haunches, so we sat down next to them, she chuckled.

"Are you all expecting me to give you a brief or thorough history lesson?" We all nodded and said 'Thorough' in unison. "First of all, John may i borrow Altair's codex to demonstrate?" I scrambled around in the bag, meanwhile Applajack came up with an obvious question.

"Hold on would 'ya? Who the hay is this Altair you all keep talkin 'bout?" I stood up slowly, handing the book over to Celestia, she noticed that i had the hood on still, and my eyes started to turn red.

"John, please calm down, she didn't know..." I looked the direction Applejack was sitting, with a slight grin, Brian must have stood up to restrain me if necessary, i heard his armor clanking.

I've seen him fight many times, i knew he usually had that position when he was about to lunge at the enemy, i stood up and put the helmet on. "John, calm the hell down, she didn't know!" He looked over his shoulder at me, shadows started to surround him, a black shadowy figure with red eyes... Just like in one of my nightmares... "Girls! Get away from Applajack..." They started backing off, John chuckled.

"She didn't know who he is? Why don't we send her after him and let her see?!" With that, he lunged at her, holding her in the air against a wall by her throat.

"JOHN FOR FUCK SAKE LET HER GO!" I unsheathed my sword, he immediately let go of her and looked at me.

"Oh really? Drawing your blade against you own brother? Are you sure you want to fight with me?" He had a good point, i would've stood no chance...

"John, it's the final warning, calm down or i'll call the guards" He chuckled once again.

"Heheh, good... Do it, it's been a while since i spilled some fresh blood..." Celestia sighed, as her aura started surrounding him, but the five shadow assassin figures were already closing in around us. "Have you changed your mind yet?" I sheathed my sword, and stood into between him and Celestia, her aura disappeared from around him, so did his figures. "At least you had come to your mind, brother..."

"John, i will not fight you... Go ahead and kill her, but you have to pass through me first!" Luna smiled, i laughed and fell back to the ground, back in my normal form, i started walking towards him, clapping. On the way Dash suddenly lunged at me, taking me to the ground.

"Don't you dare hurt po..." *Splat* *Thump* I turned around, the mares were terrified, the princesses upset, Brian on his way to dismember me.

"John! You went way too far this time, i'll end your for this!" As his blade was about to hit my i punched it away with the back of the hidden blade on my left hand, grabbed his left arm with my one, and slit his throat with the right one. *Hack* *Cough* *Thump* I unsheathed my sword and proceeded to walk towards the remaining mares, Celestia tried to block my way.

"Tia, let him go... trust him he knows what he does" Finally Luna said something in the meantime.

"Why... Why are you doing this John?" I smiled.

"Remembe? I have a feeling... A feeling of uninvited guests" Her eyes shot open and gasped, lettimg me to the ground once again.

"John, please wait! We mean no harm!" I lowered my blade.

"What do you want, changeling?" They turned into assassin's in training robes, they looked like novices.

"John, they are on our side, back then Altair and i managed to gather enough changeling rebels against Chrysalis to form them a secret colony, they used to transfrom into humans and their horns were to be removed, forcing them to stay as humans for the rest of their lives, then they were trained into full pledged assassins"

"Wait, wat about the other two i just killed?"

"Don't mind them, they were only my illusions" Suddenly i heard the door open, it was Brian and the real mares.

"Brian, did i ever tell you how much i hate your ass?" He shook his head with a grin.

"Come on John, nobody's perfect"

"Yes, in fact, i told all of them i was going to say now, Brian, John, please come here, and kneel down in front of us" We did as they asked.

"John, may i borrow your blade?" I grinned.

"Which one, my lady?"

"The longest of them all" She replied with a grin.

"As you wish your highness" I gave her the blade, she surrounded it with her magic.

"You know, it is true the Solar Empire and the Lunar Republic used to be on full out war... But Altair came to a conclusion, so we united our forces for a greater good, the Dark Shield Assassins and the Solar Knights were no more, intead there was an elite, undefeatable, best of the best full human armed force"

"What was it called?" Brian threw in.

"The two sides were still their own of course, the Empire and the Republic, yet they each contributed their fighters into the united forces, that was called Eternal Union, made of my most faithful and honorable knights, and Luna's most honorable and good hearted assassins"

"What are you trying to tell us, your majesty?"

"Hereby now, we, Princess Celestia, Luna, and Cadence are the most honored appoint you, Warrant Officer John Miller and the Mentor of the assassin brotherhood of the Dark Blade Assassins of Equestria, and the Crystal Empire" They each hit my shoulders slowly with the sword. "Rise, Mentor John Miller" I stood up.

"An honor to serve your highnesses" I looked at the novices, they saluted me with their hands at their sides and over their hearts.

"Allways an honor to see you mentor!" The alicorns turned their attention back to Brian.

"Brian, we are just as honored as you are to appoint you as the supreme commander of the Bright Shield Protectors of Equestria and Crystal Empire!" Celestia let out a loud and sharp whistle, five human knights wearing the same armor as Brian entered the room, they walked next to my assassins and they lined up.

"Long Live the Eternal Union and the True Rulers of Equestria and the Crystal Empire!" The knights took their helmets off, none of the assassins or knight looked either like eachother or us, but there was something we needed to do first. The novices and squires lined up. The assassins in front of me, the knights in front of Brian. We removed their horns, leaving no trace of ever having them, the only ones who knew the truth about their species was us, no, they were from then on humans, not just costumes or illusions.

"Commander, Mentor, knights and assassins, may we have your attention for a minute longer" We all turned our attention at them, hand over heart, kneeling. "Commander, Mentor, your apprentices will follow you through your days, even if you might not know about it, they will not miss a chance to do their duty or learn from you"

"Yes your majesty" We replied, then they adressed our novices.

"Squires, Recruits, you have our trust and faith, don't lose it, when in doubt always consult your superiors, when you are not with your superiors you are to fly back here to the castle, where you will each have your individual quarters. If you follow in your predecessor's footsteps, one day, you, like they now will be trusted with training the future generations of the protectors of the innocent, one day you all will be remembered as true heroes, martyrs, and legends, one day you will earn the title of Commander, General, or Master Assassin, and Mentor" We all lined up once again, the royals said out loud a phrase we were meant to use, they each said a part of it, first came Celestia.

"May the sun grant you great procetion, in the time of need"

"May the moon grant you strenght, to protect those who need the most and overpower your enemies" Luna added her part, followed my Cadence.

"And may your heart lead you through hard times, may your heart be strong in times you need it, may your hearts greant you courage, to defend the innocent, or to end the torments of the innocent who can not be saved, may your heart lead you to glory, honor and victory" At the end, we were all blinded by lights, when they were gone we found our most pleasant surprises so far.

"One last thing..." We looked up, the alicorns disappeared, in their places was a white skin, colorful hair knightress Celestia in white set of armor, and a dark blue robed hoodless female assassin, Luna. Behind them, way Cadence as the princess she was, a human in a beautiul dress, even Rarity admired her attire.

"Let the training begin!" Luna exclaimed, we grinned and swapped glances with Brian.

"What do you saw brother? Time to put our skills to the benifit of all?" I held out a hand, he grabbed it and patted me on the back.

"As ready as you are..."
