Apple Biting Season
Chapter 1- One Silent Night
Load Full StorySilent. That is the only way you could describe the night. You could not even hear the peaceful chirping of crickets. But of course, that made it even more peaceful, especially for the little town of Ponyville. All the ponies were sound asleep, not a peep to be heard. Though things were different on the outskirts of town.
"Ahh... Need... Blood..." A cut and bruised unicorn mare was limping and weaving through apple trees, clinging on to life. The mare was white with electric blue hair, and crimson red eyes. She had a mark on her flank of an eighth note, and fangs protruding from her upper jaw.
"Must... Heal. I can't die now!" She said, managing to miraculously gather her strength to walk normally again. She was bleeding quite a little, though not enough to bleed out. But she seemed to be bleeding for quite some time, though. She managed to get to a clearing among the orchard, which housed a gigantic, scarlet barn.
"Oh, I have to drink from here, don't I?" the mare complained. She was unsure with herself, but she knew what she had to, or it would be all over. Slowly, she trotted to the back door and peeked through the screen door. Nobody. Darkness and silence. Slowly she emerged from the outdoors and dashed through the house, swift as a pegasus. It appeared that no one was on the first floor.
"Stairs, stairs, stairs, where are the stairs? I'm gonna bleed out at an moment." she said in anger, quietly cursing to herself. "Ah I should of stayed back like what Lyra said. GAH!" The mare continuously swore until she found the stairway. She slowly crept up the stairs. She looked back noticing the blood trail she left behind. She walked up the stairs, luckily not making a creak as the stairs were old and wooden. There were multiple doors, and she picked the door closest to her. As she opened it, her peripheral vision was starting to blacken, coming close to the point of death. She couldn't walk much farther, as she was now starting to have trouble walking. She opened the door just enough so she could sneak into the room. Luckily it was a bedroom, and occupied too, but the unicorn gasped in horror to see who was in the bed.
"No, I can't drink from her! Well, acually what am I saying, it's not like I hurt anybody. Near-death must be bringing my confidence down. I'm gonna die any minute now, so, hell with it." the mare inched closer to the being in the bed. It was an earth pony mare who had an orange coat and dandelion hair that was obviously not kept neat. The white mare inched closer and closer, until she slowly and softly rolled the orange mare near her, trying not to wake her up. She glared at her neck, opening her mouth wide. She then slowly crept to her neck, but then she hesitated when she heard noises coming from in front of her.
"Uhhhhh... Wha? Huh? Now who are you? Get the buck out of my room! GET OUT!" She yelled in a bold, southern accent. Her attempted shouts were soft, most likly due to drowsiness. She rose to try to attack but she was easily restrained by the other being in the room.
"Calm yourself, you're just a simple meal Applejack." she said in a menacing voice.
" A wha- GAAAHHHH!" Before Applejack could say more, the other mare jolted towards her neck, piercing it with her sharp fangs. She started to slurp the red, liquid contents that oozed from Applejack's neck. As she did, her wounds started to close, and bruised skin turned back to their normal white. It took about a minute, but the white mare was soon done, only because she realized he drank too much. The poor mare on the receiving end fell limp and almost lifeless
The white mare was petrified with horror because of what she just has done. "OH NO! I frogot to stop drinking! Ah, so stupid! I drank to much blood! She's going to be dead!" the near-corpse in front of her was moaning and groaning, with no end. "This is bad, this is bad, this is bad." the mare quickly glanced at the nearly dead Applejack and than face-hoofed."There's no use! I've killed the element of honesty Oh no, oh no, oh no. Wait! I could- no, no that's a bad idea..." She took a quick glance at Applejack again, who obviously had a few breaths of air left, than she finally knew what to do. "I have to!" She took her hoof and bit it, causing it to bleed a small amount.
She went up to Applejack, on the verge of death, opened her mouth, and let her drink the blood of the white mare. After a good amount of blood, Applejack finally closed her eyes. After a few minutes, the unicorn put her ear to Applejack's chest, hearing that her heart stopped beating, but she was breathing.
"Phew, that was close. We'll meet again A.J. I'll make sure of it." The mare smiled as she walked out of the room, shut the door, and left the room, cleaning up all the blood in the blink of an eye. She backtracked through the house and finally left the premise. She looked back, unsure if what she did was a good idea.
"Can she even survive for five seconds? She'll have no idea what's going on! Ugh, Derpy would even laugh at me seeing how much of a klutz I just was, well, I guess there's only one way to find out."
At Canterlot...
Luna was wide awake, doing her usual duty of rising and lowering the moon, but then...
Gasp! Another one has been made! Luna thought to herself. AH! And what is with that spike of pain? Oh no... I've had this feeling before! It means... oh buck. But who and what level of importance? She entered her bedroom and was starting to pace around and mumble to herself until she had her duty to do. Luna sighed to herself before lowering he moon and finally letting Celestia do her part of the day.
"I made an agreement with that silly bunch of idiots. No turning, nonetheless someone of importance! Who did it and who did she bite?! And how will Celestia react? Sigh... Well I guess there's only one way to find out."
