(Chapter 1.) The beginning of the assault.
Unity after war.

In cold mountains lies a base where 10 people grouped together to try and stop the war in this world that has gone on for 9 years. Many have died and have been tortured, but one day this war is going to end. This is the story of how Equestria got conquered by Queen Chrysalis in an Alternate Reality, and got back into unity after the 10 performed the infinite source we call "Unity."
Sombra was in the mountains planning his new device. It was a ray that hadn't been tested yet, the blue print was on the table as the small Lightbulb being the only light in the room allowing him to see clearly.
"This'll do." Sombra said as Twilight heard him speaking.
"You always say that and what happens? We al-." Twilight got cut off as Sombra finished her sentenced for her in a mocking tone.
"We always fail, blah blah blah." Sombra was being rude, he doesn't really face his consequences in this alternate reality and doesn't seem to appreciate others for who they are.
"Ugh, you're such a child." Twilight rolled her eyes. "Hurry up, we have to get ready, the others are waiting." Twilight slowly closed the open wooden door as Sombra sighed.
"She's right...I am a child." Sombra shook his head and got back to working in his room putting the parts together.
[Scene Change.]
We cut to Twilight with the Wonderbolts putting on their armor, Wonderbolts with light armor, and Twilight with regular armor. It was made out of silver and iron. Twilight kept a moonstone necklace which Sombra gave her 5 years ago, "I'll never forget the time that I met Sombra, he actually gave me some hope and made me feel that this world would still survive."
[Flash Back.]
Cities crashing and houses burning as Changelings roam the streets. Twilight was hiding and crying, where were her friends? Sombra quickly runs to her.
"Hey Kid, you okay?" Sombra asked slowly lending his hoof out to her, sniffs were heard from Twilight.
"Y-yes." She cried and sniffed between her words, "What do you want?" Twilight said as she brought her hoof to his as he lifted her up. A wounded leg could be seen on Twilight's left front hoof.
"Uh oh, luckily I have some bandages." Sombra brought out a bandage with his magic as he levitated it bringing it slowly towards Twilight's hoof. "This'll do." The wound was deep, it looked like it was about to snap in half.
Twilight stopped crying and sniffed two more times before smiling. "Th-thank you." Twilight said as she hugged Sombra. Sombra smiled and brought out a moonstone.
"Here, keep this, it might actually bring some hope. My mother gave it to me and now I think that you should have it." The stone shined with adularescence as Twilight now began to cry more with tears of joy. Could their be hope still in this world?
Changelings could be heard walking around. Twilight was afraid. "Come on, we have to go." Sombra and Twilight sneaked far away together waiting for the war to end, and Sombra had a feeling that it wouldn't be anytime soon.
[Flashback End.]
A sigh escaped Twilight's mouth. Twilight rubbed the moonstone for a second before Spitfire stopped her.
"Okay okay, we get it, really touchy flashback. We have to prepare for our attack." Spitfire and the rest of the Wonderbolts went upstairs. Sombra came out with the invention.
"It's complete!" Sombra attempted to squeeze it through the door, all attempts failed. "Okay forget this." Sombra made the laser cannon teleport behind Twilight with his magic.
"Okay I'll figure this out soon enough, come on let's go."
[Scene change.]
The rest are outside of the base slowly getting on the ground as they go down the custom made elevator.
"So...anyone got any snacks?" Soarin said as the rest of the team looked at him.
"No..." Everyone said at Soarin, although, they hadn't eaten in like a whole day and they were running out of food.
"Okay, good thing this laser cannon has a driving system." Sombra said as Twilight looked at him.
"Wait a minute, so you're telling me that you can drive that thing?" Twilight asked.
"Yes." Sombra brought out a remote as the Cannon slowly opened up slots that looked like windows. They took a look inside and gasped in amazement, it looked high-tech!
"Wow..." Fleetfoot said as she got in the passenger seat. "I call shotgun!"
Sombra got in the driving seat and the rest got in the back as they drove back to the Crystal Empire.
Part 2: The Cities.
Everything looked abandoned, no one was there, except for maybe Changelings?
Everyone hopped out of the vehicle and closed the doors. "Alright, check for any clues." Sombra said as the rest nodded their heads. Each pegasus flew in the air flying over houses, while Twilight and Sombra stayed together on the ground.
A note was left on the ground, it looked dusty and dirty. "What's this?" Sombra said as he grabbed it with his magic.
He began to read.
The Note: Sombra, if you ever get this, I just want you to know that I always love you, and always will. Never give up, I'll always be with you in the place of unity, the heart.
-Sincerely, Sombra's Mom.
Sombra began to cry as Twilight looked at him, she was surprised. "S-Sombra, you alright?" Twilight slowly brought her hoof to his face to try and get his attention.
"No! I'm not alright! My mother is dead and she's gone, and I haven't seen her in such a long time. I guess I'll have to leave it behind I guess and just move on." Sombra said as he dropped his head down frowning slightly.
Twilight was amazed, he never heard words like that come out of Sombra's mouth. "Don't worry, we'll find a way to cheer you up." Twilight said.
"Thank you Twilight, that means a lot to me."
[Scene change.]
The Wonderbolts see a pony on the ground that seemed to be frozen, the weather was crazy, one side would be hot while the other side would be cold. "I see something!" Soarin said pointing at the ground only to see a pony on the ground that seemed to be injured really bad. It was Pinkie Pie, she looked like she was dead.
"I'm going to check." Spitfire said floating down slowly, she stopped at the ground. Spitfire brought her ear towards her heart and heard a slight beat. "Well she's alright, we just gotta get her to safety." Spitfire said turning her head up at the sky to face the rest of the Wonderbolts.
"Is she okay?" Fleetfoot asked facing Soarin.
"I'm sure she is, hey Spit!" Soarin shouted at Spitfire.
"...What!" Spitfire was annoyed at Soarin calling her "Spit." instead of her full name.
"You okay?! Should we come down?!" Soarin shouted again this time slightly louder.
"No don't come down, and yes I'm okay! I'll be up in a minute!" Spitfire begin to carry Pinkie up with her.
"That's Pinkie Pie..." FleetFoot said.
"I know...I wonder what's she doing all out her-." Spitfire was cut off by Twilight.
"Everyone we have to go!" Twilight shouted at the Wonderbolts as they flew straight to her, Spitfire made sure just to be careful with Pinkie so that she wouldn't fall.
Sombra stopped to see a Pink pony in Spitfire's hand, "That's Pinkie, she looks bruised, looks like we have to heal her up when we get back, for now we have to continue moving, let's put her in the Cannon Car."
Everyone nodded and entered the car with Pinkie on Spitfire's lap. Sombra started to drive and everyone went to Ponyville, prepared with full armor and weapons.
