My Little Pony: The Story Continues
Where friends meet
Load Full Story"I don't wanna go to school mom! a little orange colt with a blue mane streaked with magenta whined, flapping his wings in annoyance as his mother replied from behind him, "No, you'll go to school just like any other colt and filly. Maybe you'll meet some friends!"
"Argh!"
Comet Sentry was sitting at the breakfast table with his mother Twilight Sparkle pacing rapidly in the background, "Did you pack your lunch?"
"Yes"
"Your books?"
"yup"
"paper and pencil?"
"Yes mom I have everything, just like the last hundred times you checked it!" Comet turned to see Twilight levitating a long list in front of her muzzle, squinting through glasses at the checklist she had probably been checking, double checking, and triple checking all morning.
"It's ok Twilight Comet'll be just fine" ,Comet's father walked up and put a comforting wing around the lavender Princess, "He's probably been ready for this weeks ago, and you are becoming a little crazier than normal" , the royal guard smirked as Twilight jerked her head from the list and looked him in the eyes, "I'm just making sure that he's ready, there's no harm in it".
"How about this. I'll take Comet to school and you" ,Flash poked Twilight in the nose with a hoof, "Can take a break and relax". This seemed to make the Alicorn calm down a little, "Fine but make sure he's got everything on the way there".
"Lightning Dash get back here! We don't have time for this!"
Up in a cloud mansion near Ponyville, Rainbow Dash was having a little more trouble with her little colt than Twilight.
The little charcoal colored colt was wizzing through the house, his mane made up of three primary colors flying out behind him. Suddenly he jerked to a stop and landed roughly on the ground, Rainbow Dash stood over him, holding the tip of his tail with her mouth. "I was gonna fly with you the long way but I see that you want to get to school right away". Lightning looked up at her and sighed, "fine".
An apple and some lemonade later Rainbow had filled the colt's saddle with lunch, books, and a pencil and notebook. Seeing the sad look on her sons face she breathed an inward sigh, "Tell you what. We'll take the short way, but I'll race ya!". Lightning seemed to light up at this and before Rainbow could say another word, he was gone in a poof of feathers and a blur of colors. Grinning, rainbow laughed, "Oh no ya don't" ,and gave chase, quickly closing the distance between her and her son.
"Mom, No! I can't! What if they laugh at me!" Rarity reassured her daughter by running a hoof through her mane.
"No darling, nopony will laugh at you", not seeing her child look any better she continued her thought, "A- and even if they do, just tell them that your mommy's the Element of Generosity, and that you are very good friends with a ferocious fire-breathing dragon!" This made her smile a little.
"I- I don't think that daddy counts as a friend, couldn't I just say he's my father? That might clear things up a bit for the other fillies and colts there". Rarity shrugged, "That could work too", then she paused, "But I still dough't that anypony in their right mind would laugh at such a beautiful filly like you".
The filly got up from the window overlooking the town and walked over to a mirror, reaching out to touch her reflection, her icy blue dragon eyes followed her three-clawed hoof to the glass, her mane was a blueish-lavender and had little horns growing back just above her ears. Her small white body was covered in a kind of soft scale, like fur but fireproof, and her tail was long and ended in an almost feathery tip of short hair. "But I'm not really a filly. I don't know what I am", again she broke into quiet sobs while her mother tried to comfort her, once again running a hoof threw her mane. "It doesn't matter what you are on the outside, Claire, as much as it matters what is in here" ,Rarity put a hoof up to her daughters chest, receiving a smile in return, "Thank you mommy. For everything".
"Aww shoot. Ah reckon that Ah could stay on'a farm ma who' life, an never go ta school one day. Ah could buck apples all day an' night". A brown energetic little colt made a bucking motion with his back hooves, as if he was already bucking apples out on the farm. His aunt Applebloom was sitting at a circular table with a bowl of applesauce in front of her, a straw connecting her mouth with the bowl as she slurped it up.
"Seasonal, ya know Ah still hav' ta take ya. An' ya can still buck apples wid' me after". Seasonal Apple seemed unimpressed, but then brightened up at the mention of working on the farm with his aunt. "Ya really mean it?", Applebloom dropped her straw, "Sure as sugar ah am! Now c'mon, Lets getcha ta school".
Before they could get out the door, Seasonal Apple sneezed... And turned yellow. "Wait up now Seasonal! Leaving without saying goodbye?" Seasonal turned around to see his mother and father. Applejack had her hair in a long golden braid down her side, next to her was Seasonal's father. He was actually somewhat shorter than the Element of Honesty, being a Changeling and all. He buzzed his insect-like wings and smiled at his son.
"Hey wait up cuz'!"
Another small colt galloped up to Seasonal's side, bumping hooves with him, "Are you ready for day one?" The colts wavy yellow mane covering half of his face, leaving only one of his sea green eyes to view.
Seasonal laughed to himself, "Hay yeah, Littlemac! Aunt Applebloom said that Ah could go and help her with the Applebuckin' if Ahm good!" , he concluded with a smile as Littlemac looked down at his hooves, a small smile graced his face.
"My mom's back at the cottage tendin' to the animals, and sis is right there with her. So she said that I could tag along with you guys". Seasonal grinned and threw a hoof around his cousins shoulders, "Well, You're all right with me!", and they waved goodbye to Applejack and Seasonal's father as they followed Applebloom down to the schoolhouse.
