Detective Ace and The Gold Medal
In most situations, crime can happen at the dead of the night when everyone is asleep and not cautious of what things might occur. The keen criminals only rob a house or store when the owner of it is not there or at least a heavy sleeper; otherwise, they leave it alone. But then there are those who barge in and take what they want and leave without anything blocking their way, but that only leaves so much prints and evidence behind giving the police an easier case to work with. But with the tough ones, they have to call in an expert like a detective.
The quiet dark night could easily be visible once getting used to it, most of the light would shine off of Luna's moon like a flash of bright blue revealing the road ahead for a wandering traveler. But it seems that on this very night a crime would be committed.
And on this quiet night sitting on a nearby cloud easily camouflaged in the darkness is a very suspicious looking pony who hid behind the cloud as they studied the house of a Pegasus to only notice it's inhabitant exiting through the front door. The Pegasus had looked around with a very discreet look and slowly began to fly away leaving the culprit with an easier task.
The culprit had put on gloves and covered their face with a ski mask, they then began jumping from one cloud to another until they ended up at the door. The culprit smirked as they began to pick the lock with ease cracking it easily, they slowly opened the door and looked around to notice the house was a bit of a mess, but completely empty. they had to be careful not to trip on anything and leave behind any prints, but in the end the culprit knew what their true intentions were. To steal what was rightfully theirs, but the culprit didn't lose their focus as they began to slowly walked through the house cautious not to run into anything.
The culprit looked everywhere until they were looking around the empty bedroom and found the object they were looking for. The culprit grinned as they slowly went up to it, basking in its glory for a few short moments before swiping it and bolting straight out of the house as fast as their hooves would take them.
In about a few hours the owner of the house had come back to notice the door wide open, she soon shrugged and entered her home closing the door behind her and locking it. Letting out a long sigh she headed up the stairs as her expression changed slightly to a depressed state over something, but she shook her head and entered her bedroom.
she closed the door behind her completely oblivious of the object missing from her dresser, she lazily fell on top of the bed not even bothering putting the covers over her and fell asleep without even a whimper. But when she would wake up in the following day, she would be more distraught as she was that night.

In the small town of Ponyville lived amounts of ponies who had moved away from their old cities to start a new life or to get away from the dark past that brought them to the town in the first place and just wanting to get away from all that. No one pushes people here in Ponyville, if they have a dark past then they don't need to know about it. Ponies were all friends with each other, it was actually a lot better since the castle had showed up out of nowhere and Twilight Sparkle finally gained a role in her Princess duties. Friendship. But there are still petty crimes here, just because there is a Princess living there now doesn't mean it's going to stop them.
Ponyville had small building structures that aligned with each other with a big open space in between them, giving off a path for people to browse or get to a place in time without any buildings to go around. Quick and simple, just how most ponies loved it.
In those line of buildings had a structure that was abandoned but bought by a pony from Manehattan, he had just finished furnishing it with a simple brown desk with a small table lamp and a black rolling chair that would fit with the desk. Across from it two leather chairs were positioned towards the desk with an end table inbetween them. Behind the desk was a small window that showed the road with the other buildings, the front door was placed on the other side of the room on the same wall as the window.
Across the room from the front door was the bathroom, in that room had a Unicorn in a brown trench coat covering his eyes sitting on the closed toilet seat. He uncovered his eyes and stared at the wall in front of him as images of his past clouded his mind like a parasprite flying around like wildfire eating everything in sight. He tried to block the images from his mind but it stuck to him and made him get up from the seat to stare up at himself in the mirror.
He looked at his light brown fur letting out a soft sigh as he stared at his reflection not even recognizing himself. He looked at the slight bags under his eyes for being sleep deprived and the 5 o'clock shadow that crossed from ear to ear with the it covering the lower half of his face besides his lips. He looked at his trench coat which had a suit jacket underneath it with a white buttoned up shirt to match. He softly smiled at his outfit and reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a leather case then opened it to reveal his official badge he had received his first day here. 'Detective Ace|Ponyville|EQ'
He looked back at the mirror to stare at his slightly messy dark brown hair. He sighed and used his magic to lift the comb that was surrounded by his light brown aura. He looked at the mirror again and began to comb his hair so he wouldn't look unprofessional.
Even after putting the comb back down Ace continued to stare at the mirror of the pony that he himself didn't recognize, his past was still haunting him at this current moment in the sealed bathroom. "Who are you...?" His voice cracked, asking the only question he would never be able to answer himself. Continuing to stare at the mirror he began to recall when the last time he used to be... Happy.
Ace's mind flashed back to the certain day in Manehattan, police lights of red and blue flashing his vision making it blur the memory. But he remembered that day clearly, his world as he knew it slowed down and the noises that blasted throughout the neighborhood muted for the time being as Ace wanted to see what was going on. The police held him back, restricting access to the crime scene. He could remember how he would struggle hard against the police that had a tight grip on him and confined him to get to the body that was being pulled on a gurney. Ace could hear the muffled voices of the police holding him back shout and push, the feeling of regret and pain combined with suffering brought him to misery and deep despair.
Ace was soon pulled back into reality as he heard a bell outside telling him that he had a visitor. He looked back up at the mirror to realize he had been slightly crying, he quickly grabbed a hand towel and began to wipe his eyes clean of any tears.
"Hello?" A young mare's voice called from outside the bathroom.
Ace never glanced at the door as he continued to clean his face. "One second!" He called out taking a deep breath and looked at himself to make sure it didn't look like he had been crying. He didn't want ponies to ask questions. After calming himself down he opened the door to the bathroom to meet with a cyan colored mare with rainbow streaks in her mane. She had looked at him with a concerned look on her face.
"Detective Ace?" She asked.
Ace nodded. "Yes, what can I help you with?" He asked.
The mare soon smiled. "I'm Rainbow Dash, I heard you just moved here."
"Why yes, it's been nice here for the past couple days." He gestured towards the chairs near the desk. "Please, sit." He offered.
Rainbow sat down and let out a sigh as she rubbed the back of her head.
Ace sat down at his desk, looking at the mare to notice she looked a bit nervous. "So, back to my previous question. What can I help you with?" He asked.
"Uh..." Rainbow started, trying to find the right words. "Do you investigate things like somepony stealing something?" She asked.
"Robbery." Ace answered for her.
"Yes, I may need your help with something along the lines of that." Rainbow gave a soft smile. "My house was broken into last night, well not really broken into nothing was destroyed just something was stolen."
Ace leaned forward. "Are you sure it wasn't misplaced?" He asked.
"Absolutely not, I kept it on my dresser and have not moved it since I had it."
"So, how are you certain your house was broken into?" Ace continued with the questions.
"My door... it was wide open. I closed it and locked it, I'm certain about that. I never was really bothered by it, I just thought I accidentally left it open." She slightly quivered, like she was holding something back.
Ace had noticed this but continued. "What time was it when you found your door wide open?"
"2 o'clock in the morning."
"That early? What were you doing up?"
Rainbow's nose scrunched up. "Uh..." She began. "I didn't actually sleep that night."
"What for?" Ace asked, interested in what she had to say.
"Uh... I sort of woke up from a nightmare, I wandered my house and that's when I saw my door wide open." Rainbow's lip slightly twitched after explaining.
"Are you a light or a heavy sleeper?" Ace asked.
Rainbow tilted her head. "I'm a light sleeper, I sometimes have to wear earplugs to block out some noise so I don't wake up grumpy." She said truthfully. "Is that important?"
Ace nodded. "Yes. Every detail is important." Ace got up from his seat and made his way towards the chair she was sitting in. "Is it alright if I search your house?" He asked.
Rainbow nodded. "So... you're going to help me?" She then began to smile.
Ace smiled back. "I am."
Rainbow smiled standing up. "Thank you."
"Wait... What was stolen?" Ace asked, he seemed to have forgotten that question.
Rainbow let out a sigh. "It was a gold medal from the Sections Race at Cloudsdale I had competed in and won of course."
Ace nodded. "Hmm... Well, let's not waste anymore time."
"Awesome!" She cheered, bolting to the door.
Ace began to walk to the door when his vision became blurry as flashes of images scorched his mind, he groaned in pain as he held his head.
Rainbow turned to notice this and quickly headed over. "Are you alright Ace?" She asked.
Ace nodded. "I'm fine... Just trauma..."
Rainbow nodded. "Here, let me help you."
"No!" Ace snapped, he realized this and shook his head as he regained his senses. "Sorry, I didn't mean to snap like that."
Rainbow suddenly felt pity for him, but let it go. "Alright, you good?" She asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Ace returned to normal and began to follow Rainbow Dash.
Detective Ace was finally going to start his first investigation in Ponyville, a new start with a new case.
