It was December 31st in Equestria. Everypony was excited for the new year. Of course, nothing was as exciting as watching the fireworks at midnight, when the months changed from December to January. Fillies and Colts were ecstatic.

"So Lightning, we'll meet you at the Ponyville Park at midnight?" Dancing asked Lightning as she turned to her mothers.

"Yep. Annie, you better be there. Harmonic is gonna be there and I'm pretty sure she wants to see Lunar." Lightning said turning to her bat-pony friend.

"You got it. Daffodil, are you and parents gonna be there?" Annie said putting a hoof on her earth-pony friend.

"Roseluck and Grass Grazer never miss New Year's." Daffodil said referring to her parents, Roseluck and Grass Grazer.

Dancing Star went to her parents, as did Daffodil, and Annie and Lightning turned to the older couple. They saw the image of the older sister and the older cousin drinking hot chocolate out of the same mug as each other.

"Did the rest of the fillies go home?" Lunar asked the 2 younger ponies.

Both fillies gave a nod. Lunar got out of his seat and kissed Harmonic on the cheek. Brush blushed as she chuckled.

"I'll see you tonight." He said before picking up his bat-pony cousin and walking away.

"Let's go Harmonic. We need to get home." Orchid said as she tugged on her sister's hoof.

Harmonic didn't reply, just simply took to the skies, as her sister shortly followed. The winter wind was barely anything for Harmonic to take, although it was a hefty load for Orchid. She almost fell due to being snowbound, and would've if the purple pegasus with blue and green hair caught her. They walked inside the house, met by their enthusiastic mother, Rainy Wind, who loved the holidays.

"You guys excited! Cause I'm excited! I love the holidays!" Rainy said as she bounced all over the room.

"Are you sure you're not related to Pinkie Pie?" Harmonic said interrupting her mother. Rainy only grunted in response.

It was 11:34 pm in Ponyville, so the park was overflowing with ponies in Ponyville who came to see the fireworks. As Lightning Orchid, Rainy Wind, and Harmonic Brush arrived, they met up with friends. Rainy met up with Roseluck, Daffodil's mom, and her father, Grass Grazer. Lightning met up with Daffodil, Annie, and Dancing Star. Harmonic had her eye on a certain dark blue unicorn with dark purple and black hair. He quickly noticed her and caught up to her.

"Hey Lunar." Harmonic said opening up her arms.

"Hi Harmonic." Lunar said hugging her. "How are you?"

"Good." she said sitting on the grass.

"So many memories of this year, remember how the fillies made us kiss?" the dark-blue unicorn said as he chuckled thinking of the memory.

"Yea! My mom got pretty mad at me for not telling her I was dating a colt!" Harmonic said chuckling alongside her colt friend.

"And when I asked you out. Ah, I'll never forget your beautiful moonlit face, and the look of shock and beauty in your eyes." he said as Harmonic blushed.

They both thought back to that very moment, proving their psychic connection.

Lunar and Harmonic sat at a night picnic lit by Luna's bright moon and beautiful night. Lunar spoke up as Harmonic got up to left.

"Wait Harmonic!" Lunar cried out, desperate for the mare not to go.

"Yes Lunar?" Harmonic said turning back to the unicorn.

"I have a lot of fun when I'm around you." Lunar said getting up, walking closer to the purple pegasus.

"Same here." Brush said unfolding her wings, almost ready to take off.

"So..I was wondering if..maybe you wanted to go out sometime?" Moonlight questioned hopefully.

"Of course." Harmonic said. "I have to go, but I'll see you tomorrow? Sugar Cube Corner?" Harmonic said as she slightly hovered above the ground. The unicorn stallion nodded. "Ok, bye." She said as she waved.

"Bye." Lunar said using his telekinesis to clean up the picnic, as the pegasus mare left a trail of purple, blue and green as she dashed away.

"I love hearths warming! What about you?" Brush asked changing the subject.

"I love this time of year the most. You know what my favourite part of this year was?" Lunar said putting an arm around his mare friend.

"What?" the purple pegasus said looking up at the slightly larger pony.

"Meeting you. I'll never forget it.." Lunar said staring at the night sky.

"Me neither.." Harmonic said as she flash-backed.

A young Harmonic Brush flew around in the night sky. She was heading home when her wings tucked in, unable to open them, and she started to fall, just missing a cloud by an inch. As she screamed, some pony heard her. The unicorn stallion quickly ran towards the screaming noise so that his magic would be in reach. He was highly skilled in telekinesis, but weak in other magical fields. As he got closer, he used his magic to stop her from hitting the ground.

"Phew, that was a close one." Lunar said setting down the young mare as he wiped sweat off his brow.

He took a closer look at the mare as his eyes widened and his jaw hung open.

"Hi, I'm Lunar." Moonlight said offering his hoof to the mare.

"Name's Harmonic." the mare said taking his hoof and shaking it.

"We'll I'll see you around." he said walking away.

"Bye." Brush said opening up her wings and flying away towards her home.

The 2 were cut out of the flash-back when ponies started chanting 10..9..8.. They joined in and counted down to one. Fireworks shot in the sky lit by Spike the Dragon, and ponies started cheering. Harmonic turned to Lunar.

"Happy new year Harmonic." Lunar said as he started at her.

"Happy new year." Harmonic said looking back at Moonlight.

Both ponies close their eyes and leaned in, lips touching, muting out the noise of the cheering ponies. As they pulled away, they nuzzled each other. This is a start of a new year, a chance to make new memories.

I just wanted to get the chance to write this special for you all. Almost missed the 10 second countdown because of it! I am probably gonna make Lunarbrush one-shots every holiday, maybe leading up to a multi-chapter fic about this OC pair. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYPONY! !
