"My Mom always said the good actor's belong in the theater, but the best belong in mansions. And as you might of guess my kind are natural born thespians. But in recent years we've been getting a bad rap. In the words of a drunk mare, "the only good changeling is a dea-" she had vomited before finishing her sentence.
Her name was Cherry, she was actually one of my drinking buddy's after the invasion. She is a grate mother to her little foal and a grate friend. I actually had to foalsit for her once or t-"
"You're getting off track! Tell us where the base is." I was abruptly cut off by the purple princess herself. Twilight sparkle, Celestia's show dog. I sighed and lifted my shackled hooves that constantly reminded me of my situation.
"Maybe if you ask nicely I'll tell you where it is" I said with a sarcastic grin. The princess was beyond angry at this point. She huffed and stormed off down the dimly lit dungeon hall.
"Get the good cop in here already!" I yelled with a short chuckle. I looked at myself in the cracked mirror over the sink in the other side of the cell. I stopped laughing seeing what had become of me, I was skin and bones. Love is hard to get in jail, hard but not unobtainable. Sadly the only pony i'd been in contact for the past week with was Twilight, and she harbors a deep hatred for changelings. Ever sense her brother was held hostage by our queen she's had a understandable hate. But that's not what others saw, she's always been remembered to be the racist type. Living the privileged royal life will do that to you. Along with Changelings she holds prejudice against Griffons and Bat ponies. No love was to come from her.
And so I waited, and waited some more. I watched how a cockroach climbed the cell bar as if it where a mountain. Motionless, I gazed in suspense as if i was invested in this cockroaches adventure to the top of the cell door. A Loud shaking of the cell door snapped me back into my predicament. The guard was shocked at my responsiveness. He was covered in head to toe in gold armor, and yet he was still scared of my sudden movements.
"So, how am i going to die?" I asked in a monotone voice. He looked confused as he opened the cell door.
"I, was instructed not to tell you what our destination is creature." He said as I staggered up right. He motioned me to walk down the hall, from my experience he was the lest pushy guard here. The others would shout at me and shove me to the ground if I was walking to slow, but this guard allowed her to take her sweet time. Maybe this really was her last walk. Of course, they send the nice one to send me to my death. As if it was a message to any undercover changelings in the Canterlot Guard.
"Right here Madam." He stopped in front of a iron door.
Execution was out of the question, if they where going to do it where others could watch. Most likely in front of a government building to drive the point home. Behind the iron door was either going to be a torture chamber or a new isolation cell, both equally frightened me. The guard opened to door and signaled me to walk into the pitch black room. I sheepishly walked forward into the dark room.
The moment I heard the door slam behind me the blinding lights where turned on. I grunted as my eyes tried to adjust to the new conditions.
"Are you okay?" A timid familiar voice asked. No it couldn't be, Twilight had to have enough respect not to send-
"Fluttershy, this is the changeling we've, acquired." Twilight voice was at best sadistic as she introduced me like a prize in her bug collection. Fluttershy looked in horror, I couldn't tell if she was in shock to see a monster or if she had connected the dots. He friend went missing and Twilight catches a monster in the same week, that wasn't a coincidence to her.
"She has a few questions for you." Twilight said with a dead serious tone. Fluttershy just started at me, with those crystal clear eyes. I walked over to the seat across from her's and sat without making a sound.
"Could you tell me where the hide out is please, if that's okay with you?" She said in her signature sheepish tone. I breathed a sigh of relief realizing my audience still hast seen through my rouse. Then it hit me, Twilight knew and didn't tell her. She had brought me in here to confess.
"Go on, tell her." Twilight said with a smirk. I opened my mouth but found no words could even describe what had happen to led up to this moment. "Or maybe we should start with something else, tell me how did you survive the invasion last month?!" Twilight shouted, she saw I was already shaken up by the sight of the yellow Pegasus.
"Twilight don't be rude, look at the poor thing you scared him senseless." Fluttershy said in retaliation.
"I'm a mare." I spoke braking my silence. Fluttershy looked at me with her understanding and forgiving eyes. "Could you tell us about yourself dear?" She spoke in a kind, trustworthy voice that had a calming effect on me. "I-" a quick glance at Twilight closed my mouth before my brain told it to stop moving. Instead I just looked down onto the ground in defeat.
"Would you like some food?" My head shot up instinctive. Fluttershy picked up her saddlebag and looked through it. I drooled in anticipation for any form of sustains. She took out a small bin of chocolate chip cookies. I scooted up to the table and gave her the best impression of a puppy. She extended her hoof and I slowly and carefully lifted my own. She smiled as she put it on the table. I quickly snatched it up and nearly inhaled the small heavenly disk. Even the Twilight herself looked shocked at how quickly I had costumed it. "Twilight have you been feeding her?" Fluttershy said in a alarmed tone
"I was under the impression the guards where feeding it." she responded in the most incident tone she could muster. I looked up at Fluttershy with a blank stare.
I simply couldn't preform under theses conditions. A changeling who couldn't act is a dead changeling, that's what we where thought. But I had no choice."F-...Fluttershy" I said in my own feminine voice. "I have a story that might interest you and, the princess." I said as I sat up in my chair. Fluttershy looked at me patiently. Now was my moment, to tell my story, my flaws, and my secrets, however dark they where. They both stared at me, suspense filled the room until I whispered.
"Can i have another cookie before I begin?"
