Alone in Equestriaby Earth GalvanisingChaptersThe Dark Cold TownApologiesSuprise TransmissionOne Way JourneyFinal RunAuthors NoteThe Dark Cold TownMy name is Twilight Sparkle, weilder of the Magic Element Of Harmony. After the royal wedding everything was perfect, nothing that disturbed the peace of the land, and no need to use the Elements. But, I had a feeling, a feeling of impending doom loomed over us, but I was the only one who sensed it. All the time, whenever I spoke out it's always "You're Paranoid Twilight!" I wasn't. Discord had Returned, and teamed up with changling queen, Chrysalis. I find myself as the only pony left in Ponyville, heck, Equestria even. One by one, I saw my friends disapear, starting with those who the duo saw as a threat. First Applejack, Honesty. Then, Rainbow Dash, Loyalty. Next, Pinkie Pie, Laughter. Finally, Fluttershy, Kindness and Rarity, Generosity. And now, I remain, this was his plan, to leave me... Alone. Today was just the same for me, get up, have breakfast, and walk the streets of the desolate town, Ponyville. The once colourful walls, that showed life and spirit, were now drained, No colour, no life, just grey. I walk over to Rarity's house first, Carousel Boutique, to care for Opal. This is what I do now, the companions of my dead friends are now my only form of sanity. Were it not for them, I would of suffered the same fate as many others had before. As I exit the fasion unicorns old home, I stare at the floor, looking at the blood that stains the floor, this is the only bit of colour that remains. Those who were lucky, were killed by Discord. Others, took their own life. I however, refuse to kill myself, I know what my friends would've wanted, for me not to suffer. But, with their pets that remain, they are the only source of happiness that touches my broken soul. I look up at the sky, and there floats a rather disfigured cloud palace, old home to the Wielder of Loyalty. Upon further inspection, I realise that the sun was not in the sky, I remember why. There was a radio broadcast that day, it was huge, 'SUN AND MOON SET FOREVER' Discord and Chrysalis had announced the defeat of Luna and Celestia, who fell into the dark abyss known as death. The announcement included the princesses final words and the cries of terror and sadness as they clung on to each other, staring at their coming demise. I teleport myself up to the cloud home, and with the pony enchantment for cloud walking, I feed Tank, who was as sad and lonely as the once regal cat, Opal. After feeding nd caring for the tortoise, I fly over to the Sweet Apple Acres, and I do my same routine for the farm pony's dog. The trees at the farm are all grey, they bare no leaves, and the wood has rotted to the core. No apples have grown here for months and the sense of gloom is much more amplified here than anywhere else. In the distance I see a collapsed tree house, it was of course the remains of the Cutie Mark Crusaders clubhouse. I turn away instantly, and she'd a tear as I remember the screams of pain those poor, poor fillies let out in their last heart beats. I start to head back into to town, Gummy and ALL of of Fluttershy's animals had returned to the wild, and left their old homes to take the course of time. Avoiding the stains of crimson red on the floor I trot on towards the library, which now as only one inhabitant; me. Spike had disappeared long ago, trying to protect Rarity, I presume. As for Owlicious, she had escaped the gloomy wasteland that is Equestria, and now lives on the other side of the planet. I know this because I had tracked her, put a device on her right talon, and it allows me to find her location at any time. Though, she had completely disappeared of the map after a few months of 'King' Discord's reign. I approach the door of the library, the tree it lives in now grey and rotten and the windows shattered. Before I step in I look towards Canterlot, as see the large black vortex that circles the castle's throne room. Up to this day I have never worked out why the cloud like tornado is there, but I know that changling patrols are always searching there. Which reminds me, changelings. They have often toyed with my tormented heart and taken the form of an old friend of mine, I always used to fall for the tricks and embraced the faker in a hug of relief, it always ended up though with me grasping the cold damp air as the only glimmer of hope, even if it was false, evaporated and blew away, leaving me all alone once again. I step into the place I call home and switch on the lights, there is a delay but it finally flicks on. The lighting flickers on and off frequently as I go around my business in the library, like a power cut that just keeps happening. I walk up to the table that stands by my bed and switch on the radio. "Hello residents of Equestria, or should I really say Twilight Sparkle! It is King Discord here, reminding you Twilight that you are alone!" Discord. Again, his daily torture for me. Everyday he reminds me on how sad and lonely I am here, and how I failed to keep my friends alive. I hang my head as my thoughts wallow in despair and sorrow. I climb into bed and turn the radio off. This is my only escape, my only safe haven, my dreams. The one place where I can still laugh and smile. I stare at Spikes old bed for a short second and then turn off the lights. I start to cry as I remember the cries for help my friends had made as they took their final stand. Those cries for help. The help that never came. ApologiesToday was a day like any other has been. I slept poorly last night, and woke up to the sensation of sweat dripping of my coat. Nightmares, again. This time it was different though, I dreamt that Discord had taken my life, but I just, kept on living, I was forced to watch my friends tears of sadness and that hurt more than the knife that had just penetrated my chest. I took a different route to Rarity's house today, one that took me by the ruins of The Sun Shrine. Once, this place of worship was a magical place, people from all corners of Equestria would come to visit this holy place, but look at it now. The once bright colours are now faded, and the statues battered. During the era of peace, you could hear the prayers, and the happy cheers on the one time Celestia herself came down to the shrine. Now, all I hear are the screams of terror that echoed around here as the last stronghold against Discord and Chrysalis. I finally reach Rarity's old place of work and when I go through the door, I'm greeted by a sight that will haunt me forever. Rarity, I'm sorry. Opal is dead, she passed away in the dead of the night, at least, that's what my magic diagnosis tells me. Why is still what I'm trying to work out. Maybe because of... Sadness, she hasn't seen her owner for months now, and she was getting more reluctant to move everyday I saw her. Well, she suffers no more, and I gave her a proper burial next to where I made a memorial for her owner. I walk out of the now abandoned boutique, no inhabitants, and no hope of anyone needing to return. I finished the rest of my pet run surprisingly quickly today, and was glad to just sit down at home, and linger in my thoughts. I'll write a letter, to Celestia. She may not be alive anymore, but I'm sure it will do my guilty conscious good, after my sorrow today. Dear Princess Celestia You may not be with us anymore, but I'm writing this to put my troubled mind to rest. I listened to your final moments And I only wish I could have done something to help. My life is now a dark abyss of sadness, of which I'm forever falling down. You may know I am the last pony in Equestria. But to add to my sorrow, I could have helped my friends. This is the guilt that will stay with me forever. When all of them faced their oncoming demise, there was a window of opportunity of which I had a chance to step in. But, I did not, I watched in fear as part of my life was slowly ripped apart from me, one by one. This ends my final letter to you, Princess Celestia. Your student forever, Twilight Sparkle, the last pony in Equestria. I use my magic to send my letter, using a spell that Celestia taught me, in case of emergency, I would have to use this spell. 3:00pm, time for Disord's torment. I only listen to him because I feel this is my only form of conversation, and the fact it takes my mind of my previous experiences. I walk over to my bed, sit down on it, and turn on the beaten radio. That's odd. The broadcast has not started, and it is 3:15. Discord is never late, nor is Chrysalis. Is this their new form of torture? Not saying anything at all? But finally, in the darkest part of my house, sound finally comes from the radio. Not one that reminds me of my guilt, or one that tells tells me I'm alone. No, I'm greeted by a voice that sparks life into my heart again. "He-Hello? This is Applejack, Element of Honesty, can anyone hear me?" Suprise TransmissionI stopped in my tracks. A spark of hope flooded through my whole body, was it really her? I mean, I saw her die at Sweet Apple Acres, Applejack and Big Mac died trying to protect the Cutie Mark Crusaders. I rush back to the table, using my magic as a transmitter so she could hear me too. "APPLEJACK! I HEAR YOU! THIS IS TWILIGHT SPARKLE!!" I felt my emotions erupt as shouted at the radio. There was a short silence. "Tw-Twilight?! Girls! It's Twilight! Get over here!" Her voice seemed to drown out as she called. 'Girls?' Are they alive too?! Applejack I saw die saving the CMC, Rainbow Dash died with The Wonderbolts, she and Soarin shared a kiss in their dying moments. Fluttershy died showing her true colours, attempting to save the animals of the Everfree Forest with Zecora. Pinkie perished saving the Cake family. Rarity simply stood up to her demise. But eventually, I heard the voices that I thought were forever gone. "TWILIGHT!? WHERE THE HAY ARE YOU!?" Rainbow Dash, she sounded like she was the on the brink of tears, yet arrogance lingered in her voice. "Rainbow Dash! I should be asking you girls the same question! Also, how the buck did manage to contact me?!" There was a grunt of pain, Rarity? She doesn't even know the basics of magic, let alone methods of contact. Where exactly were they? I've scanned the whole of Equestria for other ponies before, and nothing came up! How are they alive? "Twilight, We have not got the time to chit chat." Rarity finally managed to talk to me, though pain and strain filled her tone. "Right, Right. Okay. Where are you exactly?" I finally got my nerves together, maybe now I'll be able to find out where they are, and how to defeat Discord. "Twilight, We're....Ground....Vortex..." Not now! The radio can't die now! I try using my magic to boost the radio's signal and power. "I didn't get that Dash. Where are you?!" "We're underground! The vortex over Discord's castle creates a barrier that you cannot get through! You need to get sentenced here, or find another way!" OF COURSE! The vortex wasn't creating chaos! It was holding every pony in Equestria! "Girls... Are the princesses still there?" The awnser I recieved I could not have prepared for, something that simply made me cry. "Twilight... Celestia and Luna really were... mudered. We were there..." That settled it. I was going to break into Canterlot, save my friends, and take Discord down. He will pay for what he's done, and for Chrysalis? She won't have need to feed off of love anymore, because she'll be dead. "HORSEAPPLES! Look Twi, We're gonna have to go! Don't let us dow-" Applejack's voice cut out, and was soon replaced by static. My initial reaction was to begin packing and planning, but when you're against the King of Chaos, well, planning is futile. Bursting out of the door, venturing into a fight I may not return from, carrying only The Elements of Harmony, which were now grey, void of all colour. "I'm coming for you Discord, be ready to die." One Way JourneyIt's been a couple of hours since I heard Applejack, and I find myself galloping towards the once beautiful town of Canterlot. I won't give up now, things MUST change. Starting with the banishment of Discord and Chrysalis. From life. As I look forwards, I notice that for the first time, sunlight. The one thing that remains of Celestia, her gift to Equestria, the only thing that will give me the will to push on. The dead fields that once were filled with crops brush against my coat, as I continue my journey, my one way journey alone, for when I return, I will have my friends once more! It had been awhile since I'd set off. There was suddenly a sense of doom once more, my pace slowed, and I looked up towards the castle. As glorious as it once was, that place now symbolized certain death, and only ponies with serious sanity issues would ever go there. Then, I realised why it felt like doom, Discord was checking Equestria for any living ponies besides me. I needed to hide, so, I dived into the endless sea of dead field. I would've made a prayer, but, I tried that before, and those prayers were answered years later, right now. After what seemed to me a decent amount of time, I poked my head out of the weeds, and saw Discord flying back to the castle. I broke out into a furious gallop, knowing that it wouldn't take long to get there now. As I reached the borders of Canterlot, my heart stopped. The only thing that stood in my way now was a whole army of Changelings. It wasn't going to be easy, I knew that when I took off to this damned place, but to see my friends again, and to see Discord dead, was to much of an oppurtunity to miss. The only thing that suprised me, was the form that all of them took. A pegasus with a white coat, and blue spectrum mane. It looked somewhat... Familliar. Casting my thoughts aside, I charge through the wall of pony and cause quite a stir amongst them. They all made a dive for me, keeping their formation and intimidation unchanged. Unfortunately, I was knocked out by something hard and metal hitting the back of my head. "So that brings me here Discord, you holding on to my life, considering whether you kill me now, or torture me first." After finishing my story with monster, I tilt my head and grin devilishly. "Now, If you don't mind, may I see my friends one last time?" "Well, That is quite the tale you have there Twilight, and really, quite true. So, yes, while I decide your fate you may see your friends." Discord's voice sent shivers down my spine. It was bad enough over the radio, but in person? Much worse. He sets me down to the ground, after holding me in the air, and pushes me to a strange looking door and opens it. I am shocked at what I see. I walk into the pure white room, and as I do, I noticed the only colour there were the posters and ponies. The posters however, intrigued me. They had a stallion on the front. White coat, blue spectrum mane, a pegasus. His name though, seemed to be blurred. All I could make out was a Fr and orm. Frorm? No, they were two different words. Ponies cowering in fear looked at me and smiled briefly, and pointed towards an area where 5 ponies were chained to the wall on their fronts. This, is where my challenge really began. Final Run"G-Girls?!" I felt tears begin to stream down my face. The friends I once thought were dead, are here. With me. They all turned their heads slightly, as they saw me, they too, began to flood with tears. "TWILIGHT!" Rarity called from her bindings gainst the wall. I start to run towards them all, so I can see them properly, but my hopes were soon dashed. I hit a magical barrier, separating me from my friends. The tears stopped falling, and anger completely engulfed my mind. At that moment, Chrysalis floated gently to the floor, and gave me a stone-cold grin. "Well, Well, Well. Twilight Sparkle, student to my former nemesis. How have you been these past few years? Angry? Sad? Alone?" The shape-shifter chuckled lightly, and stared at me in the eyes. "That's dirty play Chrysalis. Let me see them." "OH! I FORGOT! YOU'RE THE ONE IN CONTROL HERE!" Sarcasm flowed out of her voice, which only irritated me further. "Maybe you can't talk to me anymore, hmmm? Maybe I should take a form more... Appeasing." it was then Chrysalis took the form of her majesty, Princess Celestia, may her soul rest in peace. I felt myself on the brink of full blown rage. "Stop it, Chrysalis." Anger began to fill my body, all thoughts were now just simply getting revenge. "Stop what? This?" she changed her form again, this time to Princess of the Night, Luna, RIP. Instantly my mind began to remember the cries and the screams for each other the two shared in their last moments. I tried to suppress them, but... I cracked. I let rage fuse with my magic, let it build up, then, I released it all in a beam of purple flames, right at the barrier. It shattered completely. Chrysalis' face was soon wiped of her grin. I fired multiple smaller beams at every chain and shackle holding my friends against the wall. I fired one last beam, but it was like a gentle flowing river. The stream of energy split into five parts, each giving energy to my friends. When the stream stopped, we all hugged. Tears flowing down each and everyponies faces. I was no longer alone. "OH HO HO. HOW TOUCHING." Discord slithered into the room, and then next to Chrysalis. "It's ashame you're all about to die!" Wild smirks grew across their faces. It was hard to admit it, but... This was it. Our Final Run into battle. We all looked at the two, we just smiled through our tears. "Yeah. Well at least I won't die alone." "YEAH! Or me!" Dash moved forward, spreading her wings into a attack position. "I ain't dying' alone tonight!" AJ lowered herself, as if read to pounce and buck at the two. The others just simply grunted in agreement. We all knew what was going to happen, but we all thought it was worth a shot, if not? Well, we won't go down without a fight. "Alright Girls Chaaa..." My voice faded and everything around slowed down until I was the only thing moving. "Uh, hello?" my voice echoed around the room. I heard a faint reply, but, was not able to hear it clearly, "Twilight Sparkle, This is not your final hour, Equestria still needs you, the universe still needs you." Who was that?! My thoughts were instantly dismissed as I saw six bright, golden lights float towards my friends, and one floating to my head. The Elements of Harmony. Time began to revert to normal again, and I heard the voice say one last thing before 'he' went. "We will meet soon..." Then, time just went on, my friends looked at their necks, saw the elements, and smirked. Discord and Chrysalis soon had their grins wiped clean of their faces and replaced by ones of fear and terror. "NO. NO! HOW DID HE DO THAT?! HIS CHAMBER IS TIMELOCKED! THERE IS NO WAY HE COULD'VE DONE THAT! CHRYSALIS?! DID YOU DISABLE THE LOCK?" Discord clenched his fists staring the shape-shifter in the eye, "OF COURSE NOT! YOU KNOW AS WELL AS I DO HE CAN'T BE THAT STRONG!" Chrysalis retorts, gritting her teeth. Discord smiles deviously, and pushes a button on a control panel next to him. 'IMPLOSION OF CELL X199 ACTIVATED.' The computerised voice sounded around the room. That was all we needed. All we needed to do this destroy Discord and Chrysalis. "Girls, you ready?" they all nodded eagerly. "All right then." I focused all my magic into the element, feeling its power surge through me. I feel myself lift of the ground, the overwhelming power completely overtaking my mind and body. Before light completely engulfed my eyes, I saw my friends float up next to me and around me. A ball of colours surrounded us, and we fired the ball of rainbow energy right at the two, turning them to stone. But we didn't stop there, we kept going until we had turned them to rubble. Two energy sources came from the two piles of ash and stone, one white, one dark blue. The simply drifted towards me. Then combined with me. The energy of the two lights overwhelmed me. The power of... The sun... The moon... It was them. I felt tears fall down my face. The last remaining power of the day and night had been given to me. Thank you Twilight Sparkle, my faithful student. P-Princess?! Yes. Luna is here also, we may not be physical entities in the real world, but we will remain dormant in your mind. I'm quite impressed with your vast range of knowledge! Y-You can see my thoughts?! "TWILIGHT!!" I was brought back to reality by a very panicked Fluttershy. "This place is collapsing! We need to run!" She was right. The place looked like it was peeling like paint on a wall. I stare at the control panel next to where the two piles of ash and stone lay. I walk up to it and push a button marked 'ABORT.' "IMPLOSION IN CELL X199 ABORTED." Celestia? Did you know who sent us the elements? I have an idea of who it might be, but I'm not sure... King Time. King Time?! Yes. He was our 'father' essentially, but I thought he died in the final battle against Discord when he created the elements. Celestia was silent. "TWILIGHT!!!!!" My friends yelled at me in unison. "WE HAVE TO GET OUT. NOW!!" Applejack bucked a door open and we galloped through a long tunnel. Authors NoteThis isn't the end of their story my friends, the troubles have just begun. Three storms come, when reality falls. Right, you guys keep an eye out for my next fic The Fall of Reality. It is a mix between all of my main fics so, I suggest reading A Change of Pace, and Screwed. They all link in with each other, so keep an eye out!!

"I'm coming for you Discord, be ready to die."
One Way JourneyIt's been a couple of hours since I heard Applejack, and I find myself galloping towards the once beautiful town of Canterlot.
