//-------------------------------------------------------// Quitting for you -by CyroginX1- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 The mare with the canary-yellow coat had indeed awoken, with still sleep deprived eyes revealed upon a few blinks, letting the natural sunlight in her sight, through the windows. The Pegasi flexed her wings around a bit and furrowed her brow weakly. "What is it Angel?” Fluttershy asked her small friend. The bunny suddenly struck a pose like a statue started moving it's arms around like a clock, in an unreal fashion, but nevertheless. “Is there something in the sky” The animal just stopped and slapped it's paw on it's face. It jumped on the Fluttershy's head and turned her head toward the clock tower, right across and above from her grounded Ponyville cottage. ”Oh, is it that time already?” And with that, the bunny's expression went from frustration straight to approval. It nodded excitedly at her, and so did Fluttershy, back at her tiny friend. During a late noon napping session for a particularly drowsy Pegasi, an angry bunny suddenly started stomping it's lucky right foot to the ground, and furiously. Its attempt to rudely wake it's caregiver up from the deep sleep it was in, though, had worked as well as the small critter expected     "I guess it's time to see my marefreind again..." Fluttershy spoke to herself like a soliloquy on a stage, and the white-haired rabbit did indeed hear her as well. "You'll be okay here by yourself again, Angel?"     The yellow pony would spread her wings and head to Cloudsdale as soon as she knew that Angel, her own personal caregiver in a way, would be alright alone with all the other critters she cared for. She knew he was a good leader, as a sort of dominance seemed to stem from actions like before, with waking Fluttershy in whichever way possible. He had to do it too; this is an important day for her.     Angel nodded at her, smiling sweetly and saluting Fluttershy with a stiff paw above his head. Fluttershy knew he could handle looking after the animals, just like every other time. She picked him up, cradled him in her arms for a bit, then set him back down, lightly patting his head with her hoof.     She then bidded adieu to all the other animals before she opened the front door, letting more light caress her skin and further awake her eyes, and took off for Cloudsdale in a heartbeat. Her excitement didn't need to be expressed with words, clearly. Every year, I get to see Rainbowdash again, my marefriend. I've recently gone the longest time in a few months without hearing from her at all. I'm worried sick about her.     Ever since she earned the trust and approval of the wonderbolts, her life has pretty much been dedicated to them. She still loves me, I know that, but we barely ever got some time for the two of us to spend together, with her new job as Wonderbolt instructor and all.     I remember how, sometimes, when she was desperate enough to see me, she acted severely sick to get out of her duties (she's kind of known for it) and come down to visit me at my house. It didn’t always work, regardless of the fact that she would legitimately (I believe her) be sick. It's funny how things work out sometimes.     But, this year Dash said-     "Something special is going to happen." I remember, every other day, the context in which she said that... I took landing on a singular cloud, plush as ever, but I was immediately approached on the training floor by a member of the observational staff. Honestly, I had no idea I would end up right in the middle of a training field, right outside the towering stadium. They move their equipment and obstacles around. I swear, they even moved the rainbow waterfall.     Maybe that was part was just me, though.     “Maam, whats your name, and what is your reason for being here?” the sheer orange Pegasus mare asked, unexpectedly sternly.     “Oh, um, My name is Fluttershy, and I’m here to see Rainbowdash” She responded quietly. "She knows me personally, and-"     ”I`m sorry, but she is very busy right now, but you're free to come back lat-“ The other Pegasi was interrupted mid-sentence a cyan hoof.     “Uh, she`s my girlfriend. She can pass.” Rainbow Dash said. The orange mare took Dash's words as surprisingly as her appearance that seemingly came from nowhere. In the end, she just nodded and hummed, opening the doors to the stadium and allowing them to enter “So Dashie, why did I need to come here?" Fluttershy asked, honestly a little nervous. Even she was  surprised it actually sounded like it did. "I mean, its not that I mind of course, I just have all my animals take care of. You know the whole thing with that. Also, I know Angel can take care of everything, but-”     "FlutterShy!" Rainbow broke the silence that Fluttershy's whispering had contributed kindly to. "I`m quitting. My job. For you," she said formidably as her former training had allowed her to handle being with friends.     Fluttershy was experiencing an episode of harsh disbelief, no matter how much she liked the words coming out of Dash's mouth.     “Fluttershy, I love you and you know it, probably even more than me, with, you know, how much I take time off to see you. But I really don't think I can stand being away from you anymore.” Her eyes was starting to fill with a tiny bit of tears, proven to be authentic with how slow they trailed her cheeks. “I`ve been doing this for seven years...and yet I never felt new fame. That's really the reason I started this in the first place, you know that," she explained. Fluttershy listened intently, ready and much more than willing to comfort her best friend in the world. There weren't many opportunities to be able to do that, even for Fluttershy, and considering their relationship status. "I already had that from Ponyville." Dash continued. "In  Ponyville! and the only thing I get from this is a paycheck every week, and I’m so sick of it. Maybe one of the newbies I'm training can take my place. It'd show how good of a teacher I sure am." Dash was allowing the tear to flow freely now, letting it all out; the sorrow and displacement she had developed over the years, and the ironic hatred and saddens from her dream job. “I had enough money to retire THREE years ago, but Spitfire wouldn't let me go. I even got permission from princess Celestia herself, saying I could leave. Now I just wanna be done with this and be with you...” The mare of many colors was gone now, but only with her tears. They ceased once she stopped talking, in which a sniffling silence took it's place. Fluttershy knew this kind of language the best of all. She hugged her tightly, and that was enough for Dash to confess even further, but with only two words.     "Thank you..." She didn't say that word enough either, but it felt incredible every time she did. Rainbow Dash was a purely confident mare, never open to the concept of assistance, from anyone, truly. But this instance was completely different.     She needed Fluttershy in her life, and Fluttershy needed Dash. One needed the right look on life, and the other needed compassion. The two Pegasi sat there on the plush clouds in the stadium in silence, mostly. The moment of truth and confession had passed, and led into an aftermath full of emotion, even while nothing was happening between their embraces, intertwined.
