"Today is a might fine day for this picnic of yers, Twi!" Exclaimed AppleJack as she bit into one of the daisy sandwiches that had come from the small basket that sat in the middle of the checkered blanket.
"Yeah! At first I thought you'd stay in your treehouse all day with Spike all day like you always do but then when you said that we should have a picnic I was all GAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSP Because your usually always packed in your library with all those books and hardly ever come out even though your busy and all and need to sell books you still dont come out and now that Dashie's been reading all those Daring Do books she's been inside with you too!" Pinkie Pie said in her usual excited manner as she continued to grin wildly. Twilight listened carefully, not missing a beat.
"I thought it was, too. You're right Pinkie, I have been staying inside more lately, and so I thought we should just have a little get together since we've rarely--"
"TWILIGHT!!!"
All heads turned to see Twilight's young dragon assistant, Spike. "I... Letter..... It's..." With a belch and a small eruption of green fire, a scroll appeared before the six ponies and Spike.
Twilight unraveled the letter and cleared her throught.
"Dear Twilight Sparkle + Others," This brought a bewildered look upon the lavender unicorn's face. "This doesn't sound anything like Princess Celestia's letters." The others nodded in agreement before Twilight continued.
"Princess Luna cordially invited you to the Royal LAN Party hosted in Canterlot. Princess Luna, who will be participating in the contest against Ponyville's own Sparkler, wishes that you all come and for her friends to be by her side as she plays in the tournament. She also requests that you, the Elements of Harmony, keep the whole thing in order. She also wishes that Pinkie Pie is to host the after party in celebration, and to make the baked goods alongside Applejack.
Sincerely,
Princess Luna."
There was a silence, but it only lasted for a moment or two, before Rainbow Dash spoke up excitedly. "The... LAN Party?!"
"The Royal LAN Party, Darling," Rarity corrected.
Rainbow gave her a dismissing hoof wave before she continued, "The LAN Party is like. The biggest tournament EVER!!! It'll be SO AWESOME now that Luna will be in it!!! Luna's the best gamer there's ever been!!!!" She said, ending her sentence with an excited flip in the air.
The rest just stared blankly at the rainbow-maned pegasus. After a few moments, Twilight said, "So, are we planning to go?" In response, eager nods. The ponies hadn't seen Princess Luna since the Royal Wedding, and they'd become rather fond of her. Twilight nodded. "It's settled then. Spike, take a letter!" At this, the small dragon pulled out a quill and scroll from seemingly nowhere.
"Dear Princess Luna," Twilight began. "We will be honored to attend the Royal LAN Party and witness you play against Sparkler. Pinkie Pie and Applejack will also be delighted to bring the baked goods for the ponies. We will come as soon as we can, most likely as soon as the next train to Canterlot arrives this evening. Sincerely, Twilight Sparkle."
After a bit more writing with the quill, Spike rolled up the scroll and let out a small amount of his normal green smoke, causing the small scroll to disappear.
For the rest of the picnic, all the excited friends spoke of was the event coming up.
