Warning: this chapter is graphic, and while it contains crucial story, you could always skip it if you had to. Enjoy otherwise.

Trixie rushed through towering halls and several corridors, her hooves rapidly clicking on the hardwood floor. She was told to meet with Luna as soon as possible, and that meant she had to hurry.

Not fifteen minutes ago, Dash was fixing the unicorn up and making her look presentable, smiling as she kissed the mare's nose and wished her good luck with the princess. She had taken a beacon she was given and slammed it down, creating a whirling spiral of magic that whisked Trixie to Canterlot. It was her first time taking a beacon teleportation device, and as the immense suction caught her off guard, the blunt trauma of head-butting the castle's exterior wall brought her back quite abruptly. She looked back and cringed as she saw the hoof drags along the grass leading to her, shaking her head a few more times and fixing her hair before sprinting off towards the princess' bedroom.

As she arrived, Trixie calmed herself, slowly opening the door and peaking inside. She had expected to meet Luna and calmly discuss better ways of dealing with emotion. What she got surprised her to say the least. The floor's wooden paneling rapidly began chipping away, chunks of boards flinging into what seemed like endless darkness as Trixie was roughly sucked in. She couldn't even scream as she tumbled and turned in a weightless free fall, almost as if her lungs weren't working with her.

After a minute of this, she roughly landed on a stone floor, her head spinning more than anything she had ever felt before. Her breath was short and stuttered, and her blood had run cold as she lifted her head. She was given no time to realize what had happened as she was magically lifted and slammed against a wall. The surface was pitch black, but felt like the walls of the castle as Trixie was pressed against it.

"P...please...what do you want? I...I just wanted to speak to Princess Luna." Trixie wasn't crying, but fear was the predominant tone in her voice, lightly peppered with curiosity. A loud, deep female tone filled the room as the form laughed. Trixie kept struggling, but soon went limp as she knew it was all for nothing. The form slowly released her grasp on the unicorn, slowly backing up and looming over Trixie, obviously taller than the mare."Who...who are you?"

The room was filled with a dim, violet light as soon as she was done asking, revealing the creatures true form. A black alicorn with light blue armor stood tall, almost twice Trixie's size."It is I...NIGHTMARE MOON!" The alicorn yelled, shaking the ground.

"I...I don't understand...you were...Celestia destroyed you?" Trixie was confused. Every report on Luna confirmed that the demon known as Nightmare Moon was gone, destroyed by the Elements of harmony and locked away with Celestia's kindness towards Luna.

The alicorn roughly slammed Trixie back to the wall, and before she could react, Nightmare's sharp horn pierced the unicorn's shoulder and came out of her back as the demon slowly pulled Trixie onto the horn. Trixie screamed lightly, but was in such a state of shock that she simply stayed rigid, being lifted up on the horn going through under her left shoulder blade. Nightmare grinned as she dropped the mare to the ground, backing up once more and laughing deeply."Well...you know about me...but I know much more about you...Trixie Luna-exorcista." The demon slowly lifted the mare's head with her magic, looking into Trixie's eyes as she lowers her horn and slashed a deep, wide cut diagonally across the unicorn's face. Again Trixie flinched, but this time the pain was full and she let out a loud scream as she lowered her head, a hoof touched to her face, dripping with blood as she withdrew it to her sight. She was breathing shallowly as she sat still, shrunken away from the towering alicorn as her breathing was generously gaped with whimpers and whines.

Nightmare wasn't phased as she looked back at Trixie and kept speaking."Your parents were great...you know. Both powerful unicorns, but your mother...she was special. Do you know how your family was given the surname Luna-exorcista? It is because your family line runs red with the blood of my people. Luna's family that your's hunted. We were too powerful you see...so we were to be exterminated. It lasted much longer than any book would care to mention, and we didn't stand a chance. A sad fate indeed, but we didn't deserve your family's... fascination with our magic. Your great grandparents began learning the art of manipulating the moon, tweaking it to cause us alicorns that were in charge of the night to be blamed for many natural disasters. Luna's parents...OUR patents were murdered, charged with conspiracy to sabotage Equestria, framed by your family. Your mother...she was the last of your line to hunt my kind...and came very close to doing away with my...erm...Luna's entire heritage."

The alicorn was interrupted with a lighter, sweeter voice cutting in and taking over Nightmare momentarily."Nightmare, that's enough, I told you to inform her, not hurt her."

"I DID WHAT YOU WANTED, LET ME HANDLE IT!"

"No, you're not harming that unicorn any longer, she's done nothing wrong."

"Nothing? NOTHING? Her mother tried to kill you less than a decade ago, Luna. Do you honestly think that that bitch's blood doesn't run deep?" She galloped over to Trixie, lifting her up with magic and glaring at her. The unicorn was crying heavily, and made as much of an effort to get away as she could, the blood from the cut on her face dripping onto the floor. She could only look at Nightmare's skinny, cat-like irises.

"Your mother was a very powerful mage, Trixie, and after the extinction of the alicorns ended hundreds of years ago, quite a while after Celestia began her rule, your mother vowed to continue the pact...the promise that she would hunt down every last alicorn and wipe them out. She knew Celestia was too powerful to touch, but Luna wasn't. Your mother performed a powerful summoning curse to bring Luna back from the moon, something nopony has ever done before. She tied Luna down and chanted..."

Trixie yelped in disbelief,"N...No, that's not right..."

"YOU WERE THERE YOU BUCKING FILLYFOOLER!" She slapped Trixie hard, staring at her with pure anger in her eyes."You watched as your mother chanted...do you remember the words before she tried to kill your mentor...your friend? DO YOU!?"

"P...please" Trixie sputtered through the blood collecting in her mouth from the cut.

" 'A proud Luna-exorcista offers a demon to give, take this one's soul and let no others live.' After ramming the knife into Luna's chest, Celestia broke into your home and rammed her horn through your mother's eye, killing her. You were too young...yet you knew exactly what was happening. After fixing and healing Luna's wounds, it was clear that I was still present in her soul, and Celestia was forced to send Luna back to the moon. So, do you see what you are capable of? You don't cherish that cape your mother wore because you loved her. You do it because your family line demands you keep it, subliminally controlling your mind. Your subconscious is filled with hate, and jealously, and murder...you don't deserve life...and I won't let you keep it."

With those words, Trixie gasped weakly, tears welling in her eyes now flowing as she felt a tearing in her chest, the demon using her magic to rip the unicorn's lungs to shreds. Trixie dropped to the floor as Nightmare stopped levitating her, the mare clawing desperatly at her chest as her vision tunneled slowly, no air able to enter her lungs. She shivered and began coughing up blood, shaking on all fours as she collapsed, everything going dark as she heard the demon speak once more.

"Only you know what to do. Only you can find the key. Forgiveness is the doorway between the past and the future."

Trixie bolted up from her bed, screaming as she gasped for air. Dash was next to her, holding her hoof and calming her down."Trixie, are you alright? Princess Luna came by a few minutes ago and said you fell asleep after you two talked...you were gone for at least an hour."

Trixie's eyes began welling with tears as put her hoof to her face, feeling no blood or slice. She looked at Dash and began sobbing into the Pegasus' shoulder, holding her tight and crying without care.

(yes...the violence was necisarry, and I needed something other than sexual tension all the time...variety is the spice of life, my friend)
