A magic Hearth's Warming

A chill went through Twilight’s spine as she was decorating the castle for Hearth's Warming.

All of the mane six Were  in agreement that they would use the newly planted castle as the place to celebrate this year.

However celebrating Hearth's Warming was only secondary to Twilight, she had an ulterior motive for this festive time of year.

For about three months now Twilight has had her eye on one mare, a mare that so happen to be one of her best friends, Fluttershy.

Twilight first noticed her crush just about a week after Fluttershy saved her from a life of imprisonment in a stone.

She at first thought it was a simple crush that would go away after two months or so, but alas this was not the case.

As time went on whenever Fluttershy was close by she started stammering over her words, it was not always and when she did stammer she hid it well. And she would also start losing focus on what she was doing, again whenever that happened she did try to hide it.

It was just a few days ago Twilight decided to confess her feelings for the shy pegasus, she only needed a perfect time and place to do so, and so the countless hours of planning got its start.

She eventually came to the conclusion that giving Fluttershy the perfect present, or a rather good one ... when the presents have all been opened she would take Fluttershy into the other room for a small talk, and that would be it, confusing right then and there and hope for the best.

The day had come and everyone was at the common room in the castle each with six presents at their side.

First up was Spike who's presents was mostly gem orientated, a Ocean sapphire to Rarity, Alconite to Twilight. A small diamond shaped bunny to Fluttershy. To Rainbow dash he gave a lightning bolt shaped ruby. To Applejack he gave an emerald as big as an apple. To Pinkie however he gave a book called “Gems, Sweets and You”.

Then it was Pinkie's turn who had her presents in a chest. opening it and turning it around the 6 friends saw candy rock necklaces with green and red colored rocks.

Rarity was up and her presents was both predictable and surprising.

To her little Spikey-wikey she gave a tux decked out with gems. A  Wonderbolt Suit with rainbow lining to Rainbow Dash. To Applejack she gave a coat that can withstand any element that Mother Nature might throw her way. However to the other three she did not give a single piece of clothing but instead she gave books. To Twilight she gave a book called “A princess manners”. And to the party pony Pinkie she gave a recipe book called “The sweets of canterlot”. And to her dear friend Fluttershy she gave a book by the name of “A princess and her mare” as to which Fluttershy blushed a little at.

Applejack’s presents were both simple yet complex.

To Spike she gave what looked like a regular apple, but after taking a closer look at it it was actually a gem that not only looked like an apple but tasted like one to.

To Twilight a hoof crafted candle holder with space to also hold a book.

To Fluttershy she gave not only a knitted scarf for her but for Angel as well which Fluttershy was very happy about.

Then came Rarity to which she had her simplest gift, it was the straw hat Rarity had during the Trenderhoof situation. Only with a small change and that was there was gems decorating the sides of it.

To Pinkie she gave a copy of the first Apple family recipe book.

Then it was Rainbow Dash's turn, and that must have been the most shocking of all after opening Applejack's gift Rainbow just stared at it with her mouth wide open. It was a zap-apple in the shape of a heart. after putting the apple back in the box rainbow gave Applejack a hug and proceeded to kiss Applejack on the cheek.

“We got something to say” Applejack started out.

Rainbow then turned to the rest of the group whose mouths were agape .

“Me and Applejack have been dating for about three months now”

With everyone congratulating and wishing their relationship a good luck, they then  continued with the gift giving.

Now it was Rainbow’s turn and to Spike she had a pair of glasses with a mustache attached to them.

To Twilight was a book, but not just any book but Starswirl the bearded autobiography, what made it even more special was that it was signed by Starswirl.

To Fluttershy she had a very simple gift but the gift meant a lot to both of em. It was a picture of them as fillies back in Cloudsdale to which Fluttershy could not stop smiling at.

To Rarity she had a mirror made from Saddle Arabia.

To Pinkie was a book of titled “Prank your friends with your friends”

Now to her marefriend Applejack she had something special, a small figurine of a special Cloudsdale material it depicted them laying under an apple tree, a kiss was shared between then and now it was Twilight's turn.

First to receive one of Twilight’s gifts was Applejack to her she gave a hat identical to the one Applejack always wore but it had an enchantment on it which increased Applejack’s strength.

To Rainbow Dash she had a enchanted headband that when worn would increase Rainbow’s speed.

To Pinkie she had saddles bags made with an enchantment that made it hold anything not matter how big it was, she called it the space-saddlebags.

To her number one assistant Spike she had a book called “the growing dragon”

To Rarity she had an infinite spool thread.

Now came Fluttershy and now Twilight became a little nervous as Fluttershy was opening her present Twilight’s heart was pounding like a jackhammer.

The gift was a teddy bear with Twilight's cutie mark on it’s stomach.

Fluttershy simply gave her a hug and said thank you and started giving her presents to everyone.

Twilight felt a slight feeling of failure but the evening was not yet over.

Finally it was Fluttershy’s turn to give her presents out.

To Spike she had a scarf made from actual dragon scales.

To Rainbow Dash and the rest of them for that matter, was hoof knitted scarves with their cutie marks on them.

When Twilight opened hers she expected the same but there was no scarf for her in the box.

What was in the box instead was the same teddy bear just with Fluttershy’s cutie mark instead, not only that but also a rose with a piece of paper attached to it. Taking the items out Fluttershy stood up and walked over to Twilight.

Opening the piece of paper was a simple sentence.

“I love you Twilight, will you go out on a date with me?”

Twilight looked up at Fluttershy to find her inches away from her.

All Twilight did was say one word.

“Yes”
