Five Night's at Amsel's Pizzeria
The Interview
Load Full StoryCpl. Jacob Sweeney was sitting in an uncomfortable chair as he filled out his application for this new part-time job that had recently been put in the paper of "Ponyville Weekly". Which seems to be a popular news paper, Jacob see's at least fifty ponies in town with one every day. Which is why he seemed to be so surprised no other pony has taken up this simple job. He was to work for 5 nights and have the option to work extra when the first five have ended. The job would be payed with minimum wage and only a few more bits for extra nights. As he read further through the forum he saw that this job was getting pretty sketchy. Some of the application had spots to sign that if he was harmed in any way on the job that the company was not responsible. In the fine print right underneath it reading "This will also go with if the employe is killed while working or on the property." This showed him why no other pony chose this job.
Jacob was shocked at why a filly's pizzeria would need to have that written at all ever, let alone in the fine print. The rest of it just explained how he's payed, what he's doing, and some questions about his background. "Better leave out the whole killing part of my past, don't want to spook him out of giving me the job. That should be it after I sign these sketchy, fine print, parts." Jacob signed the papers not knowing how screwed he is. As he got up from the chair he looked around him, "How could this place be any danger?" Jacob was outside the office while writing out the application and only had to turn slightly to see the door of the office while getting a glance of the room, a run down party decor type design. Jacob got up and walked over to the door. As he got closer he heard a hyper active womanly voice arguing to a deepened slightly raspy manly voice.
"So can I?! Can I?! CanIcanIcanIcanIcanIpleeeeeease?!" said the hyper voice. Jacob heard a sigh or groan, the voice was to raspy to tell.
"Fine! You can help during the day with the filly's and the other ponies along side the mo- I mean animatronics. Under one condition, that you must not touch or tamper with them." The man had sounded nervous and serious.
"I Pinkie promise Amsel!" Then the lady had walked out the door with a smile that should go into the Equestrian records. The pony it was, happened to be Pinkie Pie, standing slightly shorter then Jacob. She had her hair slightly more poofy with the smell of cotton candy flowing from it. Pinkie was wearing a bright yellow shirt with "Party!!" written in dark pink bold letters while having a pair of dark pink yoga pants.
"Hiya Jacob! Whatcha doing here?" Jacob smiled at her energy.
"Well if you must know, I'm applying for a job here as the new night watch since the last Stallion had died while on job. I heard that he was murder slowly by being pushed into an old empty suit." Jacob goes off into thought about how that might feel, besides extreme amounts of pain.
"I don't know about that...but good luck with the interview! Hope you get the job and so does Gummy!" She then just poofed out of existence with a wave. I've only seen this a few times and it still is weird after the first few couple of times.
After a few seconds the raspy voice spoke up "You can come in, I won't bite." The raspy voice laughs slightly under his breath. "I swear did he just snicker at that.." Jacob walks into his office with a dead look on his face showing no emotion. "This may be the first time I've thanked a Drill Sargent for making me cut emotions out." The man with the raspy voice looked like he had been mauled by a bear on steroids. He had a scar going right across his neck with some smaller scars on his shoulders/collar bone. One of his eye sockets had a scar going through it with a clearly fake glass eye that was an eight ball. "Not the weirdest thing I've seen on a face, but definitely the top five."
"Good day Mr. Amsel." Jacob says sticking out his hand to shake Amsel's. He stands up and shakes Jacob's hand.
"Good day to you too, Mr.?"
"Sweeney."
"Well Mr. Sweeney, take a seat." He says pointing to a chair in front of his desk. Jacob sits down in a chair that looks like it came out of an alleyway in the 90's. Once comfortable you pass Amsel the application forum. He looks at it for a few minutes then puts it on his desk.
"Why do you want to work here?" Thinking of a lie Jacob says.
"I feel that this place will open up my horizons for future careers."
"Cut the bullshit son, you just need a job and no pony else will take you I'm guessing?"
"Yes sir." He says reluctantly.
"Figured, well you seem to be the right type for the job so, welcome to the team." He says reaching out to shake his hand.
"Thank you sir, I hope to keep this place safe from any hooligans or robbers." Jacob says while shaking Amsel's hand.
"You won't be protecting what's inside the place, but you'll be protecting what's outside..." He says in a whisper.
"What was that Mr. Amsel?"
"Oh nothing, You start tonight at 12 A.M, I'd be here on time if I were you" He says warningly.
"Why sir?" Jacob asks slightly confused.
"I Just recommend it Mr. Sweeney, now I need to do the paper work for having you work here so if you could." He said Implying Jacob to leave. As he leaves Jacob thinks about the night ahead "I wonder if this job is going to be worth minimum wage."
