Chapter 1

Princess Celestia was for the most part, despite her calm demeanor, was excited. She hasn’t been this ecstatic since, well, her dear sister Princess Luna returned from the moon and had been reformed. Not to say that her student, Twilight Sparkle’s friendship reports were not significant. They had just become a routine of sorts and therefore expectable. Today though, something unexpected had happened, nothing would have prepared her for this.

Recently there had been an archeological discovery in the White Tail Woods of a civilization that had previously, been unknown to us. The weapons and armours that were discovered there had to have been well over 15,000 years old! Well before the three pony tribes, herself, and perhaps Discord himself!

Their Culture appeared to be militaristic based in terms of lifestyle, such as the ancient Minotaurs and Griffons. But the reason why they were so warrior based was because of their carnivorous nature. What had intrigued her and the scientists however was that they were ponies; not carnivorous.

They also were no pegasi, nor unicorn remains found, just abnormally sized earth ponies. Yet there were depictions in art and statues of alicorns, perhaps religion had sparked these creations of theirs.

A sudden knock on the door pulled the princess from her thoughts. With a sigh she opened the door with a dim, golden glow around her horn to let the guest in. What revealed behind the door was a dark blue mare with a starry mane and a moon on her ass… erm flank. She also happened to be Princess Celestia’s sister, Princess Luna.

“Sister, our presence has been requested to observe the relics that were found at the dig site in The White Tail Woods!” Stated the Lunar Princess whom was unable to contain her excitement and bounced up and down like a school filly who was asked out by her crush.

Princess Celestia just shook her head with a smile, her sister was always excitable when something new was discovered. This had reminded the Solar Princess of her student when she found out something new.

“I will be right there Luna, just give me a second to put my writing utensils away.” Replied Celestia calmly, but rather quickly.

Luna just nodded her head enthusiastically and bounced away down the hall in a very Pinkie Pie like way. Turning her head to her Mahogany desk (Mmm Mahogany), Celestia’s horn glowed and the cap on the ink well had been screwed back on(This made sure the ink did not dry out) and was placed in an open desk drawer that was then closed. Celestia then turned and walked out of the Mahogany set of doors that led into the hallway.

The Solar Princess briefly considered taking a chariot down to the site, but had decided that it would be too slow. White Tail Woods was also at the base of the Canterlot Mountain, so she could just teleport. Making up her mind Princess Celestia’s horn shone brightly and with a flash she was gone.

As soon as she had appeared the scientist ponies had shown her all of the exhibits, from old weapons and armour, to what they assumed what their culture was like. There was even some writings from the time, but were written in a language none could understand. One book that had caught her interest was what appeared from the writing, a book marked with faded silver letters that said, ‘Ο σκοπός όλων οδηγός σεξ’. Celestia didn’t know what it meant or said, but to her it was obviously important to these people.
“Now here is the most impressive piece in the display!” spoke the guide pony rather proudly.

Before the Princess was a statue, but it was complete! Not a scratch, nick, or a spot of dirt was on it. The most obvious thing was that it was an Alicorn that had a longing look in it’s eye, that gazed far pass any of the ponies. The detail was extraordinary! There was even a fur coat to it, when The Princess had touched it the surface was rough like tiny needles on it, much like what a pony would feel like if it came into contact with a cockitrice. The height of the pony was bigger than Luna, but smaller than Celestia.

Walking around to the back of the statute, it became apparent that the artist wanted to be as detailed as possible when a red tint came to her face.

Wondering why their Princess was blushing, one of the stallions in the group of ponies ponies came around to look at the extra features, but was seemingly unfazed when he pointed and said, “We did not understand what those extra organs were, but they seem to be similar to what you and your sister have.”

Coming out of the shock of seeing the genitalia, Princess Celestia had quickly regained herself. You see, Alicorns are an old, old, old race of ponies. Since none were born very often (and by often I mean thousands of years) they did not have the chance to evolve like the other ponies do. Ponies now have lost these ‘parts’ and bred using love magic since it had become more popular than going through the entire pregnant process.

Now that the gender of this statute had been identified she had gone back to inspecting the less embarrassing features of it. Like it’s horn, and wings. Each feather on the wings were made to look like real ones, but stone.

So many questions went through Princess Celestia’s head. Such as how was the statute so detailed when there were no unicorns in this culture. Or what was the importance of this figure, was it a mythical founder or god?

Celestia then remembered something, she did not have a look at the cutie mark! Maybe it’s importance lied within it! Turning her head back to the statue, Celestia had attempted to look for the mark, but was confused. The statute of the mare did not have one. Looking closer Celestia had taken a brush from a nearby table in her magical aura and lightly brushed where the cutie mark should be.

But as soon as her aura had come in touch the statute, it had started to glow a blue colour! Stumbling back, Princess Celestia gazed at the statute before it had started to crack and shatter. Like a shell the stone fell off of the statute to reveal a mare that had slumped and fell onto the floor.

Other ponies looked away from their work to see what had happen. All that Celestia could say was “What in Equestria is going on?!?!?!?”
