Soul until Dusk

Soul's P.O.V

The heavy screams of innocent lives echoed throughout the underworld, as a soul entered into the deep abyss of the Acheron river. My eyes faltered due to the brightness of the light that covered half of the chamber. I saw Charon having a deftly stroll around the river, his boat making contact above the water and his thin paddle running itself across. I was always surprised how he would be able to manage floating across without falling in. Of course i would ask him, but he would always respond with a silent huff. That pony was one of the most wisest ponies I've ever met in my life.

My body began to shake as the sharp walls began to open, meaning that my guardian returned home. I stretched my wings, making me look like i was tired out.

Hades made a light chuckle as he walked at the rocky platform. "are you already tired out after a simple job?"

I huffed, "carrying dead souls isn't easy y'know."

He chuckled again. "so you need help? you know you can always ask me,"

I looked down, embarrassed by his statement. "i don't need help from a stallion! i'm fine on my own anyway."

"suit yourself." he said as he entered the dark abyss of his flaming fortress.

I huffed once again, driving the burning hesitation away from my cheeks and setting of to the crack that leaves to the overworld. stupid god thinks that i'm useless... like everypony else does, i thought in my head. The heat of Celestia's sun covered my entire body as i dove down into the green fields of Equestria. Setting my hooves to my destination, i looked at the distance. ponyville..., i thought.

The town that now belongs to Twilight sparkle due to her new kingdom sprouting up from the ground. the ground! I never really appreciated the new castle to be made by crystals, seeming to be a replica to the crystal empire. I stopped as a shadow flew past me, blowing a gust of wind through my mane.

"hello?" i shouted. This very scene always takes place when you're about to be ambushed, but it was different.
