Chapters "Celestia" Luna pushed the White Alicorn
"Celestia!" She repeated
"What is it?" Celestia woke
"It's time to raise the sun! We've never had to wake you before, are you absolutely sure thou are okay?" Luna asked
"Yes. Just I've been having some trouble sleeping. It's fine I assure you." Celestia yawned walking to her balcony
"Okay. We have asked the royal chef to prepare your breakfast. So be down shortly."
"Thank you." Celestia raised the sun. The sun had a red hue to it as well, but Celestia didn't notice
"Ah Celestia. There you are. I've prepared some oatmeal for you." The chef lifted a lid revealing a large bowl of oatmeal
"Thank you. It looks lovely. Oh and it smells just heavenly." She sat on the dining chair
"Thank you as well Celestia. Is that all?"
"Yes this is good."
"Right then. Call me if you need anything." He bowed his head and left the dining hall
"What was it that I keep seeing? I wake up in the morning I don't remember anything" She swallowed a spoonful of oatmeal
"And the moon. I can't remember what was wrong with it."
"Ah good morning sister." Luna said cheerfully
"Good morning Luna" Celestia faked a smile
"What did the chef make you today?" Luna asked
"Some oatmeal. It's great. Like always."
"It smells like it"
"Your non formal English is getting better" She commented
"Thank you. We have been working every night since our return" Luna smiled
Celestia sighed causing Luna's cheery demeanor to fade
"What's wrong?" Luna tried to get an answer again
"Well. I've just been having these nightmares for a while and they wake me up every night. Though when I try to remember them they just fade away like they never happened." She explained finishing the oatmeal
"How long have you been having these nightmares?"
"Well it's been three weeks now. If I remember correctly."
"Do they happen every night?"
"Well for the first week it was just once but now they happen almost every time I close my eyes."
"Is anything else wrong?"
"Well. When I try rasing the sun it feels like something is wrong. And the feeling keeps getting stronger each day."
"That's odd. I shall check the library for a spell that will allow me to view your dreams. So maybe I can get an explanation." She started to walk to the door
"Let me go with you"
"Okay" She smilled
Luna awoke stumbling to the wall. Celestia awake in her bed.
"Did you see it?" Luna asked grasping for air
"Y...Yes. I did" Celestia said
"That was" Celestia cut her off
"Don't talk about it. We need a solution. Now." She stepped down from the bed looking at the moon
"What are you doing?"
"Last night. When I awoke. I saw the Moon, but it was red. Did you not notice it?"
"No. No I didn't."
"Look again." Celestia pointed to the telescope
"How could We have not noticed this before?" Luna said looking through the telescope
"What ever is going on is beyond my ability to control." Celestia paced the floor
"But. It's your sun. YOUR SUN! You've never had problems before!" Luna turned to Celestia
"No. And I don't know a solution, if this IS real."
"Celestia. I'm sure you of all ponies will figure it out." Luna placed a hoof on Celestia
"Then there is no time to lose." Celestia walked out the door heading towards the royal library.
"This is the last book about the sun." Luna levitated the book down from a shelf
"Nothing here says anything about it! How long have we been here?" Celestia rubbed her tired eyes
"About 6 hours." Luna looked out the window
"We are wasting time here! We need to get answers now!" She slammed her hoof on the table
"Celestia. I'm sure you will have answers soon." Luna put her hoof on Celestia
"Luna. Every hour. Every minute I feel the sun becoming something I've never felt before. I feel like my power is fading, something inside the sun is wrong and I can't do a thing to stop it!"
"I..."
"I can't think straight! I don't know what to do!" Celestia started to cry
"Celestia. I may have an Idea. We must go to the moon. Maybe we can see the sun more clearly" Luna concentrated a spell in her horn
"Let us go" The spell enveloped both alicorns flooding the room with light.
Light bathed the area as the two Alicorn sisters appeared on the surface of the moon
"We are here!" Luna exclaimed looking around
"It's so cold here and it's so hard to breathe! How did you manage to survive out here for so long?" She shivered
"You get used to it after a while"
"Let's hurry up my head is starting to hurt" she rubbed her head
Yes sister. Remember when I was on the moon?"
"yes I do. And i'm sorry for that"
"It is alright sister. Anyway I built a telescope so that I may plot my revenge, how well that worked out..." Luna brought out a large telescope from a crater.
"Whata re you getting at?"
"Well I thought I could upgrade it. Make it so that we can see into the sun!"
"Luna! You're a genius!" Celestia hugged her sister as a letter appeared in front of her
"Whats that?"
"It's a letter. From Twilight" She said opening the letter
Dear princess celestia:
There have been strange occurances lately regaurding your sun. As you may already know, there has been red hue to it as well as the moon at night.This has concerned me as it has caused some weather problems such as a drop in tempurature. Please respond if you wish for me to study study further into this subject,
your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle
"Do you know how long this will take?" Celestia's voice sounded more heavy
"Umm. An hours work. Maybe..." Luna lifted parts attaching them to the telescope with her magic
"Okay. In the meantime I'll be writting back to Twilight" She teleported a quil some ink and parchment to get started with the letter
Dear my faithfull student Twilight Sparkle:
Yes I am aware of the sun as well as the weather problems, though you needn't worry, Princess Luna and I are working on the problem. Go out with your friends! Relax Twilight, stay away from your studies once in a while, it's good for you.
Princess Celestia
You guys have been good you get another chapter.
"Celestia!" Luna called out to her sister
"Yes?" Celestia woke up as she finally was able to get some sleep
"Sorry to wake you but I've finished the Telescope. But as you fell asleep the Sun has grow even more and has become even more red" She pointed to the sun as it was becoming more noticable
"Oh my"
"Did you have more of those dreams sister?"
"Not exactly. It seemed as though it was farther before. Though I do not know when." She walked over to the completed telescope
"That sounds odd. Anyway, as you can see I've added a filter over the lense. allowing us to see deep within the sun as well as protect our vision when doing so."
"Wow Luna I never knew that you were so smart!"
"I had been reading books ever since I came back to Equestria, and I found some books about making telescopes and part of this was in them."
"That's amazing!" She still sounded tired
"Now Let us see what is wrong" She pointed the telescope to the sun
"There seems to be a core though it doesn't seem right. Like its trying topush away from it, but something is keeping it from doing that."
"I felt something deep within the Sun it feels like it's keeps getting hotter on the inside only."
"That must be what it is.." Luna was cut off by a sudden scream from Celestia "Celestia! What's wrong!?!" Luna held onto her as she lost consciousness
Luna looked up and saw a planet sized ball of light flying towards the Earth
"Luna... we must... go back to earth" Celestia mumbled
"Yes sister" Luna created a ball of light around both of them that teleported both sisters back to Canterlot.
Now its heating up! I see about 3 more chapters left for this story! First serious thing I've done.
A blue ball appeared from Luna´s horn splitting into several different pieces flying to all the cities and towns. Once there it split again to cover all the areas.
”Everypony. This is your Princess Luna speaking! You must head my warnings! There is a great disaster apon us! You must take shelter inside any mines nearby!"
The lights faded from the skies.
Luna watched the panicked ponies franticly running through Canterlot.
"Everypony please! Calm yourselves! You must hurry to the Canterlot mines and don´t leave untill either Celestia or I say so!" she used the royal Canterlot voice.
The panicked civilians calmed down and made thier way to the Canterlot mines as another wave of lights covered the sky much greater than before causing them to panic again.
Celestia stopped high above Canterlot and started a spell that grew over Equestria.
"That should protect us for a while. Hopefully..." She said to herself as light washed over the sky again making a loud thundering noise above.
She rubbed her head
"Sister!" Luna appeared next to her sister
"Oh." Celstia said startled " I didn't hear you. What is it?"
"Sorry. I've cleared out the cities. It looks like they are safe, I hope."
"Good."
"What now sister?" They started back down to Canterlot
"We should wait in the Castle for anything else. We will have any remaining guards report to us on any changes in weather and celestial patterns." Take the southern half of the Castle and I will take the north." They landed on a tower
"Right. Keep Telepathic communications if possible." Luna started off down a hallway
Kay sorry 'bout the wait guis but it b finally hear!
"Do you know what's going on?" The guard with a dark red mane asked
"Celestia said that the Sun was acting up or something. You think she is going to die?" The second guard with an orange mane said
"I sure hope not. I am really scared" He looked forward to the sun now growing into a dark red color
"Hey I'm sure it's nothing. This is Celestia we are talking about. She's controlled the thing for over a thousand years she's got this handled" the orange maned guard responded as the ground shook and light bathed the skies once more
Celestia was meditating in her room when Luna walked in
"Sorry to bother you sister but I came to tell you no one has seen anything. It has been more than a day since you came up here and I thought you might want something to eat" She pulled a cart with a plate of vegetables into the room "I would have asked the Chef to make you something but he asked if he could leave with his family."
"Don't worry about it. This is fine." she stumbled to the cart."
"Are you all right sister?"
"Oh." She realized how she was walking " I am fine. Just tired is all" she lied
"Please tell me if you need anything. I'll be down checking on the guards"
Celestia ate the entire plate quickly thinking to herself.
What am I going to do? I can't gain control of the Sun anymore. It feels like somepony is taking control of it though there isn't another pony alive that can handle the destructive force of the sun like I can. Unless... Him
OHHHHH SNAP PLAYA! Can you guess who it is? I really want to keep this going without making it drag on though!
Celestia rushed to the prison underneath the castle where the strongest magical barrier in existence was held
"You. You're still here. I hate to do this" Her horn started glowing bright as the magic hum slowly silenced
The statue holding the evil God cracked and he was free once more gasping for breath
"You!" He quickly jumped up reaching for Celestia's neck
"Stand down." She generated a magic force field around her knocking Discord back to the floor "I come to ask for your help. I return I grant you your freedom." She motioned for him to follow her
Discord slowly stood up and joined her"You asking for help? My my Celestia, you must be losing your grip."
"Yes. I hate to say it, and I hate asking you of all things to help even more. But you are the only one that can handle such magic"
"The only one to handle such magic? Wait, you don't mean..." Discord looked at her with disbelief
They stood in the great hallway
"Yes" She looked down.
"What is wrong with the sun"
"That" She pointed to the sky to see a bright red ball in place of the normally orange yellow sun
"Discord!" Shining armor shouted as two more guards joined his side "I don't know how you got out but what I do know is how you're going back in!"
"Stand down!" Celestia walked in front of Discord "I brought him out to help with the situation. I realized I can't handle this myself."
"I don't like it either way Princess. i am keeping an eye on you Discord" he shot a nasty glare at him and continued on
"Well that was rude"
"You can't really blame him you almost destroyed Equestria. Twice."
"I didn't try to destroy it. I was simply making it better. But anyway, this sun thing isn't going to work with just us. We must travel to the Queen's territory." He looked at the dark desert.
"But she would never work with me." Celestia explained
"Nor would she work with me. But Given the situation working together is the only option towards survival."
GASP!!!
Celestia awoke fearing what she had just seen.
"Why do I keep having these nightmares?" She said quietly
Looking outside she saw the moon still high in the sky. Though something was off there was a slight red hue to it.
"It's nothing." She shook her head
She climbed out of bed and walked to her bathroom. She flicked on the lights with her magic and looked in the mirror.
"Oh my." Celestia saw herself. her mane wasn't sparkling nor was it waving magically. Her eyes showed that she had been losing sleep as they were bloodshot.
"Come on Celestia. This is nothing. You've got to keep yourself under control."
She turned on the sink and used her hooves to splash some water on her face
"Celestia art thou alright?" Luna walked into the bathroom
"Yes. Yes, I'm fine"
"We herd you from our room. Art thou sure?" She took a step closer seeing Celestia's state
"Yes" She lied again turning away from Luna
"Okay. Just remember. You can tell me anything" She started to walk back to her room
"Umm, well." Celestia thought about telling her
"Yes?"
"Nothing."
"Okay" Luna walked out of Celestia's room still worried
Celestia climbed back into bed to try to get some sleep still staring at the moon.
"Just try to relax" Celestia breathed deeply
"Just... try... to..."
She fell asleep again.
"Alright Celestia. There is a spell that will quickly put you to sleep if you wish to use it."
"Use it." Celestia said
"Casting the spell now" Luna's horn started to glow and a light went over Celestia's eyes causing her to lay back and sleep
"well that was easy. Now for the dream" She flipped through the book landing on the page
"Let us see just what has got you so afraid." She started to cast the spell touching her horn to Celestia's head
The room started to spin and Luna's vision turned dark
She awoke in a dark land where there was no light.
No sun.
No moon.
"Where? Where am I?" She asked
Luna looked up and saw stars like it was nighttime but the moon was missing. She cast a light spell and a bright blue ball hovered above her head.
She saw a land much like Equestria though the ground was black.
"Let's see if we can find something. Anything" She opened her wings and flapped her wings and started to fly.
"There isn't a tree in sight!, and this landscape resembles Equestria. This is getting weird." She saw a mountain that was exactly like the one Canterlot was built onto.
"Let's hope it is Canterlot" She built up speed towards the mountain
She landed on the familiar balcony of Celestia's tower seeing the charred remains of a bedroom.
"What happened here?" She asked walking through the charred castle.
"What about the moon?" She walked to the balcony using her magic to raise the moon
"I... I don't feel the moon!"
"It... IT'S GONE!"
"Oh. Celestia. You scared me." Luna turned around
"They're all gone!"
"What's gone?" Luna took a step closer to her as light revealed the princess who had her mane burned off and patches of her coat missing.
"EVERYTHING!" She stumbled
"How?" She tried to help Celestia to her hooves
"The sun. It exploded!"
"How? Did you do something to it?" She set Celestia on the charred bed
No response.
"Celestia!" She teared up
No response.
"Celestia speak to me!" she tried to revive her with magic
No response.
"I have to leave! NOW!" She cast a wakening spell which shot to the sky and everything went white
"We are here sister" Luna said as Celestia woke up
"What happened?"
"You fainted when a ball of light came flying out of the sun. It destroyed the telescope so we won't be able to see it again."
"Then did we get anything on the sun?"
"Not much... But there was something in then center of the sun maybe you know something about that?" she helped Celestia up
"No I don't. But that's what I was feeling. There IS something inside the sun and it feels like its trying to escape but again something is keeping it from escaping."
"And do you know anything about the ball of light that destroyed the telescope?"
"Not much but it's some sort of destructive magic that cannot be contained."
"is it still coming to Equestria?"
"No there is a magic barrier that deflects the world. It does make a great light show in the sky" She guided Luna to the balcony to see the sky filled with colors.
"but that thing isn´t going to happen just once. There is going to be a lot more. And i don't think that its a good idea to stay here for much longer."
"Why is that sister?"
"I have a feeling that was one of the smaller ones. Go use this spell, I keep it for emergencies, It spreads your voice to all cities and towns. I'll see what I can do with the sun." Celestia took off from the balcony.
"Shining Armor" Luna spoke " Did you rally the last of the troops?"
"Yes Princess. It's not much though." He pointed to a small block of soldiers quivering in their armor
"About Twenty troops left. I guess It'll have to do" She Looked at them then turned around as her horn started to glow
"Luna" Celestia's voice echoed through her mind " I found five soldiers hiding in the barracks that are willing to stay. Any pony left on your side?"
" Shining Armor and I found Twenty soldiers willing to stay. Bring your's here and we shall explain what we have to do.
"Right. On my way" Celestia's voice stopped
"Princess. I found a soldier here who wants to stay." Cadence walked through the doors
"Thank you brave worrier" Luna bowed her head at the small light blue stallion who was obviously a recruit
"Anything for you, Princess" He bowed back
"Luna" Celestia motioned for the troops to go into formation and met back up with Luna
She looked around at the shaking ponies then towards the sky filling with colors again.
"All of you have gathered here to support us in our final hour." The ground shook " I cannot thank you enough for being so brave as to stay here not knowing the outcome of the situation. But what we need now is to monitor any changes in the sun."
Celestia added " Anything you find you will report to us. Do not give anything a second thought."
All the guards nodded and marched off to their stations
"And... Good luck" Celestia said.
"Hold on, we're getting into ugly territory" Celestia and Discord rode a golden chariot into the Queen's territory
"I can't understand how anything could live out here" He looked out at the barren wastes
"Looking like that I don't think she really even cares."
Two changelings flew up to the chariot
"We are here to talk with your Queen."
The first one looked at Discord and panicked and flew off while the second one led the chariot to dark rundown castle.
"Seems like even they are afraid of you."
"That's good. It'll make these negotiations easier"
The golden chariot landed and the two guards pulling it looked at each other nervously as they waited for their Princess to return
The Changeling led the God of Chaos and Celestia into the royal chamber where a tall, skinny, tattered queen awaited them.
"Well what do we have here. The God of Chaos with dear Celestia. It's good to see you both." She said sarcastically
"Quiet down and listen." Discord snapped
"Aren't you a feisty one."
"We need your help" Queen Chrysalis cut her off
"You?!? Need my help? Why would I help you?!? You forced us to live out here starving to death, while you stay in you castle all nice and cozy. We can't even maintain a protection spell out here because there is not emotion to feed off of out here!"
"Maybe if you were to find another way to feed so that it won't kill any pony I would let you come back. But that is beside the point. I am sure you know what has been happening already with the sun."
"Ah, yes your precious sun , What is so bad that you come to ask me for help."
"The sun isn't under my control anymore. It's growing unstable! If I can get enough magic maybe we can stabilize it."
"I can't help you. There isn't enough magic out here to even make a light spell. The magic I did drain from Shining Armor wasn't even to repair my Castle in the slightest"
"I understand that. Which is why I give you. And only you permission to feed off of where ever emotion is so that you may help us.
"I see you are desperate..." She thought for a moment "Fine. I will help you. On one condition. You restore my castle to is former beauty and allow us to feed for an entire year."
"I will agree to repair your castle. But I draw the line at feeding your colony!" She stomped her hoof
"Celestia. We need her magic"
"Fine." She exhaled " You may feed for an entire year. But if I catch you after a year is up I will come into this place and destroy everything." She locked glares with the Queen
"What can I do to help?" She followed Celestia and Discord to the Chariot where the two guards caught sight of The Queen and shivered in fear
"take us back to the Castle." They then boarded the chariot as it flew back to Canterlot
