Chapters Once Upon a Pony #1 The Curse Begins
An Unexpected Appearance...
Twilight was nervous of everything about the wedding. Marrying Flash was what she dreamed of, but she just felt something wasn't right. She stood with her friends as Rarity sewed the last touches to her dress. Her friends stood by her as she worried about it.
"What if Flash has second thoughts, what if I say the wrong things," Twilight huffed, "what if-"
"Twilight," Applejack exclaimed, "I just don't get why you are fretting about your perfect day!"
"You are going to be great, we all believe in you." Fluttershy added.
"And Flash just loves you to pieces!" Rarity put.
Twilight felt a little more reassured with her friends words. They were the best things of her life, meeting them was purely magic. There was no doubt that they would be together til the end.
"Ruffles, check. Sequins, check. Glitter, check. Perfect!" Rarity squealed. "Twilight, you are just divine, Flash will say "I do" before you could say gorgeous!"
The girls all cheered.
"Now, now, ladies, touch up!" The white unicorn exclaimed. "We are the best mares of a princess now, aren't we?"
The best friends finished with their dresses, and rushed to the palace doors. They all watched as Twilight followed in her magnificent bridal dress. Twilight blushed nervously.
"Twilight, you can do this." Applejack said confidently to her friend.
"We face big scary meanie monsters of all shapes and sizes together, this marriage thing should be a total breeze!" Pinkie exclaimed.
"You think?" Rainbow asked Pinkie sarcastically.
"I'm absolutely, positively sure with sprinkles on top!"
Rainbow rolled her eyes before laughing with all her friends.
"Twilight, are you crying?" Fluttershy asked.
"It's just, I love you guys so much." Twilight replied.
"We are sticking together til' the end!" Applejack declared.
The ponies gave each other a big gigantic hug.
"Now Twilight, try not to ruin your mascara..." Complained Rarity, paranoid the makeup.
At the great doors of the castle the last wedding guests walked inside. No pony noticed the hooded unicorn walk in the crowd to the palace. She had no wish to be seen, she couldn't risk ruining her plan. When the coast was clear, the unicorn telaported to the castle library and rushed in to find a book. The unicorn's magic aura glowed a bright green as she searched the books on the shelves. She had no luck to finding the right one.
"Where is it, where is it?" Huffed the unicorn impatiently.
A few moments later, she spotted the restricted section, which had a lock. The unicorn rushed over and broke the lock with her magic. Guards probably heard the ruckus, so she had to find the book fast. Upon entering a dark room, she spotted the book open upon a table. She eagerly walked toward it, it was the book she needed.
"Ah Celestia, Celestia, isn't pretty stupid of oneself to leave a rare dangerous book lying around?" The unicorn asked. She laughed at the foolishness of the princess.
"You shouldn't have underestimated my power."
She grabbed the book and transported it to her saddle. At that moment, a guard walked into the library. He looked around and spotted the restricted section of the library had been trespassed.
"Thief! Thief! You put that book back right now, you're coming with me!" The stallion barked.
The guard shot a blast from his horn, but the unicorn was too quick. She blocked it with her magic and immediately spiraled it back to the guard. It hit him in the face and sent him to the floor weak. She walked pass the guard as he watched her.
"There's a wedding going on today..." The guard sputtered.
"Who doesn't know that?" The unicorn replied.
"You're not planning to hurt the bride and groom...are you?" The guard asked willingly.
"Don't worry, I won't touch a hair on their manes!" The unicorn said before the guard passed out.
She silently slipped out of the library and through the corridors of the castle. It was only a matter of time before she made a startling appearance...
Back in the ceremonial hall, ponies stood waiting for the bride. Finally, Fluttershy's birds started to sing, and the tall doors opened. The five bridesmaids walked in, with Twilight following behind. She remembered walking in this hall before, as a hero, a best mare, and a princess. This day, she was walking in as a bride.
Flash was stoked to marrying such a beautiful mare. It was everything Flash ever dreamed of in his life. As Twilight walked up the steps, Flash smiled. Both had hearts pumping with adrenaline. The five ponies stood by Twilight as she faced Flash.
"Welcome, mares, stallions, fillies, and colts." Celestia declared. "We are gathered here today to witness the holy matrimony between Princess Twilight Sparkle, and Flash Sentry. May the ring bearers come forth?"
The Cutie Mark Crusaders (very much older and had their cutie marks) hustled up the steps to Twilight and Flash. They took the rings off the velvet pillow and gave them to the couple.
"Twilight, Flash, it is time to make your vows." Celestia said.
"Right," Twilight said. "Flash, the first time I met you, I bumped into you."
All the ponies humored at this statement.
"For the first time in my life, I saw something, it was a little different kind of friendship. I realized sooner or later that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you."
"Aww..." Whispered Pinkie Pie.
Then Flash spoke: "Twilight, you are something special. I think that I am the luckiest stallion today to be with you right now. On this special day, I would not change a thing."
The couple exchanged gold and silver rings, each had a romantic inscription on them.
" With the vows spoken, rings exchanged, I pronounce you husband and wife! You may now kiss the bride!" Celestia declared!
As Flash and Twilight kissed, the ponies cheered. But before Rainbow Dash could make her Sonic Rainboom, the doors flung open.
"Hello?" Luna asked suspiciously.
The hooded unicorn walked in slowly, Rainbow glared at the stranger.
"Oh no, did I interrupt Twilight's special day?" The unicorn purred. "It is a beautiful wedding."
It didn't take long for Twilight to recognize that voice.
"Sunset...Shimmer?" Twilight gasped.
"Oh no, my identity is revealed," Sunset taunted.
Sunset took off her hood. The five bridesmaids shielded Twilight from Sunset's reach.
"Not this time ladies, you can't save Twilight from this one."
"Try us..." Rainbow hissed.
Luna and Celestia got in front of the amber unicorn.
"Leave Twilight alone." Celestia barked.
"Not until I state the reason of returning to Equestria!" Sunset replied, even more serious.
"Very well then," Luna demanded, "speak up!"
Sunset looked at Twilight spitefully.
"One way, Twilight Sparkle, everything you ever loved, all your happiness, will be taken away from you!" Sunset hissed.
Everypony gasped, Twilight only growled.
"Alright, that's enough! Guards, seize her!" Twilight demanded.
Rainbow swiftly dashed to pounce the unicorn. But before she could catch Sunset, the unicorn teleported in a flash.
"Where'd she go?" Rainbow growled. "Let me at her!"
"Check everywhere in the castle, we cannot rest until we find her!" Celestia told the guards.
Twilight rushed to the the princess, Flash and her friends followed.
"Princess Celestia, what is going on?" Twilight asked.
"Sunset Shimmer's back?" Fluttershy asked. "That's something to worry about..."
"Sunset Shimmer has indeed returned, and she is planning a curse..." Celestia replied.
"Oh phooey, there's no curse that we can't handle!" Applejack exclaimed.
"No, this is a dark curse..." Celestia added.
"Say what now?" Twilight questioned.
" This dark curse will send us all to the land without magic..."

Once Upon a Pony #1 The Curse Begins
All the people in the Starbucks sat quiet listening to one young woman's spat with her boyfriend. The gossip spread around the cafe highlighting the break up. It was too good to be true.
This woman had long blond hair with purple and pink streaks, and a black coat. She had a temper like nobody's business. No one needed to get on her bad side.
"I know you've been seeing someone..." The woman muttered.
She strummed her fingers on the table.
"I'm the one with the problem? Come on, get real!"
She started to tap her foot.
"That is it! Don't think about calling, we are through!" She finally barked.
After she slammed her phone down, all the people in the cafe returned to talking and eating breakfast. She took a deep breath.
"You okay Starla?" Asked the cashier.
"Yeah, I'm fine Nancy." Starla replied.
Starla was an undercover detective in New York City, living a normal life. She solved important crimes, her own problems, it was just so simple. How could life turn around now when everything was absolutely ordinary?
A few minutes later, Starla's phone rung again.
"Hello?" Starla spoke.
"Hi, how are you?" Starla asked.
People listened closely to this call.
"I do? Who?"
Starla went blank.
"My son?"
She was surprised. Her son in New York. She gave birth five years ago and the kid found her? Starla grabbed her drink and headed out of the cafe. She drove her Smart car over to the police station. Why has he come now? How could he remember me? She got out of her car and went inside the building. Her employees showed her to her son. He sat on the lounging couch reading a book. The boy had brown hair, slicked back a bit. He wore a blue scarf around his neck. His age probably ranged to nine or ten. Starla walked up to him and waved.
"Hey, I'm Starla." She managed to say. "I guess I'm your mom."
The boy smiled right back at her.
"Hi, I'm Blue!" the kid said. "And the doctors at the station analyzed our blood, it's compatible, I am your son!"
"Where do you live?"
"In Vermont."
"How did you get here?" Starla asked.
"I took my mom's credit cards, gathered some food from our pantry, and got your address here!" Blue replied.
Starla just stared at him.
"I didn't use that much, is $215.00 that serious?"
Starla continued staring, she woke up in seconds.
"Well, " Starla declared, "I have to get you home."
"Cool! I can show you my town!"
This boy clearly had his heart set on finding her, so she wasn't going to let him down. He had gone through so much after all.
"Let's take my car." Starla said.
So the two were off two Vermont. It seemed along way for Starla, but she had to get Blue home to his mom. During part of the ride, Starla was silent, she didn't know what to say to Blue! "Hello, I'm your mom and didn't want you?" It wasn't a pretty plan. Blue didn't mind the silence, he just read some more of his book. Starla caught a glimpse of the book, it was a storybook about ponies. She just did not get it. Finally, after two hours, she broke the ice.
"So...why did you run away?" Starla asked.
"My mom is evil." Blue replied.
Starla was a bit confused by this.
"Your mom can't be evil!"
"Oh she is." Blue answered.
Then she tried a different approach.
"Is there another reason you ran away?"
"Yeah, I needed to find you."
"Why?"
"Your going to save the ponies."
Starla thought she heard that wrong...
"I'm going to save ponies?"
"Yep."
"What happened to these "ponies?"
"They got sent here in the dark curse."
"Dark curse."
"Okay..."
'This kid must be out of his mind!' Starla thought. 'Why is a young boy his age talking about ponies? What are they teaching him in his town? Is there something she didn't know about?' Thirty minutes later, they exited into Blue's town: Bronyville.
"Bronyville?"Starla stated. "That's a weird name.
"I know, I know, but it's home." Blue replied.
Blue guided Starla through the town until reaching his house. The town seemed like a pretty quaint place, a good spot for a growing kid. When they reached his house, Starla had wide eyes. The place was huge, fancy, and looked expensive.
"What's with all the class?" Starla asked.
"She is the mayor of the town." Blue replied, less than proud.
"Got it...the mayor."
Blue walked up and rung the doorbell. The door opened, and a sophisticated women came out. Her hair was blond and brown together, her face had make up all over(not that she really needed it,) and her body was covered in the classiest crimson dress. Her face had the look of worry for her son.
"Blue! Your back!" She exclaimed. "We have been looking all over for you! Where did you go?"
Blue rolled his eyes.
"Mom, I just went to find my real mom."
The mayor eyed Starla with attitude.
"Blue, get inside." She finally said.
Blue walked in the lavish building, and the mayor walked toward Starla.
"Hello..."
"Hi, I'm Blue's birth mom, Starla," Starla spoke. "It's nice to meet you.
"I'm Summer."
"Hi Summ-"
"But you can call me Madam Mayor."
Starla disliked the vibe she was getting from "madam mayor." The true colors of this women were finally revealed.
" Look, let me get straight to the point." Summer muttered. "He is my son, you were the one who chose to give him up. If you are feeling regret, it is too late. You can go now, you've done what you needed to do here."
"Okay, okay!" Starla said.
Starla started walking away when she thought about Blue and his pony book.
"Oh, Blue was talking to me about ponies, me breaking a spell, I hope you know what that means."
Summer looked at Starla.
"Um, okay." Summer answered. With that she went into her house.
Starla walked to her car gloomily. She did like the kid and all. Before she could get in the car, a voice cried out.
"Wait!"
She turned around to see a lady walking up to her. She had on a green turtleneck shirt on, and had finely brushed ebony hair.
"Don't mind me for eavesdropping, but I heard you were Blue's real mom." The lady said.
"Yeah, " Starla replied, "I'm only dropping him off. I'll be leaving."
"If I were you, I think you should stay and get to know Blue. I think he really looks up to you."
Starla felt something about what the woman said.
"I think about it..."
In an old motel called the Equestrian Inn, things were quiet. The innkeeper and her employee sat at the front desk. The innkeeper was in her mid 40's and her employee was a young teen. The teen didn't have any positive attitude about anything, she didn't even smile.
"This place is a dump..." Said the employee.
"Please show some respect Diane." The innkeeper replied firmly.
"Whatever..."
The door opened and Starla came in.
"Oh look, a traveler."
"Hi, I need a room here." Starla stated.
"Ah, but of course!" The innkeeper replied graciously. "How long will you be staying?"
"I don't know yet..."
The Diane spoke: "Get out while you still can!"
"Enough Diane!" Barked the innkeeper. "I'll get your key..."
Starla walked to her room a few minutes later. She opened it and entered a nice little room. With that, she set her belongings down and jumped onto her bed. She thought about Blue.
"I think I may like it here..."

Once Upon a Pony #1 The Curse Begins
The Awkward Visit with Discord
On the balcony of the friendship castle, Twilight stared at the sunset. Her mind was on Sunset Shimmer and the curse. It had been five weeks since the wedding. Was it all a hoax? Or was it something even worse? She couldn't think otherwise. She had no plan of what to do about it. If Sunset did succeed, what would the land without magic be like? It sounded horrible the way Celestia described it. This place wasn't like Canterlot High, which contained a bit of magic. A few minutes later, Flash walked out to the balcony and stood beside Twilight.
"You need to stop thinking about the curse," Flash stated.
"I can't think of anything but it, I have nightmares every week." Twilight complained.
"What if we could stop it?" Asked Flash.
"You heard Princess Celestia at our wedding, this isn't a curse that the elements can stop!"
"But what if there was another way?"
"And I thought that Tirek was the last evil in Equestria, the biggest one!" Twilight muttered to herself.
"What if someone could tell us how to stop it..."
Flash then came up with an idea.
"Hey, what about your friend Discord?"
Twilight looked at Flash like he was crazy.
"He is not my friend!" Twilight sneered.
"Well, Fluttershy knows him." Flash noted.
"Yeah."
"Maybe he's the guy we can get the answers from."
"We are not going to him Flash."
"Twilight, you have to put your feelings toward him aside and do this."
"Flash! He's the reason Spike isn't here! The reason Spike wasn't the ring bearer for our wedding!" Twilight uttered, choking back tears. "His selfish actions cost the life of my friend."
Flash sighed.
"Look, maybe if we go to him, get the answers, be prepared for the curse, things could turn for the better."
Twilight said nothing.
"It's for the fate of Equestria." Flash finally stated.
"Okay then, we'll go." Twilight sighed.
It was time to see Discord...
Twilight and Flash gathered up the five friends and Celestia to talk to Discord. They had kept him in the dungeon after trespassing in Ponyville. Twilight had formed a new hatred toward Discord after unfortunate incidents. All but Fluttershy had treated him with hatred as well; it was like how they met him all over again. Discord never changed back to his evil ways after the dispute, he had no wish to lose Fluttershy.
The ponies walked down the path toward Discord's dungeon. They met him at his prison cell created especially made to keep him from using his powers to set himself free. They stared at Discord as he formed cotton candy in his lion paw. Fluttershy walked up to his cage first.
"Hi Discord." Fluttershy mumbled.
"Fluttershy!" Discord roared, "I haven't seen you in forever! You have to try this cotton candy, it is probably the best I've ever made!"
Fluttershy didn't smile.
"You know I don't like seeing you here."
Discord saw a tear forming in her eye, this was no time to be funny.
"I know I've messed up, bad." Discord admitted.
He snapped his fingers and the ponies now saw him swinging on a swing.
"But I just have to keep on living."
Twilight didn't want to admit it, but Discord had a point. She couldn't keep worrying about Sunset Shimmer, she just had to keep living her life, not knowing what would happen. But to save Equestria, she needed the future read out.
"Discord," Twilight spoke, "Sunset Shimmer is planning a curse, is that true?"
"You better start thinking about how to save yourselves from the curse." Discord declared.
"Okay then, what do we need to do?"
Discord started giggling.
"What?" Twilight asked.
"Are you sure you want to know?" Discord chuckled.
"Tell me!" Twilight demanded.
Discord couldn't hold it in much longer, and he burst with laughter.
"Twili-Sparkle! Ha, ha, haaa! You are pregnant!!" Ha, haaaa!" Discord roared. "Twilight might say: "Oh no! I'm blowing up! What magical cure can save me? Where are all the books about it?" Ha, ha, haaaaaaa!
Twilight stood with annoyance straight in her eyes. All the mares except Pinkie Pie kept a straight face. Pinkie was the only one who just had to agree with Discord.
"Twilight! Ha ha! He's right you know!" Pinkie giggled.
Twilight gave the pink pony eyes that said "knock it off!" She then turned to Flash.
"Flash, what did we do?" Twilight growled angrily.
Flash chuckled sheepishly. Celestia stepped in on the two.
"Twilight, don't get angry with Flash, this was only destiny." Celestia insisted.
After Twilight calmed down, Discord continued with his prophecy telling.
" Your child will be the one to save us all from the curse in 26 years, but you can't let her be touched by it. She needs to get to the land without magic without being under the spell."
Twilight interrupted Discord.
"Wait a minute, how do we know if it's a she?"
Discord looked at Twilight as if she was stupid.
"Don't I see all, Twilight Sparkle?" Discord snapped in annoyance. "Somepony clearly isn't using their common sense."
"Alright Discord I get it!" Twilight huffed, "It's a she, okay! Now how are we going to get our daughter "away" from this curse?"
Then, Celestia saw it all.
"By using the Tree of Harmony." Celestia stated.
"The tree of harmony?" Twilight wondered.
"Yes."
Celestia used her magic to create a vision.
"We must carve a pocket into the tree, its magical elements will be enough to transport your child to the land without magic. This will be the only way."
As she looked at the diagram, Twilight started to cry. Her friends gathered around her.
"What's wrong, Twilight?" Applejack asked her friend.
"I'm going to have a child, my own kid, and I'm going to have to send her away." Twilight sobbed. "She will grow up without me... what if I never meet her?"
"It's the only way to save Equestria." Rainbow added.
"Twilight Sparkle," Discord spoke. "Your child will save us from the curse, it all depends on your choice. I assure you that if you don't send your baby to the "land without magic" now, Sunset Shimmer will take it away otherwise."
Twilight had to do what was best for everyone, even if it meant not being with her baby. She had to take the chance.
"Flash, send a message to Shining Armor and Princess Cadence about the upcoming events. Girls, you along with the princesses and go cut a pocket for my child in the tree of harmony."
"Now that's the spirit Twilight!" Applejack exclaimed.
"Let's do this." Twilight muttered.

Once Upon a Pony #1 The Curse Begins
The sun shone bright on Sunset Shimmer as she walked into town. She walked confidently with a smug smile on her face. No one in Bronyville wanted to get in her way when she was anywhere.
"Another day of being in control of Equestria," Sunset thought.
She walked passed three teenagers. One had brown spiked hair, and was dressed sporty as she was rollerskating. The other was dressed flowery, and had long blond curly hair. She stood by her other friend, who had red hair knotted in a bun. The girls were a bit intimidated by the mayor and made no haste to get away, but the mayor stopped them in their tracks.
"Hello girls!" Sunset Shimmer said in a false tone. "Have you noticed anything or anyone out of the ordinary?"
"No," the red haired country girl replied.
Sunset was annoyed by her reply, but she kept her smug smile glued to her face.
"Well, if you do see anything, tell me right away," Sunset huffed.
"Okay..." The roller skater murmured.
"Oh, and Scout?" Sunset added to the roller skater. "No rollerskating on the sidewalk."
The three girls walked away as the mayor continued her morning stroll. She walked to the old antique shop. As she was about to enter, the mail lady walked up to her. She had some sort of a vision problem, her one eye stared at Sunset, but the other stared off into space.
"Madam Mayor!" She declared happily. "I have your mail!"
"Great," muttered the mayor.
She pulled out an envelope from her bag and gave it to the mayor. She looked at it for a moment, it was the wrong mail. Before she could return it, the mail lady was gone. Another day with the wrong mail.
"Some of the happiest people are clueless," The mayor thought bitterly.
Sunset shrugged it off as she walked into the antique shop. She stood in the back of the line while watching a young lady pay for some trinkets. She was small and timid, and had a slick blond pony tail. She wore a very short dress. She was chatting to the shop owner, who was tall with whitish gray hair and bushy eyebrows. He was fashioned in the strangest suit, it was full of different patterns. The two had a strange liking for one another, but didn't want to show it.
"I can make that a discount," the shop owner offered.
"That would be great!" the young lady replied.
"Fluttercord..." The mayor thought coldly. "The unlikeliest two are still inseparable."
She was about to break it all up.
"Scram Astrid!" Sunset snarled at the girl.
"Agh!" Astrid screamed, startled. "Sorry...madam...mayor...."
Embarrassed and intimidated, she ran out of the store. The shop owner sighed heavily, he looked at the mayor coldly.
"We need to talk, Discord," Sunset stated.
"It kills me everyday not really knowing Fluttershy at all," Discord complained.
"You know the price, the wimpy pony would spoil everything to her friends."
"What do you want Shimmer?"
"It's been 26 years now..."
"Oh really? I can't even tell anymore," Discord said sarcastically.
"Don't you remember the prophecy?" Sunset asked.
"Ah, that," Discord recalled. "It really has be 26 years."
Sunset walked to the window and peered out. Her son was with Starla as they walked down to the Equestrian Cafe. Discord walked over and looked at Starla.
"What are we looking at?" Discord questioned.
"My son brought back Twilight's daughter," Sunset stated.
"I get it now."
"What do I do now? She's there! It will all come true!" The mayor panicked.
"It isn't my problem, madam mayor. I'm not taking any side."
Discord snapped his fingers, and the lights went out.
"Doesn't mean I won't lay a few tricks," Discord smirked.
"Don't go meddling with my plans," Sunset growled.
Discord stepped in front of Sunset Shimmer.
"You took most of my powers, took my laughter, and took away Fluttershy. I'm not promising anything." Discord sternly muttered to Sunset.
Sunset scowled at Discord as he opened the door for her.
"Good day, Madam Mayor."
Blue tugged at Starla's hand as they walked down to the Equestrian Cafe. She could feel Blue's excitement running through her, it felt nice to be walking with eager company. Most days she would walk down to her car by herself, or walk to Starbucks for a latte. But this, this was something more.
"So," Starla hummed, "will you show me around?"
"Of course!" Blue squealed. "I want to show you everywhere! My school, my friends, my hideout, the antique shop, oh I can't count!"
"Great!"
"We should get breakfast first, fill ourselves up with food."
"Blue, you took the words right out of my mouth ."
"Of course I did."
Blue and Starla walked a few more blocks before reaching the Equestrian Cafe. It was a quaint little place, it looked welcoming to anyone with an appetite. The structure was covered in ivy, potted plants made the grand perimeter. Blue and Starla walked into the cafe, and it was bustled with people. The only three she recognized was the innkeeper, her employee Diane, and the young woman she met on the street. The two got a seat the bar next to her.
"So, you decided to stay!" The woman beamed.
"Yeah, I'm glad that I did, I like not being alone back in New York," Starla replied.
"No one wants to be alone."
Starla looked around for Blue, but he wasn't at the booth.
"Blue? Blue!" Starla called.
"I'm over here!" Blue called from another table.
He was huddled by three girls, who seemed very friendly. One had blond hair and dressed in a country style, the other blue hair and looked as if she just came back from a run. The other was Diane. They all were chatting with Blue, who already had got his breakfast in a flash. Starla walked over to get Blue when she herself was crowded by these girls.
"Now who is this, Blue?" The cowgirl asked.
"That's my real mom," Blue replied proudly.
"Hi," Starla said sheepishly.
"Well howdy partner!" Exclaimed the cowgirl. "Welcome to Bronyville, I can honestly tell you that this town is worthwhile."
"I can already tell," Starla replied more confidently.
"My name is Amber."
The cowgirl pointed to Diane.
"This here's Diane!"
Diane waved to Starla.
"Yeah, we've met," Diane said in the most monotone voice. "She's staying at the Equestrian Inn."
Amber turned to the runner.
"This is Piper, she has 5 medals from the Bronyville Race-A-Thon in the forest," Amber explained. "She's also the best boxer I ever did see."
Piper shook Starla's hand.
"Nice to meet you...uh..." She said until realizing that she didn't know Starla's name.
"Starla," stated Starla.
"Nice to meet you Starla!" Piper exclaimed.
"And I'm Rose," the woman at the booth stated.
She walked over to Starla, Blue, and the girls.
"I'm Blue's elementary teacher."
"I didn't know that," Starla surprisingly mumbled. "Blue, you didn't tell me this."
"Yeah, I was busy drinking hot chocolate," Blue replied.
All the girls laughed at Blue's absurd comment. It was only a few seconds until they noticed the sobbing girl rush in and sit down at the bar. The four women had an expression that said "Now what happened?"
"What's with her?" Starla questioned.
"That's Astrid," Amber explained. "She's had it tough these last for months."
"She ran a daycare for all the pets in Bronyville, I brought my tortoise there all the time," Piper said kind of downheartedly.
"Things looked good for her, until the mayor stepped in," Rose added. "The mayor will shut down any business she sees unfit, she shut down Astrid's."
"What's wrong with a pet daycare?" Starla asked.
"One of the dogs snapped at Blues hand while he was playing with the dogs," Rose answered.
"Give me a break," Starla said bewildered.
"Now she works late nights at the Dodge Junction, which as little pay and no respect for women," Amber muttered.
Back at the booth, Astrid covered her head in her hands, wet mascara streamed down her face. The mayor could blow a fuse and ruin her life in Bronyville even more. She couldn't handle if she lost her house. Diane and a young woman with ebony black hair came next to her and listened to her sorrows.
"Another late night last night, Astrid?" The black haired woman asked.
"Roxanne, I just don't know what to do!" Astrid cried. "It's like shes going to take away my house next! I'm walking on eggshells here!"
"There, there," Diane said warmly. "Want some coffee and a croissant?"
"Sure..." Astrid muttered.
"Why haven't we elected a new mayor yet?" Diane asked sarcastically.
Roxanne gasped her comment.
"My dear Diane!" She exclaimed. "You could make the mayor shut down the cafe with that attitude!"
"Why should I care? This cafe isn't fun, it doesn't make me laugh, and it doesn't make me happy," Diane muttered coldly.
Nothing really ever made Diane happy.
After breakfast Blue and Starla set out on the sightseeing in the town. Starla met kind people in the cafe, but also heard a lot of drama. Why is Blue's foster mom so mean to the town? Must be why Blue thinks she so evil, she just has a political edge on her, no biggie.
"So, how was it meeting the Elements of Harmony?" Blue asked. "Or at least most of them?"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Starla said, confused. "Elements of Harmony?"
"Uh, yeah, forgot that the people in the town are really ponies?"
"Ah, are you still on that subject?"
Sure enough, he still had the book with him.
"Today, you met Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Applejack," Blue explained. "The weeping girl was Fluttershy."
"What kind of a name is "Pinkie Pie?" Starla wondered.
"Hey, it still a name, just like yours."
"Fare point."
"But hey, you made some friends."
"How could they be my friends? I just met them!"
"This is only the first part of it, your friendship is important."
"I won't be staying here long enough to even have them as friends.
"I bet something about Bronyville will make you want to stay here."
"What ever you say kid."
Author's Note
Characters are starting to develop, this is fun! One more chapter for this story after Starla's New Friends and it will be complete!
This story is only the starting, I'm breaking one season into eight stories. But I'm going to take a break with Once Upon a Pony stories and start creating original pony stories not based on shows. Expect fun stories popping up in the future!
