Maud sighed as she reached the entrance of her childhood home. The rock farm. It was a sight to behold in her eyes, though to others it looked like a old abandoned farm. Yes, she had many fond memories on those rock fields, it’s where she found her special talent.
The reason why she was there was because today was the annual family get together. Her parents came up with it once all their daughters moved out. Every year, her and her sisters came over to spend a whole day being a family. Maud actually enjoys it very much.
Usually she couldn't wait to see Pinkie and her other sisters. She especially loved seeing her niece, Sundae Delight. But this year was different. She been keeping a secret from her family. One that is now very hard to conceal. She know’s she going to regret coming to this, she just knows it.
Maud walked onto the property and followed the path to the old farm house. When she reached the door she knocked twice. Her mother opened it and surprised her with a big hug.
“Oh, my darling Maud, I haven’t seen you for so long…” She stopped and looked down at Maud’s swollen stomach. “You, er, you’re pregnant?” Maud looked back and glanced at her expanded sides.
“Yes.” She said monotonously. She looked back at her mother, who looked completely shocked.
“And when were you going to tell us?” She asked sternly. Maud’s expression never changed, but in her mind she felt horrible. At least her mother had the right to know that she was going to be a grandmother again.
“I was going to tell you when I found out, but I was to busy with work.” Maud looked down at the ground and frowned. She hated lying to her parents, but she really didn't want them to know. She was afraid to come to the family get together, because she knew questions about the father would start popping up. She doesn't have it in her to tell them about him yet.
Her mother’s expression soften and she guided her daughter into her old home. “Well, it doesn't matter now. I’m just glad to know I’m going to have another grand baby.” She said and smiled. Maud looked up at her nuzzled her neck. Her mother rested her head on top of Maud’s and sighed. They both entered the living room were her family was sitting. She heard the entire room gasp. Pinkie’s excitement almost literally broke the ceiling.
“HI MAUD!” She cheered. “Why didn't you tell us your going to have a baby Pie?!” Was it really that obvious? Maud looked at Pinkie with no emotion and said: “I was going to tell all of you, but…” Her mother interrupted. “I’m as shocked as all of you are, but please don’t ask her questions just yet. She just arrived. I’m sure she will explain later.” She smiled and winked at Maud, but that didn't really make her feel any better.
Maud slowly made her way to the couch and sat down. Limestone and Marble began staring at her. Then Maud started to stare at them. They all just stared at each other for a whole two minutes before their father interrupted their strange staring contest.
“So uh, Marble, how are you and Brulee getting along?” Marble Pie snapped out of her staring trance and glanced at her father. She smiled and began talking about how her and her new husband found a nice cottage on the outskirts of Hoovington. Maud scooted up on the couch to get more comfortable. She rested one of her hooves on top of her stomach and turned her head. She saw Sundae Delight staring up at her.
“Hello.” Maud said plainly. Sundae climbed on Maud and brought her face close to hers. She planted a soft kiss on Maud’s cheek and got down. A very small smile grew on Maud’s lips and she patted Sundae’s head.
“Hello.” She said. “Mommy said you have a little baby inside your belly.” Maud nodded. “Did you eat a baby?” Sundae asked. Maud cocked her head slightly. “I didn't eat a baby, Sundae.”
“Oh.” Sundae inspected Maud’s very pregnant belly. “Then how did it get in there?” She asked. Maud looked at her sisters for help but they just shrugged. “It’s...a very long story.”
Pinkie Pie hops into the room and says: “Yes it is. First the mommy and daddy start kissing each other. Then the daddy puts his-” Marble interrupts by stuffing her hoof into Pinkie’s mouth. “Then uh, the daddy puts his face up to her belly and kisses it. Then the baby sprite comes and casts a spell on the mommy’s belly. Eleven months later a baby comes out of her bellybutton.” Marble explains.
“Ohhhh.” Sundae says and turns to Maud. “Auntie Maud, when will the baby come out of your bellybutton?” She asked. Everybody in the room looked at Maud. A droplet of sweet rolled down her face. “Well, it will come out, um-” Just then, Cloudy Quarts came in and cheerfully announced that food was ready. Everybody quickly got up and ran to the dining room. Maud sighed and slowly got up from the couch. This is going to be harder than she thought.
When she entered the dining room, everybody was already getting their food. She sat down in her old spot and began filling up her plate. Nobody noticed how full her plate was compared to theirs. Or maybe they were just pretending to not notice. She quickly began eating her food.
Her family started shouting and laughing about random things. The loud conversations was making the baby stir in Maud’s womb. She let out a sharp breath as the baby started kicking the walls of her uterus hard. Then she gasped as it completely flipped inside her. Her eyes darted to all her family members.
“Could you all please be a little quieter?” She asked somewhat loudly. Everybody stopped in mid conversation and looked at Maud. She sighed as she felt the baby slowly settle. “Thank you.” She said patiently.
They all looked at each other and continued their conversations more quietly. Then Cloudy Quartz turned to Maud.
“So, Maud, how far along are you?” She asked. Maud stared at her mother with a straight expression, but panic flooded her mind.
“I-I’m ten months along.” she said. Her mother’s eyebrows rose.
“So you’re about ready to pop then, huh.” Limestone said.
“Do you know what the gender is?” Marble asked. Maud shook her head.
“Have you had a baby shower yet?” Pinkie added. Maud swallowed and shook her head again. She felt the question coming.
“Who’s the father, if you don’t mind me asking?” Her father asked. The table fell silent. Everybody waited for Maud to answer. She felt her stomach drop.
“I don’t want to talk about it.” She finally said.
“Why not?” Her mother asked.
“I-I, it’s not important.” Maud stuttered.
“Well, it kinda is.” Pinkie said. “How am I going to send out invitations if I don’t know the father’s name?” She added. The sides of Maud's lips began to falter as her expressionless mask began to fall off.
“It’s not important.” She said again, hoping to end the conversation, but Pinkie proceeded. “Well, did he leave you then? That’s why he’s not important?” Her mother glared at Pinkie and she shrugged. Maud looked as if she just got shot.
“Maud?” Marble placed a hoof on Maud’s withers. Her breathe was hard. She did everything she could to not cry. “Are you okay?” Maud’s lips quivered and she said it.
“H-he...he..d-died.” Maud let out a quiet sob. The whole table looked at each other in shock.
“Oh, Maud.” Her mother walked around the table and held her daughter. “I’m so sorry.” Nobody, except her mother, has ever seen Maud in this state. She hung her head and sobbed louder. Limestone and Marble began to tear up. Pinkie looked down as her hair slowly deflated.
“I loved him so much. Then one day, he just dies.” Maud whimpered. She looked at her mother. “Why did he have to die?” Cloudy shushed Maud and began to rock her. The whole table was silent besides the occasional sob and sniffles.
They moved Maud back in the living room. She curled up on the couch and hugged her stomach. All of her family sat around and stared at her. Nobody knew what to do.
“How did he die?” Her father asked, breaking the intense silence. Maud had composed herself to where she had her usual personality back.
“He died a couple months after I learned I was pregnant. He worked as a train engineer. He died during a explosion on the train. They said he didn't even feel a thing.” Maud’s eyebrows furrowed. “I've been working extra hard to make sure I can provided for my foal. I don’t want to fail as a mother.” She looked up at her family members. They all looked so concerned.
“So that’s why you didn't tell us?” Her mother asked. “Did you think we would judge you?” Maud shook her head.
“I didn't tell you because I didn't want any of you to worry about me. I also didn't want to talk about the father because it was still to painful.” She said.
“Well of course we are going to worry about you!” Pinkie said. “Your like the best biggest sister in the whole wide world!” Marble and Limestone nodded in agreement. A small smile returned to Maud's face.
“We all love you so much. Just because you’re grown, doesn't mean you can’t get help from your family.” Her mother added. Pinkie Pie hopped up and gave Maud the biggest Pinkie hug she could possible give. Maud was kinda afraid she was going to crush the baby. The other Pie’s stood up and joined in on the hug. The affection was almost to much.
After the hug everyone got back to the get together. Limestone and Marble began talking about when they were little. Their father joined in and brought up a embarrassing story about Limestone. Cloudy Quartz and her Sunday played a game of cards. Sunday always tries to find a way to cheat. Cloudy thinks it’s the funnest thing in the world.
Pinkie hung out with Maud. They both understood each other the most. Pinkie sorta knew where Maud was coming from. The father of her daughter had left her before he even knew he was going to be a father. When Pinkie was pregnant, Maud supported her in any way she knew how. She always stood beside Pinkie, now Pinkie stood by her.
“Do you want to feel the baby kick?” Maud asked. Pinkie smiled brightly and placed her head on Maud’s belly. She felt it kick hard.
“Doesn't that hurt, Maud?” She asked. Maud grunted softly and rubbed her stomach. “Only a little bit.” She said.
“Soooo, when do you want to have that baby shower?” She asked as she listened for any movement in her sister’s belly. Maud looked down and petted Pinkie’s hair. “Whenever you want it. You know I’m not good when it comes to planning parties.” She said. Pinkie’s head shot up. Her smile was so big, it nearly took up her entire face.
“I would love to throw you a baby shower!” She said cheerfully. “This is going to be better than the Cake’s shower, because it’ll be for my big sister!” Maud leaned in and hugged Pinkie softly.
“Thank you Pinkie Pie.”

Okay, I wrote this story in a matter of a couple hours, no editor. I couldn't come up with an ending so I kinda BS'd it. lol
