The New Element

"You're out of ideas, your mind is blank kid..." Said a sarcastic tone of voice, drowning the patter of rain tapping the window lightly, the voice in question coming from a cat boy wearing a black hoodie and black sweatpants laying down on his bed. "Mye-myemye-mya!" he said then blowing a raspberry. "Whatever, I am NOT running out of ideas, I just can't think straight is all... Yeah..." he said as he believed it himself and then sat up, revealing that the boy has Sky Blue shoulder length hair with spiked bangs and equally sky blue eyes and brown cat ears.

The boy looked over to the the door expecting the academy teacher to burst in to give him a big lecture of how much of a slacker he was, but it wasn't over the fact he was a slacker, he just didn't understand how Heraldry fully worked, he did learn a few cool techniques involving his blade though and he thought that was good enough.

Well, not REALLY a blade, it was more like a big wooden stick but it was shaped like a Japanese Katana all the same...

He sighs as he recalls how he got into this academy, his parents. "Now son, you're gonna need a good degree to become something in this world." he remembers how his father usually spoke. "Now Kyo, don't speak back to your father like that, you know he hates it when you contradict him."

Kyo chuckles, while he didn't like how his parents always controlled the teen's life, he still missed them. "Mom, dad... I wonder how you're doing without me? What about you, Sara?" he said as he also remembered his young sister, who was a bit of a brat but she was pretty lovable and despite her "Hating" Kyo, she always wanted her big brother close.

If only you were there that one night, maybe she'd still be here...

The sudden realization sparked sad memories in Kyo's head. "Oh that's right... You're not with us anymore, are you?" he then had a bit of a smile. "I'm trying hard for you, squirt..."  he then smiled more. "I never back down on a promise after all." he got up from his bed and then looked at the clock. "Speaking of which, perfect time to train!" Kyo said brightly as he quickly got changed into his training gear.

After a minute or two of quick changing, Kyo got into a dark blue jacket with gray pants and indigo shoes, complete with black fingerless glove, the material of this particular choice of clothing had enchantments to protect the wearer from elemental damage, but is useless against normal magic, which was a bit of a flaw from the designer, but Kyo didn't mind that much.

After finishing his random posing, he grabs his wooden katana and an iPod, you do need to concentrate the only way you know how after all.

Grabbing his necessities, he sneaks out of the academy while everybody was asleep, leading him to the courtyard, it was dark and the sky did not look friendly, the rain was a little bit harsh, the windy air was cold and unforgiving. "Ah, nothing like freezing weather to properly train the body and mind." he joked as he went up to a blind spot of the academy and got his iPod.

Putting the ear buds into his ears, he picked out an inspirational song from an anime that was pretty likable, but he remembered that it wasn't everyone's cup of tea.

"Oh yeah, that's more like it!" he said as he kept his wooden katana on his waist and started to charge by concentrating all of his energy. "Alright..." He closes his eyes.

Unknown of the danger above him, he was concentrating, his palms engulfed in artificial lightning. 'Lightning bolt!' he shouts in his mind as he felt his arms produce no lightning, but he saw a flash as his eyes closed and opened his eyes. "Hey! I did it!" he said but noticing there was no longer any lightning on his arms or he saw no lightning pattern on the target he aimed at.

This confused him, making him tilt his head. "That's strange..." he shrugged and tried again. "Okay... Something more simple..." he said as he saw another flash as his eyes closed.

He opens his eyes immediately. "Okay, now I know that's not mine..." he said as he felt the rain get harder on his skin, literally hurting him and the music turning to white static. "Ow! What the..." he pulled the plugs out and looked up.

What he saw was strange even for a storm, the cloud had a circular opening a similar to that of a hurricane, but it was strange, there was no news of a hurricane or the fact that hurricanes don't hit this side of the world.

Then he jumped back as he felt a lightning bolt almost strike him. "Whoa!" he lands on his butt as he looks back up to see that the hole grew bigger, making Kyo's eyes widen in fear.

But before he could move, the gravity around Kyo lifted and he was being forced into the air, slowly ascending into the hole. "NO! WHOA HEY! NO! STOP!" he said pleading to any God up there to stop this madness and leave him alone.

While he struggled real lightning struck him, the enchantment rendered useless and the boy knocked into unconsciousness, his body falls limp as he was sucked into the hole, his body completely gone from any sleepy yet alerted prying eyes who was witnessing the event, causing panic to the academy, but that was the only thing Kyo heard last until...

Nothingness...

Inside he accepted death, knowing that he said. 'This is what death is like?... Man this blows...'

But as his muscles awaken, he could feel, hear and smell everything, sight and taste would come later as inside he felt overly joyed having nearly all of his senses back.

He didn't know how much time had passed, but he has a feeling that he will definitely feel that lightning bolt in the morning, or whenever he wakes up.

"Just what is this thing anyways?" A boy-like voice was heard, while another voice accompanied the boy, this voice sounded more feminine. "I don't know, Spike... But whatever it is, it's probably a male..."

'What?' Kyo said to himself as he tried to comprehend what he just heard.

"Any replies from the Princess yet, Spike?" The feminine voice said to this "Spike" to which he heard him talk. "Not yet, Twi..."

Kyo heard a groan. "Can't she see that this is 100% top priority?!" this "Twi" said in reply to Spike, with another groan she simply said. "Oh well, I guess we'll let this thing sleep..." she said as Spike had an auditory sigh and followed this 'Twi' character out.

Kyo woke up the moment they left, feeling his muscles regain but his vision blurry, he didn't want to wake up in the middle of them speaking and startle ... Whatever race and or creature he ended up appearing with.

He sits up, surprisingly he didn't feel any sudden jolts of pain. "Good, I guess that means I'm healed... I wonder how long I've been out for...?" He shook his head as he was looking around for his iPod.

His search was in vain since he couldn't find it nor could he find his training gear, he was wearing what seemed to be a heavily customized hospital gown, it was strangely crafted. it felt weird... and wrong.

The boy's deduction was correct as he was wearing nothing underneath. "O-Oh my.."

Then he had to check behind him if there was any exposed areas on his back and behind, luckily there was nothing, it was just a full gown.

Crisis averted...

Kyo sighs as he had to find his training gear and leave, or just leave entirely, or wait it out and see what happens.

The boy did not like the last option, he didn't know what these apparent otherworldly creatures can do to him once he's awake. "Oh god, let's just hope I don't get involved in a breeding facility or something..." he said to himself as a joke, but the more he thought about it, the more he didn't like staying here.

So he just decided that there was only one thing to do, just LEAVE, forget that you were ever here and find your own way home, couldn't be that hard could it?

Kyo began to climb the windowsill and opened the bottom part of the window, he looked out and noticed that the city was infested with Equines. "Horses huh?..." he then started to wonder. "Wait, so this Twi and Spike, I take it they're horses, talking horses... How very strange... But, oh well.." he then smiled as he vaulted over the windowsill and grabbed onto the ledge.

Lowering himself down to hanging, he began to climb down and make it to another ledge of another window and grabbed onto that, he continued doing this until he got one of the doctor's attention. "! Crap!"

"Code Rainbow! The new Patient is escaping!" The equine doctor shouted before Kyo lost his grip "Whoa!" and fell onto a bush underneath, while it cushioned the fall a little bit, he was still hurt. "Ow! Son of a bitch..." Kyo says to himself as he wipes leaves off of him and started to run for it.

Even with his enhanced agility and acrobatics, he wasn't sure if these horses were able to catch up with him, seeing as he saw wings on one instance of equine, he could very well be in a huge disadvantage. "Not gonna give up easily though..." he said as he made it to a building and hides out until the heat died down.

Little did Kyo knew, he was being watched and Kyo sighed in relief, about to continue on, he was stopped by a small filly or a colt staring right at him. "Hey mister, what are you?" said the filly with yellow fur and cherry red hair with a red bow tie and a southern feminine accent.

"Uhm..." was all Kyo mustered until he heard. "Ah! Monster!" And before he knew it, he was bucked by a tanned pony with cream hair and a stetson, turns out... Stomachs are very sensitive to kicks, who knew?

The kick forces him to fall over in agony. "Agh!" The stetson pony with a southern accent then yelled at him "G-Get away from mah little sister you.... WHATEVER YOU ARE!" She shouted then called the others. "Hey Everypony! This is the escapee right?!"

Kyo looked up as he saw 5 other equines appear. "...C-Crap..." he said as he whimpered a bit.

"Ah just saw this slippery varmint talk to mah sister! She could'a been hurt!" to which the filly replied. "But I was curious! And he wasn't hurting me, he was going to answer my question until you came along!"

The lavender pony sighs. "3 days in a coma and already causing trouble... An interesting creature definitely, Fluttershy do you know anything about him?"

Fluttershy shook her head, but she starts to pet Kyo's ears. "Nothing really of the sort, but... He looks cute, and ... Gosh Applejack, did you have to hurt this poor thing?"

"Well, what else CAN ah do?" Applejack pleaded.

"Remember Applejack we shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, remember Zecora?"  Twilight said to which Applejack looked down. "...Yes..."

Kyo was too busy in pain, he was pretty sure if he ate something recently the contents would of been chucked up by now, wiping his mouth from the drool and blood, he looks at Applejack with a smile. "D-don't... w-worry... If I ... Had a sister... I'd of.. Done the same.. thing.."

Applejack kicked the ground a bit, feeling a bit bad for that.

'Jesus Wept, it even hurts to talk...' he said in his mind as he slowly got up, noticing that these horses were almost as tall as him, the bigger ones anyways.

These surely aren't like normal horses. "So, what are you anyways?" The tomboyish cyan pony with a messy rainbow mane and tail asked, Kyo took himself a few seconds to steer the shock and sighs shakily. "Well... I am a cathuman... But, just call me a human in terms of my species..."

He scratches his head. "My name is Kyo... Kyo Kenji, it's a pleasure to meet you uhm..."

"Ponies." the lavender pony said to finish his sentence. "I am Twilight Sparkle."

"Rainbow Dash!" The Rainbow pony said as she did a number of air maneuvers and then lazily lays her back to the sky while her wings were doing the work.

"Rarity, charmed darling." she said with a smile and fixes her mane.

"Uhm, ah'm Applejack... Sorry bout that..." the Cowmare softly says to which Kyo just smiles. "Don't worry yourself about that..."

"M-My name is... uhm... Fluttershy..." Luckily with his ears, he could pick up the name just fine. "Nice to meet you Fluttershy."

"Wait, where's Pinkie?" Twilight mentioned as she looks around, looking for her pink and bubbly friend, to which she answered with a big. "SURPRISE!"

Kyo fell back like he almost had a heart attack. "YIPES! D-D-D-DON'T STARTLE ME LIKE THAT!" to which Pinkie just giggled. "Silly, I didn't startle you that bad, did I?" she then started to bounce up and down. "I'm Pinkie Pie and I'm gonna make you a party!" she said happily.

Kyo knew straight off the bat that he wasn't going to like Pinkie Pie that much... At least starting off, but she seems like a laughter kind of pony, a good hearted pony. "W-Well, you don't have to--" He was stopped by Twilight putting a hoof into Kyo's mouth. "Shh, let her make your party, she does this with every new pony."

He just went with it and nodded. "O-Okay..." Pinkie's smile grew wider and wider after he said that, he didn't know whether or not to regret that decision or be happy that he made a hyperactive pony smile. "Ah... So, okay... We all got each other's names I get that..."

He then thinks for something new to say. "Where exactly am I?"
