From the tallest of the towers, Celestia looked up at the night sky. She had just lowered the sun, to give way to the moon. Down in the city of Canterlot, ponies returned home from a busy day, while others just started their nocturnal life. Celestia sadly smiled. If there had been this much energy and love for the night a thousand years ago, then she wouldn’t had to do the hardest choice of her life. She wouldn’t had spend this thousand years regretting that single action. She wouldn’t had spend this thousand years alone. The only good thing about this, was that it was finally coming to an end. Celestia looked at the mare in the moon, the spell that was keeping her up there was finally fading away. One week from this moment. This time, Celestia wouldn’t be the main character. That responsibility would fall on her student. Celestia felt bad, putting so much weight on Twilight’s shoulder, but there was nothing she could do about this. The only thing that could save her sister was the element’s of harmony, and she was no longer worthy of using their power. The only thing that Celestia could do now was wait and have faith. Faith in her student, faith in the elements, faith in a better future. With a sigh, Celestia Spread her wings, taking off and flying towards the window of her room. Inside, Celestia Closed the window, giving one last look at the starry sky. If everything went as Celestia predicted, the world would be able to enjoy a real magical night. Celestia felt something strange in her room. Looking away from the window, Celestia felt the wind start blowing. How could this be? The door and the window were both closed, there was no way that the wind could act like this in a closed room, unless magic was involved. From the center of the room, little sparks started to fly everywhere. This magic, Celestia had seen it before but couldn’t remember what was it. She just braced herself for whatever it was or whoever it was. The wind picked up and more sparks jumped around. At the center of all this, a white light began to shine, getting bigger and bigger, expanding all over the room. Then it stopped, the light backed up and gathered in one single point. With a flash that temporarily blinded Celestia, the light faded, leaving behind a dark coated alicorn lying on the floor. Celestia’s eyes widened. This couldn’t be, this must be a trick or something. There was just no way that- “Luna?” Celestia tentatively asked, giving one step forward. The mare shook her head, then looked up. “Tia…” She said, standing up and walking forward. “No, no no, stay away.” Celestia said, stepping back. “This… This can’t be real. You… You can’t be here” Celestia looked back at the moon, the image of the mare in the moon still up there. Celestia’s eye filled with tears. “This isn’t real. This is a trick.” Celestia looked back at Luna, who was standing in front of her. “You…” Luna got close to Celestia, embracing her with her wings. “I’m real, Tia, I’m Luna, but... I’m not your Luna.” Luna looked out the window. “She’s still up there.” Celestia pulled away, tears freely rolling down. “Then you…” “I’m from the future, Tia.” “The future…” Celestia’s eyes widened. “Starswirl the Bearded time travel spell.” Luna nodded. “That’s why the spell seemed so familiar.” Celestia looked at Luna one more time, from the hooves to the tip of her horn, this was her sister. Happiness filled Celestia’s body and a big smile covered her face. This was future Luna, that could only mean one thing. Celestia hugged Luna. “She did it. Twilight saved you…” “Yes, she did, Tia. Twilight and her five friends saved me from the corruption of Nightmare Moon. But…” Luna pulled away. “I’m not here just to tell you that.” Moving away, Luna lifted with her magic a large scroll that Celesti hadn’t noticed before. “Tia, I need you to make a copy of this document right now.” “What, why?” “Tia, as you must know, this time travel spell only allows me to stay here for a small amount of time.” Luna took a deep breath and levitated the scroll to Celestia. “That scroll is a letter from you. It has information that will save you, and me, a lot of suffering.” “What? What do you mean with-” “Tia, there is no time, I need you to make a copy of it. Once the spell reaches its limit, this scroll will return to the future with me.” Celestia looked at Luna, then at the scroll, grabbing it with her magic. “Right.” From the desk, a scroll surrounded by a golden aura flew to Celestia. Both scrolls unrolled and faced each other. The inkwell on the desk began to shake, and droplets of ink jumped out of it, landing on the blank scroll. Slowly, the words began to take shape, making a perfect copy of the first scroll. Rolling both scrolls, Celestia placed the copy on her desk and gave the original back to Luna. “It’s done.” Luna smiled. “Tia, I helped you write that letter. Everything that is written in it is completely true.” Luna took the scroll with her magic and placed it on the floor, next to her hoof. “I have one last thing for you. You asked me to give it to you, that it would help you a lot, and I’m more than happy to comply.” Celestia arched a brow. “What is-” Celestia’s words were cut as Luna moved forward and locked lips with her. Her eyes widened in shock, this couldn’t be happening. Luna gently caressed Celestia’s cheek with a hoof, and slowly, broke the kiss, keeping the hoof in place as she looked her sister right in the eyes. Sparks of light began covering Luna’s body. “I love you, Celestia.” Luna said as she started to shine more and more until finally, with a final flash, Luna vanished back into the future, leaving a stunned Celestia alone. Luna had kissed her. The sister she hadn’t seen in a thousand years had kissed her and tasted every inch of her mouth. Celestia felt her heart rate increase. She shuck her head. “Luna… She… That can’t be…” Celestia was having troubles about how to feel about it. An option was to think that it hadn’t been real, but if it hadn’t be real, then the only logical conclusion was that she had just daydreamed of her making out with her little sister. Celestia breathed deeply, trying to calm herself. So much had happened in such a small amount of time. Getting a visit from the future version of her sister, realise that her sister would be saved from Nightmare Moon, and, being kissed by Luna. Her face warmed up at the thought. Celestia gave some shaky steps towards her desk, a variety of papers and objects lying on it, but the only one that mattered to Celestia right now was the large scroll. Celestia took one deep breath and unrolled it. She easily recognised her horn-writing. Celestia, There is a lot to say in this, but I want to start saying the most important thing: I love Luna...
