Rainbow Dash discovers that she's a changeling. All her friends think she is a spy sent to Ponyville to gather intel on the Elements Of Harmony. Now she has to prove she is the real Rainbow Dash.

Chapter 2

Rainbow Dash woke up in a cell in the Royal Prison and didn't remember anything of what just happenned. She could hear the voices of her friends coming from the hallway.

"I can't believe a changeling replaced Rainbow and we didn't even notice it until today!" Twilight said.
"I hope they haven't done anything to her" Fluttershy said, almost crying.
"This is simply the most horrible thing ever" Rarity said.
"Don't worry girls I'm sure we'll find her" Applejack said.
"And when we find her I'll throw the BIGGEST...PARTY...EVER!!!!!!!" Pinkie said.

The 5 mares entered the cell.

"Twilight what the hay is going on! Why am I here... In a cell and why are do you keep on saying im a changeling! That doesnt make any sense! Is this a joke? Please explain to me what's going on!" Dash said.
"Well we were hoping YOU would explain us what's going on... Changeling" Twilight said.
"LOOK THIS IS NOT A FUNNY JOKE LET ME GO!" Rainbow said.
"We know you aren't Rainbow Dash" Twilight said.
"What the hay are you talking about" Rainbow said.
"Rarity... Mirror" Twilight said.

When Dash saw her reflexion in the mirror she fainted once again.

I couldn't believe what was happenning to me... All my life was just lies. All this time I thought i was a normal pony like everypony else but turns out I'm a changeling. I know I'm me but... I feel like I'm not me anymore. Now my friends don't believe me. I told them I'm Rainbow Dash, their friend, but they think that I'm a changeling spy who ponynapped Dash and replaced her to try to gather intel on Princess Celestia, the Elements of Harmony, PonyVille and tons of other stuff. Thats what everypony thinks. I'm usually rarely scared... But now I seriously am. I don't know what will happen to me. I try not thinking about it but I can't get this out of my head. Will I stay in prison forever? Will my friends ever talk to me again? Will I be executed? What will happen to Scootaloo and Tank! Oh my gosh i have to get out of here! Then I have to get to the one pony who still maybe could trust and believe me... Scootaloo.

I must escape tonight... I have the perfect opportunity to do so because they are moving some prisoners to another prison... I just have to find a way to get out of my cell, steal a guard's uniform and dash away without being noticed. Nevermind, I found a way to open my cell's vent and I bet it leads directly outside the building. After about an hour of crawling in the vents, I managed to escape the prison. I'll hide in the Everfree Forest till I find a way to look like myself again, I don't want to frighten Scoot or else she will run away and tell everypony I escaped. Well, I gotta learn how to look like normal again... But how?

I couldn't figure out how to do it by myself... So I decided to steal a book from Twilight's library about changelings. It was quite easy considering she fell asleep while studying which meant she hadn't locked the library's door. I hate reading anything but Daring Doo books but I don't really have a choice. At least, the book was easy to understand, in about an hour I was able to easily look my normal self again. I also read a bit about how to shapeshift into other ponies. It may be quite useful in case of emergency but I really hope I'll never EVER have to use this ability...

"Scootaloo... YOU ARE A GENIUS!" Dash said.
"Well thanks Dash but I think you are way more of a genius than me!" Scoot said.
"So... When should I do that Sonic Rainboom?" Dash said.
"Well tommorow i could intentionally fall from the clock tower and you could catch me and do your Sonic Rainboom!" Scootaloo said.
"Also who took care of you while I was gone?" Dash asked.
"Oh Fluttershy did" Scoot said.
"Then you really should get back home or else she is going to REALLY freak out!!!! She must be so worried right now!" Dash said.
"Yeah you're right..." Scoot said.
"Well I'll cya tommorow at the tower at noon ok?" Dash said.
"Yep cya sis!" Scoot said, walking away.

The next day... At the top of Ponyville's tower.

"Scoot you're sure you wanna do this?" Dash said.
"120% sure! I would do anything for my big sis! And if I don't no one will." Scoot said.
"Thats very brave of you Scoot, well I'll hide behind that cloud over there and wait for you to jump" Dash said.
"Ok! I'm sure everything will be fine" Scoot said.

5 mins later...

"HEY EVERYPONY I WILL JUMP OF THE TOWER AND FLY!!!!" Scoot said.

Everypony was telling Scoot not to jump but she did anyways and just before she touched the ground Dash came out of nowhere, catched her and did her Sonic Rainboom! Everypony was smiling and started shouting Dash's name and were so happy to see her back.

"Dash how did ya escape the changelings!?" Applejack said.
"What did they do to you exactly? I need to know everything about them!" Twilight said.
"Do you know that some changeling tried to replace you?!" Rarity said.
"Girls calm down! I will answer all of these questions at once... I WASN'T PONYNAPPED BY THE CHANGELINGS!" Dash said.

Everypony looked at each other confused.

"I was here, in Ponyville, all this time!" Dash said.

Everypony seemed even more confused.

"I'M A CHANGELING AND I ALWAYS WAS... I JUST NEVER KNEW!" said Dash shifting into her changeling form.

"Oh my gosh... We... We... Should have listened to you in the first place!" Twilight said.

Everypony apologized to Dash and accepted her the way she is...

Chapter 1

After the attack of the changelings, panic took over and everypony was scared that changelings could still be hidden all over Equestria. In an attempt to stop this panic and to make Equestria safer, Celestia and Luna decided to install changeling detectors that would remove any changeling's disguise if one tried to go through one of these detectors. The first one was installed in Ponyville.

"Twilight what the hay is this giant machine and why is everyone forced to go through it...?" Applejack asked.
"It's a changeling detector it will remove any changeling's disguise if one goes through it. Celestia decided to install these all over Equestria to make sure that no more changeling could attack us ever again. It's so exciting! This is the first one being installed in all of Equestria!!!!!! All this technology!!!!!!!" Twilight said.
"But why do we have to be the first ponies to go through it... I have tons of training to do if I want to be accepted in the Wonderbolts!" Dash said.
"Don't worry Dash it will just take a few minutes, you won't get late on your training. Oh I'll let you go first so you can get back to your training in no time" Twilight said.
"Wow thanks Twilight!" Dash said.

Dash entered the machine but instead of the light staying green like it would be supposed to, it turned red and started flashing like crazy. Dash, inside the machine, turned into a changeling with a rainbow mane and tail, felt dizzy and fainted.

Scootaloo was sitting in the field where Dash and her used to go all the time. She was crying, hoping her sister would be alright. It was getting dark outside and she was about to get back to Dash's cloud home when suddently she heard a voice. It wasn't any voice... It was Rainbow Dash's.

"Hey squirt, missed me much?"

Scootaloo turned around and saw Dash right behind her! She started running towards her and gave her the biggest hug she ever gave her.

"Oh my gosh Dash I missed you so much. I was so scared these monsters could have ate you or something. I'm so glad you're back and alive! How did you manage to escape from these evil changelings? What happenned to you? Did you beat their queen up? Oh my god I can't wait to tell this to everypony!" said Scootaloo.
"Woah calm down squirt! One thing at a time! What about we go camping in the forest together? I'll explain everything there!" Dash said
"YES YES YES!!!!!!! But shouldn't we tell Twilight you're back before we go?" Scoot said.
"Ummm... I... Already told her!" Dash said.
"Oh ok!" Scoot said.
"Just follow me I already setted up everything in the forest!" Dash said.

Scootaloo and Dash entered the Everfree Forest.

"Dash we've been walking for like almost an hour... Are we almost there yet?" Scootaloo said.

Rainbow Dash stopped.

"Scootaloo... I lied to you, I didn't bring you here to do camping" Dash said.
"Huh? Then why are we here for?" Scoot said, dissapointed.
"Because I need YOUR help" Dash said.
"MY help?????? You are way too awesome to need MY help!" Scoot said.
"Well, my awesomeness can't help in this situation. So... I have something I gotta tell you and show you and then you gotta help me with it squirt but you must promise me that you will trust me no matter what that thing is." Dash said.
"I pinkie promise to trust you no matter what that thing is!" Scoot said.
"Good" Dash said.

Rainbow Dash shifted to her changeling form.

"I'm a changeling" Dash said.

Scoot just froze there staring at Dash.

"D...D...Dash?" Scootaloo said, in shock.

"Don't panic ok? Look I'm as scared as you are... I discovered this this morning ok? Look I'll explain everything" Dash said.

After Dash was done explaining everything that happenned to her, Scootaloo calmed down.

"But this is horrible! We gotta find a way to prove that you are you!" Scootaloo said.
"And thats why I need your help. I thought you could help me prove that... Now we just gotta find how" Dash said.
"YES YES YES I HAVE AN IDEA! I KNOW SOMETHING ONLY YOU CAN DO AND THAT WILL PROVE EVERYONE THAT YOU ARE THE REAL RAINBOW DASH... A SONIC RAINBOOM!!!!!!!!!" Scootaloo said.
