Beyond the veil of space and time lurks a fearsome creature. For untold eons, it has drifted through the primordial air of the Void, biding its time until an opportunity to return to the planes of reality presents itself. Thanks to the trans-dimensional adventures of the newest Princess, it does not have long to wait.

Meanwhile, the spectral form of Sombra has recovered from his defeat at the hooves of the heroic Equestrians and plots to reclaim the Crystal Empire once more. However, he is not alone in this venture. A vast horde under the lash of an armored monster have set their sights on the glittering city with aspirations of loot and glory.

Will the Empire and its rulers weather the coming storm or will the combined might, magic, and cunning of their foes drive them into darkness?
