Princess Cadance Super Awesome walk to Stardom

Princess Mi Amore Cadenza was wandering the crystal castle, just like every other day. Her faithful husband Shining Armor was out of town, in Manehattan, attending a last minute reunion with the ambassadors of Diamondia, the kingdom of the Diamond Dogs.

"He just loves this kind of reunion." said Cadance to herself.

After looking at some of the royal business of the day, she was ready to relax a little bit in the castle, in this gigantic castle.

"Groan…" she said.

She looked up to the ceiling of the great Hall, and remembered that she doesn´t really get a lot of visits. Not even from Twilight, but since she is also a princess now, it is no wonder.

She felt all alone, the castle was so big and the kingdom had been in total peace since King Sombra’s defeat. It was so boring.
Then she remembered something.

"Maybe, just maybe" she ran to the royal chambers, to the closet where Shining Armor kept the crazy stuff that he and his nerdy knights use to play a lot, much to her despair.

But not today.

"I have reached it, the bottom of the barrel. What do these things have that make Shining go nuts?"

She took out a giant box from the back of the closet and started scrambling everything all around the room. She started with a few of the action figures of Starlight Engage, which unironically dismissed after looking at Princess Maia in her “bikini” and was disgusted by the one of Hava the Slug. She kept looking.

Found some cards with names that she could not pronounce even if she tried. Some Papers with a lot of scrabbles on them. A few boards and costumes, and a few figurines that if she remembered correctly, were part of the local WcDonalds prices.

"Ugh, my husband is such a weirdo" she grinned.

She was about to lose all faith, when one last thing called for her attention.

It was a poster, rolled and kept inside of a plastic bag.

"It must be really important for him, because he kept it so well." she used her magic to take it out of the bag, and when she unveiled it, it was pretty shocking for her.

It was a poster for a roller derby in Manehattan, which coincidentally was going to happen tomorrow, just the day before Shinning return. For a princess it should not have been that big of a deal, except that the ones in the poster were mares.

Suddenly she felt a little bit jealous.

"He lefted me to go see some other mares roll through a track like maniacs?" she screamed so loudly, that some crystal ponies that were passing nearby the castle herd her. - That’s it, I am going to show him a little surprise.

Cadance smiled a with some evil in her face, as she decided to take the next train to Manehattan.

The next day, princess Cadance aborded the first train to Manehattan. She felt a little bit uncomfortable, since she decided to hide her alicorn magic and pass as a normal earth pony. It could have been easier to just become a pegasus for a day, but preferred to go without the wings nor the jewelry too since it would take a lot of attention. As for her mane, she couldn’t change it in time and was a little tired for all of the magic that she had to use to hide her wings and horn.

She looked like any other earth pony to the ponies inside the train.

"Shining is going to have the surprise of his life" she though.

Her plan was simple, go to the derby, surprise him in the act, and then make him sleep in the couch for the night. It was perfect. As for the kingdom? Her “replacement” could handle them, at least until her return.

It took almost the entire day to get to the city, and when she arrived, it was noon already. She knew it would be almost impossible to arrive in time.

"Oh, who can help me now?" she screamed, thinking that something would happen. She opened her eyes and looked around for any kind of help. Nobody came. "It worked for the girl on that story…"

She then started running, she looked at the train station clock. It was almost 7, the derby started at 8, she would never make it in time.
Cadance turned around several corners, hoping to get there in time.

"Oh, it as a bad idea not to bring my wings…"

When she was about to cross a corner, she stumbled upon another pony. They both were knocked out and Cadance passed out. When she woke up, she felt like she was wearing an outfit. Somebody was touching her legs.

"What the hay? Who are you?" she asked.

"Oh, good, you are awake." responded the mare at the end of the table.

"What? What are you doing? Let me go!!!" Cadance struggled against her captor, before realizing that she was wearing some kind of jumpsuit and a helmet.

"Easy Shinning Hammer, you are lucky that we found you at the right moment. If not, you would have missed the match and we would have lost."

"Shining Hammer? Match? I believe there have been a mistake, I am not."

"Not again with the fancy talk. Come on, the Derby is about to start."

“Derby?” she thought. Finally, the place she had been looking all day. The mare must be very enthusiastic, the suits were pretty cool looking and somehow matched the colors of her coat perfectly. Cadance saw the earth pony leave the changing room in rollers, then watched her own hooves to see that she was also wearing those.

"Wait, changing room? Rollers? Oh no."

Oh yes, Princess Cadance just realized that she was about to enter the actual match, not witness it.

"Oh Celestia, this is bad, really, really bad. I don´t even know how to play this game. I barely remember how to roller-skate."

She was starting to let her nerves invade her, but then the mare came back and started dragging Cadance to the track.

"Wait, there has been a terrible mistake, I am not who you think I am."

"What are you saying?"

"I am a princess, I was not meant to do this kind of things."

"You realize that princesses are alicorns, right?"

"But I am a… Oh no" she just realized her plan was a terrible idea.

"Come on Hammer, I have seen you roll like a star, you will be fine" the mare kept pushing Cadance towards the track.

Then, her whole world change.

The lights, the crowds, the announcer screaming trough the microphone. It felt awesome. And for the first time she felt excited to be there.
The announcer was saying a bunch of things that Cadance really did not understood, the parts that she could take out of that were “Fillydelphia Phracturers” and “Manehatten Manglers”. She presumed she was in the first team.

The match was about to start. All teams in position. Ready? Set? Go!!!

They started rolling around the track. Cadance was confused and felt like she was doing a great effort to roll with her team. Then one of the mares of the other team pushed her to the side.

"Hey, that was unnecessary and rude" she screamed at the other pony, then she noticed that she was from the other team.
They must have realized quickly that Cadance was a newbie, because they started tackling her even more than before.

"Ok, please stop" Cadance tried to reason with them, but it seemed useless. They did not listened to her. "This really hurts…"

Cadance was about to dorp the towel, when she heard one specific voice in the crowd. It was amazing, almost as if the entire Stadium just shut for a second. She saw him. Shining Armor, sitting closer than anyone was for the track. And with him, were his nerd knights, all in a somewhat civilian mode.

"I knew you would come to escape your responsibilities." Cadance was now infuriated. She started to go against all of the other mares. She was close to the leader one and tried to tackle her out of the track. But the was stopped by a gray mare from the other team, and the lead finally won the race. Much to her partners disappointment.

Back in the changing rooms.

"What the hay was that?" asked the pony that had dragged her to the track in the first place, the other one was right behind her.

"I am sorry, but I warned you, I am not this Shining Hammer of yours."

"But, then who are you?"

"I am princess Mi Amore Cadenza, ruler of the Crystal Empire and niece to princess Celestia."

The two mares started laughing .

"Yeah, right, a Princess? An Earth Pony? Who are you trying to fool?"

"Just wait, the effect should ware off in a few seconds."

"Okay, assuming everything you said is real. Why would you transform on an earth pony? Weren’t you like, a Pegasus or something originally?"

"I did this so that I could fool my husband, that lefted me alone to come and have some fun with his friends without telling me. I was jealous, I don´t have a lot of friends, a lot of them feel intimidated because of me and just…"

Just as she tried to finish that sentence, the spell effect wore off and Cadance returned to her alicorn self.

"You were telling the truth" said the one that was just sited and had not said a word all night.

"Wow, you really are a princess. I, I…"

"Its okay, it could have fool anyone."

"But, if you are here, where is Kit?"

"Right here" the door opened and an earth pony that looked a lot like Cadance entered the room. "I am sorry guys, I was scared of ruining it, so when I stumbled upon this mare, I changed clothes with her and let her take my place… I am sorry."

She started crying. Cadance put her hoof over her mane and gave her a little hug.

"I am sorry princess, I will never do this again, and sorry that you had to deal with that much pain."

"Its okay. At the end it was fun. A little rough, but fun. And I am pretty sure that your friends will forgive you regardless."
Kit looked at her friends with shame in her eyes. They seemed unhappy, but approached her and hugged her too.

"But you will promise to train even harder for next month, okay?" said the one that didn’t talked much.
Cadance looked at that sight and thought how silly her plan was, Shinning was just trying to have some fun, and at the end, she had a moment too.

She decided to go back to the Crystal Empire that night.

Back at the Empire, things looked exactly the same as she lefted.

"I guess nopony noticed my absence."

She entered the Castle, to find the bag of potatoes with the word Princess Cadance written on it. She giggled a little as she put it away the bag and entered the royal chambers, as messy as yesterday.

"Well, I better start cleaning it before Shining comes back."

She cleaned everything up to the point of leaving everything where it belonged, as if nothing happened and went to get some sleep.

In the afternoon she decided to go pick Shining Armor up herself.

"Hey sweetie, how was the conference?" she asked.

"As boring as it gets, you know how this conferences are…"

"Really?" asked she, trying to fake a little bit of surprise

"Yeah, I could really use some sleep right now."

They were about to go their way back to the castle, when suddenly three voices screamed at her.

"Hey, your majesty, we heard you could use some friendship in this place."

It was the Fillydelphia Phracturers. They were standing right in front of her.

"I think we didn’t introduce ourselves before. She, as you know, is Kit Ahim" Kit waved "the silent one is Garnet Strike" Garnet nodded "and I am Lucky Milk. If you are a little confused is because those are our actual names."

"No, its okay, but, what are you doing here?"

"We figured you could use a little company. It is said that the Crystal Empire can probably run itself if it could, so it must be really boring here."

"So, we decided that since our next match is in about a month - said Kit - we could stay a little while here with you. What do you say?"

"What do I say?" Cadance looked at the three mares that were so willing to be her friends and smiled "I say… GIRLS NIGHT!!!"

The four mares hoofbumped and ran straight to the castle.

Shining Armor was left alone in the Station, still trying to process the fact that the Fillydelphia Phracturers were in the Crystal Empire, that they knew his wife personally, and that one of them looked a lot like his wife.

When he finally snapped out of the trance, he could only say…

"What did just happened?"

Well yeah, I wrote the story as soon as I ended reading the comic. It felt so bizarre to think that Cadance could be a Roller Mare, that I just had to use it before anyone else...
And it is also the firs fanfic I finish. Yeah, thats awesome...
