The beginning

I never wanted any of these horrible to happen, it just happened. My entire family besides me and my younger brother assassinated. Just because they didn’t want them in royalty anymore. Now I’m the one in the throne at the early age of 18. my birthday was literally two months ago. I thought I had years to wait and to be a regular young prince. That didn’t happen. What about my brother he is turning 18 in a week? I know he is well better suited to be king. He is smart and the people like him a lot. I’ll ask him if he’ll take over as king. I rather just be a prince and be my brother’s royal advisor.

Christian thought over his parent’s deaths and what life was going to be for him now.

‘If i could i wish that I could leave this place and make my life easier and safer,’ he thought

He sighed and then stood up, “Hopeful dreaming,” he said.

He walked out of the throne room since court was done for the day and and made his way to his chambers. He made it halfway and he bumped into his younger brothe, Cyrus. He was 6' 8 and had dark brown hair and almond eyes that looked exactly like his mothers'. He was wearing his night court robes since he took over matters of the night. He claimed it was more relaxing and he could think better.

Christian stumbled and said, "Oh sorry Cyrus, are you on your way to night court?"

The brother nodded,  "And I'll guess your going to your chambers to sleep?"

Christian smiled slightly, "Got to stay alert for tomorrow. The king and queen from the  Artun nation is coming and I'm having them as guests for the week. I have to let the other kingdoms around us to see that we are as peaceful as before our parents....."

Christian stopped and looked at his feet. It was too soon to talk about them. Why did that man have to do the damned killing. We did nothing but good for the kingdom. He himself went out on his own accord to feed and comfort the homeless, needy, and the elderly.

Cyrus saw the storm brewing in his brothers' mind, "Christian you can't blame yourself for what happened to mom and dad. What happened to them was pure evil, I even have trouble talking about it. But they wouldn't want us to sit around and mope. They would want us to keep going on and continue to protect and love our subjects just as they had."

Christian nodded, slightly reassured, "Thanks brother, I'll see you in the morning. And remember don't push yourself too hard. I don't want to wake up to a gaurd knocking on my door saying you passed out from exaughtion. Again. "

Cyrus laughed, "That was one time. If I remind you, you were the one who made me stay up during the day to welcome some duke and dutchess and expected me to stay up over 48 hours. So it was your fault."

Christian laughed, "One more thing. If you go out for your lunch try not to dent the car again. I know we can afford it, it's just so hard to get the parts out here. Definitely because it's a Camaro. And because most of the world doesn't know this island exists."

Actually the world didn't know this island existed. It was kept safe from the world so they would not try to steal magic of the island. The answer was simple. The island can't be plotted on a map because it doesn't exist on any map. It was on another plane of existence that was easy to get to the real world from.

Cyrus nodded, "Ok, oh and you have to practice your magic. Your still having trouble with it right?"

The brother nodded. The magic he had was the control of the five elements fire, water, air, earth, and plasma, he also had control over seasons but not as much as his brother. The king also had a magic revealed to them that only they knew about and Christian had found his and it was very surprising. The elders of magic decided the time was right to have a king whose coronation power was magic. He know has control of every magic with varied degrees of success. But Christian decided to mostly stay with his born powers. Every person on the island had some sort of magic. The king and the prince magic was a lot stronger and that's how they determined the royal family centuries ago.

"Yeah I'm having trouble with air mostly. Kinda hard to control something you can't see."

Cyrus smiled, " I know what you mean controlling the seasons is really hard."

“Well at least you have a schedule to follow, I just use mine to assist you with rain and fronts when you need them,” Christian said as he walked up the stairs to his room.

Cyrus rolled his eyes, “Whatever, just do what the elders tell you to do, they left a letter for you in your room. See you tomorrow.” With that Cyrus left for his duties and Christian entered his room.

He saw a note on his pillowcase and decided to get ready for bed before he read the letter. He took a shower, brushed his teeth, and other private matters. When he pulled over his pajama shirt he decided he wasted enough time and picked up and opened the letter.

Dear King Christian,

We know that you have been feeling very unhappy being king and we would like to relieve you of your troubles. You are probably wondering how. It is very simple actually. But before we get into it, we will inform you that we have talked to your brother and he is okay with idea, knowing that you were going to turn over the crown in a few weeks anyway. Enclosed is a magic spell that you can cast that will send you to a mystery land that a King used long ago. It will send you and an exact copy of the castle.

We know nothing of this land except that the land is livable and that you won’t be alone. We hope you take this into consideration, and if you do know one more thing. If you do this spell know when you enter the other world that you will be immortal due t the magic surge you will create on your body. This does not mean you can’t die only that you will not catch illness or die naturally. If you choose this option we will not think bad we will be actually amazed at your magical ability. So if you take this option, farewell and have a wonderful and long live.

Sincerely,

Elder Gilfirg

PS

Say hello to Celestia and Luna for me.

Christian stared at the paper, it was the thing he wanted, to get out of this mess. His brother knew about it. Why did he not tell him? Did the elders not want the news getting out yet or was Cyrus forbidden to speak about it. And who in the world was Celestia and Luna? Were they friends with the elder or past accomplices? Christian sat their and thought.

He then stood up with his mind made up. He opened up the enclosed scroll and read the spell and its movements. He then wrote a letter to his brother and to the kingdom explaining himself. He then went to the room across the hall that was his personal training room. he looked at the spell and started to say the spell.

Ut in uno mundo in alterum

dictum est in prophetis

Paratus sum faciem tuam

Sic ego nunc mihi perpetuum potest quiescere

Christian finished the spell and nothing happened. He was about to check the spell again when the room gave an almighty lurch and he fell to the ground. He crawled to his bedroom where he got on his bed and held on for his life until it would stop.

Cyrus was talking to one of his subjects about the crops being very fruitful this year as he felt a tremor go throughout the building.

“Good-bye brother,” said Cyrus softly as the tremor ceased and a tear went down his face.
