//-------------------------------------------------------// Rainbow Dash's Adventures Through Oz -by Unknown Tale- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// How It All Started //-------------------------------------------------------// How It All Started I may be a little pony, but I love to write fictions for all to see. It all starts with an idea, then it shapes itself into a fiction, or a song. Nothing is ready the first time, so I fix my errors for my faithful friends to read more easily. My past is shrouded in mystery, and I plan to find out someday. But I'm always writing my fictions at my writing desk until the moon appears and the raven sits by my window. I eat, sleep, and breathe words, ideas, dreams, and fantasy worlds. It is one of the only things I ever think about. It was the same routine everyday until my first request from another pony... I was busy writing fictions by my desk, getting ideas for my Fractured Tails and my Holiday Specials. It occured to me that I never wrote an ongoing series or a request, but I was okay with how things went. The peaceful Ponyville was always normal and had nothing to do on some days (mostly because the Mane Six were off dealing with Equestria's Top Villains). This was until I got a knock on my door. I stopped writing and went downstairs. I opened my door... and Rainbow Dash was there. "Hey Unknown Tale," she said, "I would like to talk to you." I felt relief in my mind. I was writing fictions non-stop! "Very well, Rainbow Dash. Please do come in. It is not often I have visitors." "I can see why," she replied as she walked in. She went over to a chair at my table and sat in it. I sat on the chair facing in her direction. "So, why'd you come here on a beautiful day like today?" I asked. "I sort-of need a new book." I just stared at her for a moment. Did I hear her right? I thought. Does she want to borrow a book, or is she requesting? I decided to ask. "Very well, what kind of book do you want?" "Oh, I don't want a book, I'm just requesting." "You're the first to request, Rainbow Dash. What do you want for your request?" "Well, I was looking through some old books at Twilight's and found this really odd book about a Wizard, a Scarecrow, a Tinman, a cowardly lion, and four witches." "Wizard of Oz?" I asked. "Oh, so that was the title! Anyways, if you've got any spare time, I would like you to make an Oz story. I want some action, adventure, comedy, and possibly a few twists! Do you think you can handle that?" I looked through my basement quickly and found other adaptations. I did my Alice fics and got good results. Some others made their adaptations. Maybe I can see what to do with this request. I ran back up and back into my seat. "Okay Dash. I have decided to do it. However, there is one tiny problem..." "What is that?" Rainbow Dash asked curiously. "You need to wear a dress." She looked at me strangely then turned away. She then turned back a few seconds later managing a weak smile. "Don't worry about it Unknown Tale. I know you'll be able to do something funny with it." I nodded in agreement. I went up to my shelf and grabbed an empty book. It shimmered and gleamed for a moment. "Feel free to choose a title Rainbow Dash." "I know the perfect one." She got out a pencil and wrote the words Rainbow Dash's Adventures from Oz and smiled at me. I smiled back and we started working on the fic. And here you are reading the fiction. //-------------------------------------------------------// 01 - Twister //-------------------------------------------------------// 01 - Twister Applejack and Rainbow Dash kept running through, constantly on each other's tails. They weren't willing to make a speedy getaway from themselves (basically there are too many branches to use wings and they were too fast it would take a few seconds to stop all together and try to kick the other into a tree). They were really close to getting to the flag with their speed, agility, and endurance, but they stopped going in that direction when they saw a giant tornado. "Rainbow, did you make that twister?" Applejack asked. "I don't remember making such a thing," Rainbow Dash replied. "That one looks different from the others." "I think we should stop foolin' around right now n' RUN!" Applejack took off real quickly. Rainbow Dash tried to keep up to get shelter. "I don't remember the Storm Team making a tornado this morning!" "Ah know, it just came outta nowhere!" They ran for a while, trying their best to get back to the barn. It was not that easy with the tornado going closer to them and the dirt clouds from the wind that made them cough a bit during their run. Rainbow Dash seemed to feel as though she was running slower than normal when she noticed the tornado was almost at them. Applejack got into the barn quickly, but Dash had no luck getting in. "Rainbow, hurry! It's coming right for you!" "I can understand that, but IT'S PULLING ME IN!" "You're a Pegasus, you know, can't you just be able to fly back down safely when it ends?" "Well, I'd have to fly the way the wind goes. But, I'm afraid I might break something..." "Do not worry 'bout that! Worry about the Twister coming RIGHT FOR YOU!" Rainbow Dash gasped and tried to rush ahead of it. But, instead she was pulled in. "RAINBOW!!!" Applejack yelled out in horror. Rainbow Dash felt the same odd feeling from before. I see, this tornado was different from the others, it must've been summoned for a reason, she thought. She looked around to see if she was the only one in it. She could see the broken off limbs of trees from Sweet Apple Acres and leaves pulled off from them. Then she saw strange visions around the tornado. I must've been knocked out or something to see THAT. She looked down only to see the tornado carrying her upwards like someone played The Song of Storms. She looked up and noticed the top appearing fast with a nice blue sky. Wait... A NICE BLUE SKY!? Rainbow Dash smiled to see the nice bright sky again. Then, the tornado's winds stopped moving her around and she stopped in mid-air. She deployed her wings and her fall slowed. Applejack was right! She looked down to see a lush green landscape with watery patches in some areas. She wondered what to do first since she had a feeling she was not in Equestria anymore. When she touched the ground, or so she thought, she heard somepony yell at her. "HEY, GET OFF OF ME!" Scared and not knowing what to do, she got off the pony and kicked her away. The pony screamed as her body went through a wall. "Oh no, I'm so sorry!" she tried to say to the other. Then she felt another odd feeling. She sat down and looked at her body. She gasped. She saw a dress of blue and gray cover her body and stockings for the bottom hooves in white. "Where'd this come from? Who put this on me? I barely even wear dresses around Ponyville! Maybe it is because I am new here..." Then a pony that looked like Scootaloo came over to her. "Someone just randomly crashed into my house. Please come and help identify who it is." Rainbow Dash gulped. That's not a good sign. //-------------------------------------------------------// 02 - The End of the East //-------------------------------------------------------// 02 - The End of the East Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo looked at the pony. Rainbow noticed the pony had a mane of a king or queen and a flame in its eyes along with fangs. "S-s-sombra..." she said softly. "Sombra? That's the name of the Wicked Witch of the East! HE'S... GONE..." Scootaloo cheered and told everypony else in her area. Soon ponies that looked like Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, Cheerilee, Lyra Heartstrings, and Bon Bon. They all went over to Rainbow Dash and congratulated her all over the place. Rainbow Dash wasn't sure on what was going on. "Uh, can somepony tell me what's going on?" "I can," said a voice. "Who are you? Show yourself!" A pony who looked exactly like Luna came walking towards the crowd. "Hello, I'm the Good Witch of the North. Who are you?" "I'm Rainbow Dash, or that was who I was when I first fell. I came from a tornado into this land and I am so confused about everything. It's all happening too fast." "I see. I also see the Wicked Witch of the East knocked out. I know it could be an accident. But you stopped what could've been a 20 year long war." Rainbow Dash wondered about that for a moment, then why she was wearing a dress. Luna knew exactly what she was thinking and said, "Strangely enough the original owner of it was too big for it and it flew inside that tornado. I'm not sure who the owner was." Rainbow Dash stifled her laugh thinking it was the most ridiculous excuse she ever heard, EVER. "Alas, a part of it was missing, and it lies here... er... somewhere..." "What's the big deal about this pony?" Rainbow Dash managed to ask. "He tried to attack our town's hero Minuette," Apple Bloom replied. "You should've seen the look on her face!!" said another voice. "WHAT WAS THAT?" Rainbow Dash asked scared. "You may have defeated the Wicked Witch of the East, but that was the Wicked Witch of the West." With that said, the pony flew down to them. The residents of the area scattered and ran. "'Sup? I'm the Wicked Witch of the West," she said to Rainbow Dash. "Chrysalis!?" she replied. "I'm just here to see my... sweet Celestia he's gone...!" She ran over to her and cried on him. "My life is ruined!" "Hey, that's what I say!" "Does it even matter right now? My poor friend always had a feeling of being attacked and kicked into a house. But, it's half okay because he's half in, half out." She walked to the half out side of him. "To make it even worse he's also had feelings about being attacked by a--" "Crystal Heart? I have been there and done that in another part of the world." Chrysalis stood silent for a moment and looked down at Sombra's hooves. "Wow... he's just... wow... He must've rolled in the dirt before getting like this." Then she noticed something odd. "WHERE IS IT!?" Luna smiled looking at the now mad Chrysalis. "Where is what?" "He always carries around a pair of ruby colored slippers when not in public because... well... he never actually told me why...!" A few ponies giggled. "I wonder what he looks like with them ON," they said. "They may have fell of during flight," Rainbow Dash said logically. "No, they must've disappeared," Chrysalis replied. "Or maybe they appeared..." she had another odd feeling, "on my back hooves." She sat down again to notice they were. They fit perfectly on her. "Where have I seen this before?" "You STEALER," Chrysalis said. She charged at her. Rainbow Dash prepared for impact, but Chrysalis flew back by Luna's magic. "This isn't... over Rainbow Dash... You may have outsmarted me this time, but I'll be back! I'll get you, my pretty, and your little d--" "I don't have a dog," she interupted. "Okay then... and your little c--" "I don't have a cat either." "Then what in Celestia's name do you have?" "A turtle." "And your little turtle too!" She vanished. "It is nice seeing you all, but I must go." "Where are you heading off to?" Luna asked. "I need a way to get back to Ponyville to tell the Mane Six I'm alright." "Well no one has the power to do that except our ruler." "Don't mind me asking, but who is that ruler?" "In the City of Emeralds lives a ruler. The great and powerful--" "Trixie?" "What? No... no... The great and powerful... CELESTIA." So this place is where she stayed at for the past few days, Rainbow Dash thought. Then she said, "Will she have enough power to bring me home?" "Absolutely. All you have to do to get to her is to Follow the Yellow Brick Road." She vanished in a cloud of pink smoke. "I think I saw this before," Rainbow Dash said. She walked over to the road. The residents wished her good luck as she walked off to see Princess Celestia. //-------------------------------------------------------// 00 - Oz's Last Hope //-------------------------------------------------------// 00 - Oz's Last Hope A few days ago, Princess Celestia said she was taking the day off to visit another dimension, leaving Luna and Twilight in charge. They were very curious on what was going on with her. Is she escaping reality? they thought. Celestia didn't tell anypony where exactly she was going. When she finally was far away from Ponyville, she summoned a tornado (Magic...) and got herself transported to a land we call Oz. She came during the time the North and South was in a big power struggle with both the East and West. With her amazing powers, she took care of the East and West and stopped the power struggle. However, she did not return home easily. Now there is a war between the East and the North. The South and the West didn't even bother. Celestia was there at the time, facehoofing herself from all the madness in which she thought she had done. "What have I done?" she told herself. "Why'd I do this? Where'd I go wrong?" The Good Witch of the North, Luna, came in seeing the depressed Alicorn. She knew that Celestia was beating herself on what occured between the North and East. The two sighed at the problem going on. Then, Celestia got an idea. "Luna, trust me, I have a plan." Luna nodded as she ran outside of the City of Emeralds. "I hope this works... I am a bit rusty..." she said to herself. She quickly created another tornado and sent it to Ponyville. "Hopefully, somepony will help." "Who do you think will help?" Luna asked walking to her. "Hopefully one of the Mane Six dear Luna." "Who is this MANE SIX you speak of?" "I'll explain later..." Meanwhile in Ponyville, Rainbow Dash was getting ready for her day. She was going to see Applejack for another friendly duel. She, however, felt a strange thing was going to occur in Ponyville. Once she was done, she flew to Sweet Apple Acres and met Applejack near the barn. "Hey Applejack!" "Howdy Rainbow Dash!" The two walked over to the Apple Trees. "Ah don't know exactly how many ah have here. Might be a thousand." "Don't your hooves get extremely tired working there?" "Stop askin' questions you already know!" Applejack said, slight anger in her voice. "I know, it was a rough week for all of us. So what're we supposed to be doing?" "Ah thought about doin' a simple game of Capture the Flag." "This should be easy." "There is supposed to be an unexpected rainstorm later." "Then why are we here?" Applejack covered her mouth with her hoof feeling she said too much. "L-let's get goin'." The two then took off for the other side of Sweet Apple Acres. The sky was starting to turn black.
